Install firmware 1.55 (you can do this by manually installing it in your device manager as well) I honestly don't see the issue here. You don't need another AR. It's just your computer and/or installed driver issue If this doesn't fix the issue, or isn't the issue entirely, just look up on google how to enable USB, or whatever your issue is.

It might be the actual AR. Can you return it? Look in the top of it to see of anythings off center

If you uninstall the driver (device manager I assume when the device is plugged in) you can just update to 1.55. If you can't figure it out, just try installing 1.55 and see if it takes 1.71's place.

I'd like to have some verification on this as well. I'm pretty sure it would still be completely legal. Does it matter how you change the IV's? I know PID only corresponds to ability, gender, and possibly shinyness (not positive).

GEN V 1. The Pokemon's PID is only affected by Ability and Gender correct? Nothing Else? 2. This means I can edit a pokemon that I caught and change anything with an AR, Perfect IV's, EV's, Shinyness, everything but ability and gender, and the pokemon would remain completely legal down to the last byte? aka the exact same as a legit pokemon? 3. When you edit a pokemon say with pokegen, and want perfect IV's, how do you edit the PID manually to have the pokemon still be legal? I heard if you let it do it randomly based off the the criteria it will result as a hack.

To add on to this question, would the Pokemon still be as much legal as much as it is legit? Same, everything, trash bytes, etc?

In all honesty I just did that for the third time. Very carefully. I'm not sure why I'm not seeing the checker or secret id codes. I'll try again tomorrow. I only looked through the first 13 pages (page 1 many times).

I've searched through many topics with over 1000 replies, it seems like all of the HG/SS codes are still unorganized. Right now I'm just looking for: 1. EV/IV Checker 2. Locate Secret ID 3. Walk 1 Step to Obtain Egg 4. Walk 1 Step to Obtain a Shiny Egg 5. Fast Egg Hatch (Walk 1 step for the egg to hatch I would think would be the best option) 6. Most Legitimate Cloning Code I have a DSI AR. Not sure if that's relevant.
