You can view you received card while having the wireless adapter plugged in.

Unlike modern day games, you can only view the card you have right now, not past cards.

Using PKSM on 3ds, how the heck to I get any of these wonder cards to work?

PKSM does not support wondercards on gen 3.

Extract your save file to your PC and use PKHeX with the WC3 Plugin instead.

Alright, how do I actually put the events in the game from there?

Export the save from your cart.
Edit the exported save with PKHeX.
Restore the edited save into your cart.

I understand that, but what do I do inside PKHex? I don't see anything in regards to actually putting the event in the game. What should I be looking for? 
Edit: I realize that in Tools there is WC3 plugin as an option but it is grayed out

Load your Gen 3 save into PKHeX first. Also, the comments section here isn't for troubleshooting. Any more issues, start your own thread.
