chycorita Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 I like soul silver. Doesn't it give you a feeling as if it is mysterious? Thanks to Narwhal andIllithan for my sig
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 I think Dusk Gold and Dawn Silver sounded the best. But then again, I'm fine with these name.
Aarux Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Yeah. I liked DS and DG better, but... it doesn't matter. We're just discussing it, even if we all agree that a different name is better, Nintendo's not gonna change it. They don't care.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Remember, this is the Japanese game. It might be dubbed to a different name.
Aarux Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Eh, maybe... has Nintendo ever done that, though? I can't remember if this is true or not, but didn't Nintendo have DS/DG trademarked?
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 It was a rumor. I hate rumors, they get you all hyped at the same time pissing other people off. I adapted to those names, now I have to get used to Heart Gold and Soul Silver.
Cobalt Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 They sound like names that would sound better in Japanese. Better then friendship gold.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I think they are running out of precious gems to make new names. Oh well, they could always go back to naming the games colors.
Aarux Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 There's still quite a few of gems out there they haven't used: Garnet, Amethyst, Peridot, Opal, Turquoise, Topaz... hmm, that's all I can think of off the top of my head. If Nintendo switched to colors... man, they'll have plenty of choices for the next game.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Yeah that's true. Gems sounded better then color though. They were better then colors. It'll be a shame if they do run out of names and have to switch back to color.
Aarux Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 So, do Silver and Gold stand for the color or the rock/metals?
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I always assumed they meant the color, but it is a jewel... I guess generation I was the only one with names based on color.
Fallen Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 So, do Silver and Gold stand for the color or the rock/metals? I would assume the rock formation since crystal is a rock and can never be a metal.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Good point. I guess generation I is the only generation with names based off of colors.
Greencat Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 RBY - [Primary] Colors GSC - Minerals RSE - Gemstones or Jewels DPP - Most Expensive Minerals
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 So there is a pattern? Hmm, makes me wonder what they might use for other names.
Aarux Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 So the next game'll be named after a really, really expensive jewel? That pattern doesn't make much sense, but... Maybe it's just random and not a pattern.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Hope not. Opel sounds like a good name for one of the games.
bear831 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I agree that would be cool but they might use elements next.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I never thought of that. Elements sounds like an awesome idea.
bear831 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Think like for the remakes of RSE they could have Sky version. and the next gen. could be others like Periodic elements or the alchemy elements (earth, air, fire, water).
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I'm looking forward to it. Element names would be better then Heart or Soul.
bear831 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Yah that is true but they might go on to other things like stone version or steel version.
Aarux Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Elements... nice. Like EmberGold or SkySilver? They sound cool.
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Defiantly better than the official names but they might use those next gen.
