  1. They're not "unofficial," they're just different romanizations that make more sense given the flower theme. (But in the case of Belle, Arty, and Getis, they're just romanizations that I personally find better, so I'll give you that.) I don't really mind if people want to change them as long as they end up consistent. Also, here are the names that are longer than 10 characters and suggested shortenings: FUTACHIMARU -> FUTACHMARU CHILLACCINO -> CHILLACINO GOCHIRUZERU -> GOCHIRZERU SHIBISHIRASU -> SHIBISHIRAS (And I'm fairly sure that even if you load a save in a version that gives it a different name, even an un-nicknamed Pokemon will retain its old name because of how un-nicknamed Pokemon actually work.)
  2. Progress update: I just updated my repository, and I'm fairly sure that I've inserted everything I have in the script, with the exception of a couple of post-game things. So in theory, 100% story. But I could be wrong. (I'm guessing the unofficial patch below uses my repository as it was a couple hours ago, which was up to the Ancient Castle. So that's still most of it, and the Elite Four onward has been there for a while.) Of course, there are still plenty of untranslated trainers and other NPCs on the way. (The massive file with all trainer dialogue should have all the plot-required ones, but is around 20% done overall.) From now on, I'll probably be testing linearly, making sure things fit in the boxes and that pretty much EVERYTHING I can find is translated. (Before I went all out to insert the plot today, that process was complete up to Sky Arrow Bridge, though there was a designer's house in Shippo which I couldn't find the file for.)
  3. Yeah, I've made a fork that, among other things, fixes those. (That's how this works, right?) The whole of the Dream Lot, Makomo's room, and Sanyou City should be translated. The girl talking about types actually just tells you a random type weakness she knows - it has nothing to do with what starter you chose. It doesn't appear everything from my script has been inserted yet - I'm not sure exactly how much has been - but it should be eventually. I'll also slowly be working through NPCs, probably.
  4. Hi, I'm the guy who made the full story translation. (By the way, I just made a version with Romanji names and linked it at the top of the original, if anyone wanted that.) I've been working on my own English patch (including NPCs and such) based on version 3 of the menu patch. I've done almost everything (except some trainers on Route 3) up to the N fight before gym 2, although there are things like accessing PCs, using Cut, etc. which I haven't been able to find. If you guys are interested in using my translation, what do you think would be the best way to cooperate on this?
