bear831
Yep but they do make fun topics.
FLOOTENKERP
Me too, but it's not anything to be perfected to fit another person's liking. If Game Freak liked it, they liked it.
Aarux
True. But if tons of people didn't like the name in Japan, do you think they'd change it in America?
bear831
True but I really would like to know who comes up with the names for this stuff especially for the pokemon. Aarux no I don't think they would because it is already widely known in the US
FLOOTENKERP
Yes Aarux, I think they would.
bear831
Well now that I think of it that's what they did with "The World Ends With You".
FLOOTENKERP
Okay, but that's really off topic.
bear831
YAh sorry again but it was in relationship to the names and what would happen if they were unpopular, that was just an example. Still the names are not all bad.
FLOOTENKERP
They are fine the way they are.
bear831
That was a what if situation and they don't need to change them now that they have been announced.
FLOOTENKERP
They can dub the name. Green was dubbed to Blue, what does that tell you?
bear831
They could change it some thing less familiar like when they changed platinum orb to the other name.
FLOOTENKERP
The Griseous orb, and I don't think a dub will even be necessary.
bear831
True we can hope, see the simple name change of a item has completely thrown me think of that in terms of a game title?
FLOOTENKERP
A game item is not nearly as important as a game title. Comparing them is pretty weird.
Aarux
Man, this thread has arguments of the weirdest things. An item wouldn't affect the game's title. Don't titles come before actually making the game?
FLOOTENKERP
It was just an assumption bear made.
pennypenny123
They could've come up with better names.
FLOOTENKERP
Yeah, what was wrong with Dusk Gold and Soul Silver? Those names were copyrighted, so I believe that Nintendo was not the ones who copyrighted them.
alpark94
I thought they were fair names A bit cheesy, but I don't really care that much I guess the heart and soul part of the names came from the trio "heat soul and mind"
Aarux
I thought they were fair namesA bit cheesy, but I don't really care that much I guess the heart and soul part of the names came from the trio "heat soul and mind" Heart, Soul, and Mind... hmmm... If that's what they're going by, then Crystal will be called "Mind Crystal." ... that doesn't sound right, though.
FLOOTENKERP
There isn't going to be a Crystal remake. But I don't see what is wrong with these names. They seem fine.
Aarux
They usually make games in trios... I don't see why not. The names are just so... cheesy. To me, anyway. If it was something like FireRed or LeafGreen, then maybe I'd like it.
FLOOTENKERP
Fire Red and Leaf Green had no third. If that is not enough proof, there is no data for Crystal in a save file of DPPT. I don't think the names are cheesy at all. They sound fine, they just could be better.
Aarux
We don't know yet if they'll have one or not. But the pattern's like this... Red, Blue, Green. Gold, Silver, Crystal. Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald. Pearl, Diamond, Platinum. It seems reasonable to me. By FR/LG, I meant the names. FireRed, LeafGreen. Something similar to that would be nice... in my opinion.
