  1. Oh, I see. So I'd have to use an editor to add the Shiny value. Ok.

And, I guess it's off-topic, (and you may have missed it a moment ago), but what about hatching eggs that have Shiny marked? I've been looking around, and haven't found anything about it.

I'd assume it's a PID or Secret OT issue, but I'm still hoping it's possible.

I'm generating the eggs, then trading them to be hatched.

  2. I hadn't noticed any problems... should I re-activate the Wonder Cards I'd used? Or should they be ok, since they seem to have worked like they should?

Also, how do you use the "flag" for shiny with Wonder Cards? Is that something in Pokegen, or just when making your own Wonder Cards? If PokeGen, how?

Actually, on a similar note, can an Egg that is set to Shiny still hatch Shiny? Those I've tried came out non-shiny... Is that a PID or Secret OT issue?

It's since I'm trying to make a couple Pokemon for a friend, so I'm making them, generating them on my game, then trading them to him where he hatches them.

  3. Personally, I've never considered Item Editing much of an issue, since there are already AR codes to just have every Item in a given bag at x995... (I never use it with Key Items, of course)

    With the addition of Mystery Gift support, that pretty much tops off any of my hopes as well! ^_^ I don't really have much interest in editing them. If I want to edit them, I'll just use a MGE and then export that to PokeGen. Or just Generate the Pokemon and not waste the extra time. -_-;

However, I do hope to suggest one (hopefully) really small edit to the the program's interface: Currently, to set the Hidden Ability flag, you have to go to the "Extra bytes" and edit the correct one. Yes, it's the first one, and just change it to "1", but it would be nice if that could be a simple checkbox next to Ability's dropbox. That way a person wouldn't have to jump tabs/risk forgetting to set it later.

    I think that'd be rather nice. ^_^

  4. You're doing it wrong. Just HAVING a Key Item that triggers an event has NOT been enough, not since Gen III. (therefore, this is very old info and should be common knowledge; somehow it seems to not be, for some weird reason... I dunno.)

Anyway. To trigger an event, you not only need the item, but to also trigger the in-game flag that you GOT the item/activate the Event. In general, that means you have to get it in a "Legit" way.

In short, just keep your PokeGen up to date. It now has a feature for adding Wonder Cards (one at a time) to your game, such as the Liberty Ticket.

Go here: http://projectpokemon.org/events/ to download the Wonder Card and Mystery Gift files, for all Regions, Gen III-Gen V.

If you have further questions, just check the threads (mainly the stickys or the PokeGen Download Link thread; Codr has kept things fairly clear and easy to understand). All the info you could need is completely available. Good luck!

  5. Not to mention that having EV's ALL at 255 results in a totally illegal Pokemon. Sure, for kicks it could be nice, but it's flat-out cheap to use against other people (with the exception of when EVERYONE in the battle is going free-mod, of course; but that's rare).

Sorry, but an Auto-max IV's/EV's button would be more in the way than it could be possibly useful.

However, I DO have a real request for Pokegen, just for those that don't quite understand the way it's done:

Could a marker be put next to the Ability selection for indicating it as a Hidden Ability? (Like the one for Nickname as being manually set). Or even just a mention of which byte to augment, and to which number it needs to be, in the infobox for Extra Bytes.

I just think it'd be nice, since even though you CAN find that info by searching the forum, it would be nice to have that marker right by the Ability section instead of having to remember to go to the OT/Misc tab for it. (I've only forgotten a couple times, then fixed it later, but it would be nice...).

Sorry if you're already considering that.

I LOVE MYSTERY GIFT/WONDER CARD SUPPORT!!! THANK YOU!!!

Pokesav takes another blow. HA! (Actually, wasn't that pretty much the last thing that Pokesav was any good for, since PokeGen already does everything else worth doing? Unless maybe Item Bag modifying... -_-; Not like that's much need, since there is a code for 995x all items... so yeah.

  6. For any future reference: PokeGen is the ONLY safe way to go for the Pokedex code. All other pre-made codes could run a risk. In fact, the most common ones are about 6 lines long, like the one shown just above, and will only (hopefully, or else bad stuff) do one of these 2 things:

-Set your Pokedex to 100% complete

    or

-Set your Pokedex to 000% complete

Neither is what you want. Use PokeGen and make it what you want. Just make sure you pay attention to the (very few) settings involved. There are proper explanations of how to use it already made, on either the PokeGen Update thread or related threads in it's forum.

Hopefully that info will let THIS thread finally rest in peace, having served it's full purpose, plus some.

    ^_^

  7. Will what work? The Dream World? If so, Dream World connection is ONLY based on what is registered in your Pokedex.

Either way, I can't think of anything that the 100% Catch Rate code could affect. All it does is affect the calculation for Pokeball catches to always result in a catch. (not sure the specifics).

Anyway, it shouldn't interfere with anything, code or otherwise.

  8. ^_^; You're welcome. Actually, give PokeGen a try. Despite how it sounds, it has been built quite well, and is fairly easy to use, especially the Pokedex Generator. As for making Pokemon with it, yeah, there's a few things that are needed to make a truly 'legal' Pokemon, but it's still fairly simple with some basic info. (heck, the lack of needing specific PID for Gen V is a lifesaver).
  9. As I said in the post right there above yours, just use PokeGen. You can set your Pokedex to whatever you want, for either version, any language. And you can set the activator button to whatever you want (default is [select]).

But, here you go (Total complete legal-set Pokedex. Which means several Pokemon don't have their Shiny Form in it.):

    Activator is [select]

If you find something off, or dislike, just use PokeGen for your own layout.

  10. Hm, I don't think that'd do.

If they did come from GBATemp then I doubt they'd like it getting reposted there. I tend to get a... vibe? from a number of posts there, so yeah (that make sense to anyone else, or is it just me?).

I was thinking of more like a fairly reliable/complete/organized depository for DS codes, like the one used by the Wii's homebrew applications. (I can't rememer what it's called... "WiiRD", or something like that?)

  11. Mew or Riolu? Just use the Wild Mod code! Or Pokegen, so you can have you dream Pokemon (if you make it right, which is easy, if you intend it to be 'legal'). People don't make species-specific codes anymore, not since Gen III.

Shaymin doesn't ever come with the Glacidea Flower, which is a Key Item (and thus can't be held). You show a LEGAL (in other words, one with the Event-tag in it's hidden data) to a specific NPC and she gives you the flower.

Or, for any of those, you could easily find someone who has them and are willing to trade. For example, while I don't do it often ver the 'net, I am a collector & distributor of Legal Event/Legendary/hard-to-get Pokemon, as much as I can. I prefer local, since I'm lazy, but I'm not picky about what I get. Either way, there are entire forums dedicated to the trading of Pokemon, so you shouldn't have much difficulty getting what you want there. (I recommend either Serebii or PsyPoke for their trading forums.)

You should check about events before asking for them. See Serebii.net/Bulbapedia for accurate/up-to-date info.

At present, there are NO legal Kedeo/Meloetta/Genosect, hence you can't find a code for their event. (any that claim to be so, at current time, ARE LYING.)

Also, a warning: if you DO get any of those three, their data will be added to your Pokedex, which will then ban you from the Pokemon Global Link until either you fix your Pokedex's data to not have them (see Pokegen) or until they are legally available. It's a new security thing. Just wait like the rest of us and you won't have any troubles.

  12. What did you have for the settings for the code? One of them is to obtain/UNobtain (or, to remove it). You didn't leave that unchecked, did you? Make sure with code-making that you check ALL the options, not just the ones you are interested in.

Just go back to PokeGen, load the Pokedex dialog, and re-create what you want, PLUS have the Pokedex set to be Obtained, have National Mode, and Search/Form Viewer unlocked. (Each should have a check-mark by them)

Unless you haven't reached the point in the game where you unlock those modes. Or whatever floats your boat.

Again, make sure you verify EVERYTHING before using the code, so you have it correct in one go.

Sorry if you already solved it. -_-; I'm an annoying busybody sometimes... (a lot?)

  13. Um, seriously? DID YOU NOT READ ANY OF THIS WHOLE THREAD (most notably those posts on this very page)? Don't waste time/space with a reply, just read the last post(s) by Codr and do what is very obviously shown: use Pokegen (made by Codr), and generate your own custom Dex code, which does work.

Also, DO note that you DO NOT want it to be truly 100% complete, as this whole thread was about that problem (blocks Dream World). See above posts to find the specifics of what should not be in your Pokedex at all.

  14. That's the wrong code. Remember that Black/White have different codes for the same effects, just like Japanese/English versions use different codes.

The one you were trying was for Japanese Black version.

Here's the correct one, for Japanese White version:

There really needs to be a correct depository of all the tested & working codes for each game... these threads are getting WAY too long, with too little useful info. As far as codes that are of any serious real use, I'm pretty sure that my lists cover all of them fully (especially if use add using PokeGen, since that alone covers most things you'd want to cheat for).

Where would be the best place/layout for those codes, I wonder... (Cheat sites are almost TOTALLY USELESS for codes lately. Sigh.)

  15. ^_^ I kinda figured that'd be that way for Mew. And it's not surprising that it'd let an English Emerald-caught Mew (normal or shiny) on, since I very much doubt they do a caught-language-region-check. Since so few Pokemon are exclusively region-language-specific, that'd be kind of weird.

Of course, if you wanted to ensure a wild-caught (Emerald) Mew was fully legal, it would still need to be "from" a Japanese-Emerald. Either way, thanks for the checking! ^_^

  16. A mass-delete code? Hm... you could just use the Delete Pokemon code, which works the same way as the Clone code, but removes them... (has that been made for the U.S. versions? I only use the Japanese, so I don't keep much an eye out for E-codes...)

Yay! Thank you Codr! PokeGen rules!

As it is, the only "issue" involving it is for some reason it's hard to copy it from the AR Manager to the ARDSi (or is that just me?). The reason is unknown, but is definitely an AR-related issue. It CAN be done, I've done it myself. It's just... weirdly hard. If anyone can figure out why, or just how to do it successfully every time, that would be awesome!

(The problem is that it tends to copy over as a blank code, or as one of the other codes on the list. But sometimes it copies correctly, and works just right.)

  17. Before, that would be a question that made sense, but not now. Thanks to Codr (as he said in the post prior) you can get the most recent update to PokeGen and fully customize your Pokedex to whatever you want!

Also, why NO Shinies? It's only Victini/Zekrom/Reshiram that will block the Dream World. (if there are any others confirmed to block, that would be nice to learn, but I doubt it. Also, they'd have to be only Event-obtainable, which is limited to Celebi, Jirachi, and Arceus. [Mew, Deoxys, Manaphy, Shaymin, and Darkrai can all be caught (hatched, in Manaphy's case) normally in previous games, thus can be Shiny. Of course, Mew has to be from a Japanese Emerald version to be Shiny.])

    Though, it should be noted that for some reason it's... tricky to copy the code ONTO the ARDSi. I still don't know why, but I HAVE been able to do so, with the ones that Bond697 made, which used PokeGen's data. -_-;

(Should I open a thread about that, see if anyone can figure out why it often copies to the AR as a blank code, and other times copies over correctly? Because so far, I haven't found a consistent method...)

And lastly: THANK YOU CODR AND BOND 697!!! >_< You are awesome!!!

  18. The Legally-Complete Pokedex code (thus allowing Dream World)... YES! IT IS HERE! Bond697 has cleverly used the Pokedex Mod code generated by Codr's PokeGen program, and made a custom-set Pokedex code that DOES WORK for Pokemon White, English. (As of this moment, he hasn't posted a English Black code).

Now, the thing special about this code is that it sets the Pokedex to be as MOST LEGALLY COMPLETE as it can be, thus allowing full access to the Pokemon Dream World. Also, he has created the same for Japanese White version (not Japanese Black, yet?)

    The code:

Activate with Select (probably best to use while viewing the Zukan (Pokedex) but most likely not required).

A note: This code WILL work on any ARDSi that can use codes for B/W (has recent firmware). I don't know about ARDS (basic).

However, it IS (for some reason, currently unknown to me) difficult to get it ONTO the ARDSi, via the ARDSi Manager program. The difficulty is that most times that you copy it over, the code will be blank or a duplicate of another code on the ARDSi (the one in the Manager's saved data will remain unchanged). After various things, such as resetting the ARDSi, copying just one code, copying several, copying several then it, in any order, it suddenly did transfer correctly. I tested the code out, and it worked. IT DOES WORK.

I have also tested and verify that it WILL let you connect to the Dream World.

    Specifics: It has

-Pokemon #001-#646 (Keldeo, Meloetta, or Genosect in the Dex will block Dream World)

    -All Pokemon's Forms/non-Shiny/Shiny

--However, it does NOT have the Shiny forms for:

    ---Mew/Manaphy/Arceus/Victini/Zekrom/Reshiram

--This is because (at least Victini/Zekrom/Reshiram) CAN NOT LEGALLY be seen in their Shiny form, thus block the Dream World. The other three have not been tested, but it was figured, better safe than sorry. If you want those Shiny forms, it won't kill you do just use the Wild Mod code to see them yourself.

-Also, it has the International-Language Entries for all Pokemon (if any are missing, it won't be much work to get those few yourself).

  19. I haven't found any code to put Pokemon into the High Link Forest. And really, there's no point. If you're going to cheat for them, just use PokeGen (easily found, on this site, where it is developed and updated, thanks to Codr). If you want to catch them in the High Link, then do it the right way, from start to finish.

Secret ID? What for? Use PokeGen for custom Pokemon. Why have their Secret/visible ID's the same as your regular? It makes them look more legal if they look as though they "were" traded/Shifted. It's not like you need to rename them later (and if you did, there's a code that allows renaming any Pokemon).

    Ok, edited version, AWESOME update!

Codr has updated PokeGen to produce Pokedex codes that are still fully customizable AND will work on a regular ARDSi!!! So, if you want to set your Pokedex to be as fully-legally-possible as you want, with any quirks you desire, go ahead and hop over to the download link on this site.

A note: This code WILL work on any ARDSi that can use codes for B/W (has recent firmware). I don't know about ARDS (basic).

    Known issue:

For some reason, currently unknown to me, it is rather difficult/tricky to get it ONTO the ARDSi, via the ARDSi Manager program.

    Legal Pokedex Specifics:

    -Pokemon #001-#646 are allowed.

-Keldeo, Meloetta, or Genosect in the Dex will block Dream World, having not yet been released, and are thus NOT allowed.

    -All Pokemon's Forms/non-Shiny/Shiny

--However, you should NOT have the Shiny forms for:

---Gen. I-IV: Celebi, Jirachi, Arceus (who are ONLY available via special event)

---Gen. V: Victini, Zekrom, or Reshiram (who have special coding PREVENTING legally seeing them in their Shiny form.)

-Whatever International Pokedex Entries you want available. Obviously, this doesn't currently apply for Pokemon past #493, since the B/W Pokemon don't currently have coding for those.

    Lastly, a question: Why is this thread not Stickied, but the English-B/W Codes one is? Is it discrimination? Really, not trying to be offensive (I'm sure I am though... sorry.) but it is really weird, and seems rather unfair. Or... am I just not getting how something is Stickied? Like, it's only Sticky if it gets X-many posts per day? Sorry if that's what it is... -_-;

  20. Of course you can't do this without an Action Replay (or an equivalent cheating device). This is editing the game's save data, which is something you're not supposed to (be able to) do.

What do you mean, it does not work? Does it not load the code? What is the error you get?

I can personally confirm that these two codes (J-White/E-White) DO WORK. It's just a bit tricky to get onto the Action Replay, for some reason... -_-; It took me a while to do it; I still can't figure out what the issue is. (It will usually copy to the ARDSi as either a blank code, or as the same code as the one above it in the ARDSi's list. Weird...)

Also, make sure that you are using an Action Replay DSi, AND that it's firmware is up to date (just use the AR Manager's update button).

It MIGHT work on the regular ARDS, but I don't know. It WOULD have to be updated to the most recent firmware, which NOT ALL ARDS (basic) are capable of (such as mine T_T ).
