I'm so disapponted, especially by the graphics of this game.

It's clearly not a game for harcore players we are but for new Pokemon players who played Pokemon Go.

Hope it'll not have a huge sucess in order to not keep some mechanic changes like the catching system or the CP.

    I hate the accessory too.

Note that the divorce between Nintendo and GF is closer than ever with that game.

But it can have good aspects too:

-the new Pokemon annonced (gen ?

-the story: back to Kanto in the alternate universe we'll surely discover more about Giovanni's plans

-the connectivity with Pokemon Go: if those games are also compatible with Pokemon Bank in a way or another we can access to exlusives moves and rare Pokemon

    -Acid Grimer/Muk/Koffing/Weezing

    -Stomp Hitmonlee

    -Psybeam Chansey/Starmie

    -Quick Attack Staryu/Starmie/Porygon

    -Rock Throw Omastar

    -Surf Pikachu

  2. Right i aslo thought it was said to be a core game.

As of now we have heard of nothing to suggest gen 1 to gen 7 can communicate with the 2018 SW games. In fact because it only compatiable with gen 1 pokes, it would only be possible to transfer gen 1 pokemon in your gen 7 games to the 2018 SW games. But this seems unlikely to me because only very few pokemon would be comparable so it would seem like a waste of time and money to Make them comparable. But still possible.

Also it was confirmed to have no bank or breeding support? Or it just hasn't been announced either way yes or no yet?

It's also odd because u can get other pokemon in pokemon Go that aren't Gen 1, so only certain pokemon from Go are compatible.

Like mayb the 2019 SW games will be compatiable with Gen 1 to 7 games, but this seems unlikely because then we will have two independent paths to transfer pokemon to 2019 SW games. 1. Gen one to Gen 7

    2. Pokemon Go and the 2018 SW games

It's worrying, but the looks of it it's a hard reboot, but what about the new never before seen pokemon? This would be pokemon 800 something, but yet the games aren't compatiable with Gen 1 and 7, really odd indeed.

  3. This is the 11th iteration of the same game that I have played so many times at this point. Not to excited about these games.

    Pokemon Green - GB

    Pokemon Red - GB

    Pokemon Blue - GB

    Pokemon Yellow - GBC

    Pokemon Fire Red - GBA

    Pokemon Lead Green - GBA

    Pokemon Red - 3DSVC

    Pokemon Blue - 3DSVC

    Pokemon Yellow - 3DSVC

Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu - SW

Pokemon Lets Go Evee - SW

They unfortunately stopped the service in 2015-2016 sometime. I had some friends that did a semester in Italy and probably got some of the last cartridges sent in before they ended the program.

Also, somewhat related, has anyone else noticed how few demos/distro cart style things get leaked from Japan? I feel like Nintendo of Japan's culture makes leaking things of that nature almost unheard of.

Agreed. You must also consider, that the distributions that are pokemon center only, I think there's like what currently 11 pokemon centers in japan, so assuming one distribution device/cartridge per store (what's the need for more for wireless distributions, than that would mean only 11 of those devices ever being created, ever, chances are essentially zero of leaking, would be very easy to see who didn't return the cartridge. I doubt we'll ever see a japan distribution cartridge/device.

I also heard that crime is very low in japan, as a cultural thing

    I speculate:

Perhaps all their event carts are locked down, so an employee can't tamper with it, with the purpose of dumping the rom.

Also, there is likely a system that keeps track of every employee that was in-charge of the device (sign-in sheets probably), and if so, they'll know who stole the device, and force the information out of the employee (if sold off).

Even if it was stolen from the employee, I would imagine the market for such items aren't public, and any collector there whom purchased it would probably try to keep it private and in "mint condition". (Any public sales may lead to ninty tracking it down and repossessing it)

Furthermore, I think the employee involved in this would get fired, and potentially end up unhire-able, so it's simply not worth the risk.

(additionally, the units distributing birthday Pokemon in Jp right now, are cable-chain locked to the desk, if I'm not mistaken.

I would imagine such safeguards are a thing in Japan)

It makes me wonder how the Japanese aura mew distribution and 10 ANNIV cartridge got leaked

  5. can we create a database of pokemon distributions that we have photos or videos of taking place and conclude which were GBA distributions and which were game cube distributions based off of the media that we have surrounding them? With a database like this we might be able to at least know which monthly demo discs MIGHT have distributions.

There's a wealth of distribution media on this site

  6. oh ok just making sure, well we know that there's a variant of the november and december 2003 versions. As well as january, febuary, and march versions. I have the january, febuary, and march 2004 non variant versions. I confirmed that the berry fix is on the march version. My febuary version is still sealed, so I'm going to leave it that way. I guess we don't know about november and decmeber for sure. So who knows. Maybe it's on both november and december, but we don't know for sure at the moment. But yea, I guess I was wrong in assuming it was on the november and december one. If it's not on the november one, it would be interesting to know what the variant was for then.

Yeah, what I sometimes wonder about is how these contributors at Ahiru's Wonderland were able to download so many examples of some Events.
Especially when it comes to the Pikachu Events... ANA, Yokohama and GW Pikachu... and the only explanation for this could be either that it was easy to get access...
Or that something must have been leaked at some point... but there isn't any leak known to me and I can hardly imagine that something was leaked... ever...
Still I have no explanation why they have so many of those. I actually tried to get in touch with Ahiru to find out, but never got a reply.
I don't think he's still using that e-mail address after so many years...

You can definitely forget about demo discs from 2002... I mean what do you believe to find on those? :D
I think the only discs that would be interesting for us would be those from 2003-2005. But I don't have much hope that something could be hidden on them to be honest... Another big question would be also whether they used a GameCube for Events in 2004 and 2005 or only GBAs...
At least Festa Metang I know was distributed with a GBA SP and I think Hadou Mew as well.
So a part of me doubts that they still used Game Cube Discs at this point...

And if it's realistic to find something on these discs? I don't know... the thing is... it really made a lot sense in Berry Program Update's case because they printed special versions of these discs between December 2003 to April 2004, which actually included the Berry Program Update and those were rare but they were made public. That's why I came up with the idea in the first place and Nutter checked it out and then he found it. We got lucky, but it was not that surprising when you think of it.

Of course it's possible that Negaiboshi Jirachi was on a special version of a previous demo disc as well... just unlike the Berry Program Update non-public... and if it's true then there's a chance that files could be hidden away on these public releases or an alternate menu was used. But it must be said that this would be rather a disc from the summer of 2003, maybe July or August... I think these are discs we don't have.

Anyways... the only way to find out is to check these discs... better than speculating about it. :)

Why do you think April 2004? From what I gathered it was Novemeber 2003 to March 2004. With photographic proof for Novemeber/December 2003, and JAN-MAR 2004.  You know of a April 2004 variant? I don't remember which, but I've seen proof of either Novemeber or December 2003. Can't remember which one. Common sense leads me to believe that it was for both though. So why April 2004?

  8. Thanks for a photo. That's a shame. So there were only three pokemon centers at the time? So if it's not a demo disc, we are talking about something that is literally one of three? So I'll doubt we will ever have any hope of uncovering the original disc. If it resided on a variant of a demo disc, than we have a very high chance to find it in the future. I was hoping to maybe confirm if it was on a demo disc or not, or what else was on the disc.

I asked about the gamecube to gameboy color because we know of variants of demo discs from 2002. Mainly July 2002, and August 2002. But I don't think it could have been pokemon related stuff on there on this gamecube disc to distribute pokemon?
