In recent years, I became interested the Gen 1 Mew event distributions, and I've tried to recreate the Mew Machine software as a hobby project. While I'm not a developer, I checked the code, experimented, and got help to make it work. My goal was to authentically recreate the experience based on messages around the internet from people who attended the original events, since the actual distribution machines are likely lost to time. I created a rom hack that allows players to receive Mew, as if they had attended the official event distributions. However, I don't have the skills to maintain or update it further for now. So don't expect next releases. This is intended for use on PC or mobile with emulation mostly. To patch the ROM, Beat Patcher is recommended. https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/893/ How to use: 1. Copy any save file from Pokémon Red, Blue or Yellow, this save file should have at least 1 slot in the party available. (Make sure to do backups first just in case). 2. Paste the save file wherever you have the Mew Machine ROM. Make sure to rename the save file to have the same name as the Mew Machine ROM. 3. Load the Mew Machine ROM on your emulator. 4. Write a name for the OT for the Mew you want. (I.e: YOSHIRA, HAMBURG, FINLAND, etc) 5. Once selected, press A to send any amount of Mews (Max. 5). 6. Copy the updated save. Load it back to the original game (Red, Blue, Yellow), now you have Mew(s) in your party. If you don't load a save file the game will display that is empty and will reset as a loop. My original Pokémon game. Got this game on Christmas Day of 1998. This is the original save file I had as a kid. I've played this game off and on since that day and as I got better at playing Pokémon I taught my Pokémon better moves so I could use them in Pokémon stadium. Enjoy a part of my childhood. Though I have no idea how the battery in this game has not died yet in over 20 plus years now lol. Glad I got it backed up now so I can share it with all of you and share with my future family to. Enjoy !!! Note: Great for use in the Pokémon Stadium Also has all three of the starters traded in from different save files *Plan to do a update in the future as I still play this game.- 2 comments

As in, we can reset the events using PKHeX, but can we do something to trigger them through the app? I can't seem to find any option. If there is none, I would like to request one, so that the menu has checkmarks like all other gens. I don't think it should be very hard considering the system is already in place for later gens. I have only used this on R/B, can't say much about Yellow. Also if this isn't feasible/possible, can someone guide me to do so manually?

After a negligible amount of work, I have almost finished Pokémon Nuzlocke Red and Blue versions. Version: 0.9; gameplay testing still required. Gameplay differences: Pokémon that faint in battles or on the field due to poison damage are immediately deleted from WRAM. Losing the starter battle is possible. SET is the only permissible battle style; SHIFT has been removed. Wild encounters and gift Pokemon update a global Nuzlocke state. The Nuzlocke state is also written to SRAM, immediately after the data for last box. All kinds of Poké Balls will be unable to catch a Pokémon if any encounter in the same area has taken place previously. You will not lose the Poké Ball. Legendary Pokémon are not exempt, use Repels or glitches to obtain them. Gift Pokémon cannot be received if any encounter in the same area has taken place previously. Losing all Pokémon in the party causes the game to soft-reset. They need to be released manually. Replaced various instances of Revive and Max Revive with Rare Candy, Full Restore or PP Up. Revives have been removed from shops. Untested: Missingno., its stability and effects. Special-casing of late game map groups, such as Victory Road. Missing features: Do not reset when the party is wiped out and instead pull a new party from the PC (requires a SRAM check for the non-current PC boxes). Base ROMs: Pokemon Red (UE) [!].gb (SHA256: 5ca7ba01642a3b27b0cc0b5349b52792795b62d3ed977e98a09390659af96b7b) Pokemon Blue (UE) [!].gb (SHA256: 2a951313c2640e8c2cb21f25d1db019ae6245d9c7121f754fa61afd7bee6452d) Tree of the zip file: nuzrbv09 ├── nuz_blue.ips ├── nuz_blue.xdelta3 ├── nuzlocke.diff ├── nuz_red.ips └── nuz_red.xdelta3 You only need to apply either of the xdelta3 or ips patches. Both are provided for convenience. SHA256 sums after patching: Pokémon Nuzlocke Red: b33690bac633db69e3749d2fde21613056fa8c957205eadbb15d80d52560faf5 Pokémon Nuzlocke Blue: 964764c06db7c4a204bd090ca6e1f7a9b8263df2df7e57309d43e34c73b6aeeb nuzlocke.diff was taken against commit ec76703936ae690411a29c4f6ff11eef41ebdfd3 of the pokered disassembly project. nuzrbv09.zip

Opening the attached save, a few things displayed and saved erroneously for the party box mons. - The Charizard is listed with incorrect species Nidoran(m) - Traded-In mons with trainer name Grinder have TID of zero (should be 1290) Saving the file makes the errors persist. In the VC Red game, data looks ok (Charizard is species Charizard, Trainer IDs are correct). I had a quick look in the PC Boxes, there the data seems to be ok. (Box 2 & 12 have the traded mons). The game is original, bought in the e-shop. I've saved the files with JKSM and Checkpoint, both save dumps seem to be identical (sha256sums are the same). sav.dat
