  1. Has anyone successfully gotten PowerSaves 3DS to run on Mac OS X? Such as in a container like Wine/WineBottler? When Datel emailed me months ago that the official Mac release was canceled, they also told me, "Further to your reply unfortunately we are unable to advise you on the installation of the software on a MAC system." I don't have a copy of Windows to dual boot (yet), but if anyone's managed to get PowerSaves to work without Windows, I can just go ahead and get the device without having to install an entire OS I don't really need...
  2. In case anyone else was waiting around for a Mac version of the Powersaves 3DS software, don't hold your breath. It's been canceled: http://www.thetanooki.com/2014/03/21/codejunkies-cancels-mac-software-for-action-replay-powersaves-3ds/ Don't have a copy of Windows over here, so I guess I'll look into Wine or something.
  3. I wonder if the Mac OS X version was canceled? The Powersaves 3DS site used to say "Coming Soon" for OS X, but now it doesn't even list it. I still have to backup my unclaimed Torchic saves...
  4. Fantastic. Thanks for the confirmation. I'll go ahead and order it now (unless any brick&mortar retailers carry it... do they?), despite the current lack of an OS X version. If such a version takes too long to be released (i.e., past the final distribution date for Bank Celebi), I can just take it to a friend or family member's house to backup XY Torchic before farming Bank Celebi.
  5. I always backup -- or at least I did in Gens IV and V -- just so I can generate events beyond the final distribution date if necessary. I'm hoping we'll have a surefire way to backup Gen VI soon, though, as I've got two carts with unclaimed XY Torchic WCs, but I'd like to be able to restart one of them before the Celebi event ends, so as to farm Celebi on my tertiary 3DS, and neither cart currently has the OT name I'd like to use for Celebi (the same OT name I used in Gens IV and V). But I'm not going to give up my Torchic saves for it...
  6. Powersaves 3DS Software Windows XP Download Windows Vista Download Windows 7 Download Windows 8 Download Macintosh OS X Coming Soon NNNOOOOOOOOOOOO! Anyone tried to see if it definitely works yet, though? On Windows? I've got saves with unclaimed XY Torchic WCs I'd like to backup.
  7. And even if we can't quite edit them yet, it would be incredibly useful for those of us that haven't yet claimed our XY Torchic to backup the save, and either reuse or share with others.
  8. The website for Datel's Powersaves 3DS indicates you can now download saves for Pokemon X and Y and load them into your game card. No mention of Animal Crossing. I'm a little skeptical, but still curious. Anyone have it and able to backup Pokemon saves?
  9. Are you close enough toward the beginning of the game that you could experiment with trying to restore the save backup after first erasing the existing save on the card?
  10. Yes. I did it with Y first, since I'm simply using that to farm event Torchic and (eventually) Charizardite and Mewtwonite, and didn't mind if it turned out I lost my save. But it was perfectly fine. Did the same thing with my main game, X, and same result. Like I said, the only thing that happens is the game takes a moment to update your friend list, since that aspect is tied to the 3DS friend list. But that's the only thing different.
  11. I'm just saying I can take my copy of X, which I've been playing on my Fire Emblem 3DS, and insert it into my launch 3DS, and resume my game. Likewise, I can take my copy of Y, which I've been playing on my launch 3DS, insert it into my Fire Emblem 3DS, and resume my game. My point is that it may not be so reliant on the 3DS hardware/firmware as was previously speculated. Unless I'm misunderstanding what was said, which is entirely possible.
  12. For the record, we can open and save the cartridge versions (both X and Y) on any 3DS system. The only thing different is that the game takes a moment upon loading to update the friend/acquaintance list, since those are tied to the system. But the rest of the save is the same regardless of which system you use, so cartridge versions should be able to have the save extracted (at some point) and restored without issue, since they're not tied to the save timestamp mechanism the eShop versions are. Hypothetically, of course.
