    Introduction

This is an adapted and alternate take on Coin Case glitch in Generation 2,
as we would end up chaining a few of time, to get desired effects.

Once you've set up the PC list of items, and create the required Pokemon for the glitch, it can be reused pretty easily.

If you need any items, such as Pass to travel, just use this glitch to give yourself another one XD

    Basic Set-up for glitch
    A1. Set up your party:
    - Third slot is low level Pokemon with low attack IVs (glitch may fail if this is incorrect)
    - Fourth slot is Quagsire with Sleep Talk as First Move, holding Protein.
    - A Pokemon with Fly

Example below is a typical set-up. Ignore statement about Red Gyarados > Egg for now.:

A2. Set up these items in PC, in this order. I recommend to never touch the PC items ever again.

Some of these items may be hard to get.
If you need extra of a rare item, do the standard cloning glitch.
If you need duplicate stacks of the item in the PC, deposit multiple stacks of x99, then withdraw the unneeded amount from each stack.

    Now you're all set-up!

    Performing the glitch:
    Well, it's pretty simple.

B1. Fly to Cherrygrove (if you're not already there)

B2. Rename Box 9 to the desired name (read: content page for specific glitches and effects!)

B3. Save the game before leaving Pokemon Center

B4. Enter the mart, then leave the mart, then go 4 steps to the right.

B5. Open Pokedex, and go to "Cry" to listen to Bellsprout's Cry
    unt6.png

B6. Open Bag. Flip around pockets <- a must!
    Check Coin case.

B7. At this point, if the game didn't crash, whatever desired effect has taken place!

Apparently, according to the description and comments of this video, the glitch is fixed for Korean games.

Just throwing this out in case you're unaware. :)

Yup, I'm aware. Coin case glitches only work for English Pokemon Gold and Silver.

Great and simple information, I hope we get something like this for Crystal and we become able to enable the celebi event just using a real gen 2 cartridge.

BTW, there's also a method that works on non-english versions and even VC releases: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2tVVeZ7Th4

There's an ACE setup for crystal, but not as simple as coin case glitch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqD68-2aAjg&t=64s

22 min one for non-english versions, oh boy.

Oh, I've seen the Crystal one with Bad clones before.
Getting a bad clone in itself isn't easy -.-

If it's any consolation, if we know the exact code of the bad clone,
we could always use this page's glitch to make a Pokemon resembling a bad clone, then trade it to Crystal.

(I used this GS ACE box 9 to change my Pokemon into FF, for usage of Johto Guard Trick)
