Okay
I tested it myself, and it works fine for me, but I just want to make sure it works for others like you.
A note about this post:
As I was typing this, I was thinking that you were randomspot555. LOL!
I guess it's because I was expecting randomspot555 to test it out around 11:30 PM EST.
Heh, well, I still haven't found my DS but I'm gonna do a few tests that will allow me to see if your server is responding.
-
I need to find my DS, but I'd be more than happy to test it.
-
Way: We can give it a shot soon. I'm also debating on opening a support topic for questions to keep this thread clean...
-
Have you tried using ShinyGTS/DTS?
-
This isn't really that in depth....Because that part where you say "Most likely, your DS' wi-fi options are set automatically. The SSID is there, and maybe a WEP code. You can ignore them. Arrow down until you see the following option: "Auto-obtain DNS." Change this to "No." Where it says Primary DNS, click edit."
What are you saying, are you saying just click accept after this because that obviously won't work. You need to tell them how to obtain they're ip address, gateway, and subnet mask by going to cmd in search then typing, ipconfig/all. I did this and tried to work my settings and it still didn't work so could you be more in depth about this part, or could someone explain how to get this working?
All you need is to auto obtain the DNS, which is the IP address of the server. If you're running your own server, you can just use a local IP address or find your PC address from a site like www.whatsmyip.org

Well the link you gave me is for the GTS, so i'm not sure how that is going to help me run the Shiny gts unless they are relatively the same thing. My specific is i have a pokemon ready what do i do now on the gts program to send it over, what are the buttons i click? Do i send from folder after saving my pokemon in pokegen in a folder?
It's pretty straight forward on how to send the Pokemon. You need to save it from PokeGen, then send the individual Pokemon. Run the GTS and DNS servers, making sure your ports are forwarded and go from there.
-
I fixed it!
turns out the ip was wrong =P
thanks
now i have other question. How is it that you can send a folder to your DS? it displays and error wiht something about the access route not being valid, and something about the IO path
Might've been an illegal path...I could have a formatting problem on it though...I'll double check.

Hey there!
Can someone help me? You see, I keep getting the same error code on my DS: 13274
I already turned off the firewall, the ports are open, the public ip has been switched and everything's the same as I use to do it, but now I'm getting that every time.
Why's that? Is anybody else having this problem?
Thanks!
Is there any activity on ShinyDTS's GTS or DNS log?
-
Exactly what I was looking for, I don't have two DSes. How would I go about doing this?
You could try PokeGen. I don't know of any methods though. I think IR-GTS had some sort of shifter...
-
If I use this program, can I put pokemon from Soulsilver on it and then pull them out onto Pokemon black?
Technically yes. You would have to convert the Pokemon file from Gen IV to Gen V before hand otherwise you'll have some serious errors.

I have the same problem. I have done everything I can think of. made exceptions in firewall, ran as administrator, made sure ports were forwarded pretty much everything. I was able to receive Pokemon from DS to computer on XP but I now have Windows 7 and its a no go. Any help would be appreciated.
I don't know what might've changed in Windows 7. I developed the program on XP and tested it in both XP and 7 without issues (32 bit and 64 bit). I honestly don't know what else to tell everyone that still has issues despite following the general directions. It seems somewhere, maybe the ISP, maybe not, that the connection won't go through. There's nothing else I can really do at this point if it doesn't work.
-
Hmm I have all the steps good until I've selected a Pokemon to trade, and when it usually would begin to send the pokemon off to the GTS I get a communication error, and the message in my attachment. Is there something I've done wrong that you can see? I've tried this with both Gens, the image below shows the Gen 4 actions.
Ahh hell not that error message again...that usually happens when the communication doesn't go through successfully. All the data wasn't received. There's nothing I can do but suggest that you keep trying.

@formlesstree4 hey thanks for your reply, I'm pretty raw in this forum to say the least. I have been able to establish a connection, and the DNS and GTS sections chatter like they do when I send Pokemon, but I'm unsure of the method of receiving. After it connects to Shiny GTS correctly, the normal trading system comes up where I offer a Pokemon and select the one I want in return. What is the process I follow here?
Sorry to bother you.
No problem. You basically just select the pokemon you want to send and "Deposit" it. The game will say the pokemon was rejected, but in actuality, the file was accepted and written out in the proper folder.

Astro, if you read what I had said in the thread, I specifically quoted your post and replied to it. If you have no firewall running, ports forwarded, no other programs running that also utilize port 80, then the only other suggestion is that your ISP is blocking port 80 on their end.
-
I was able to start ...
believe
but I can not send files to the same
-imgsnip-
Ports are forwarded. IP is 71.229.150.150 and that is in the box. I am trying the receive option and I get all the spoofing done, but I get the communication error when trying to send to my pc. Any help?Perhaps a firewall could be blocking the connection? That's the most logical conclusion I can come to right now as I know the connection routines work.
That or ya'lls ISP is blocking port 80 and/or 53.

Hey I love your program mate! I'm just having some trouble with how to send files from the ds to the program. I've been able to send files successfully from my Laptop to the ds so far. If you've already addressed this issue, could you direct me to the correct page?
Many thanks.
Also, how do i notify people on this site?
No need to ask the same question twice I don't check this thread daily but I do read it eventually and try to respond to everyone. To send files from the DS, you have to put the program in Receive Mode and let it run. You also might need to run it as Administrator, it should work.
-
There's a socket exception when the GTS is being initialized. This indicates that you have a program running that is using Port 80. That's all I can tell you from just looking at the screenshot.
As for the DNS to use, it's in the box that's next to the button that says "Get IP".

It Just Works - Apple's Motto.
I found that immensely amusing.
It's not working if you read the log l just posted above. "There is no such file or directory"Ok l may get a time with Shiny Jirachi so he can review that mono application.
Sounds good; I think you have me on MSN or Yahoo, not sure which. Just send me a message with your MSN/Yahoo information and we'll go from there, mmk?
-
Try using "cd Users/myname/Downloads/ShinyGTS" then "mono ShinyGTS.exe"
-
Type in:
mono "path-to-exe.exe"
Quotes might not be necessary, but I would do them for good measure.
-
l tried install Mono but not really what l'm supposed to do is there somekind of tutorial or video? Either l'm lost on this.
If you downloaded it from the site and installed the .dmg (I think it gives a .dmg), try opening Terminal and typing "mono" and pressing enter. It should do -something-.
-
Wine wouldn't run this, it requires Mono. You need to be running OSX 10.5 or above and have X11 installed; that should be good enough to get ShinyGTS running.
-
Hi formlesstree4, Do you have any plans on making release of this on MAC OSX? (just wondering) since l recently got a iMac and really interested in continue use this on my new computer.
You can PM me answer if you like.
Thanks
W-T
I'll check to see if the program is Mono compatible. Part of me feels it isn't, but if it is you should be able to run the current version on Mac OSX just fine.

Hi there, if anyone can give me a good answer to this:
Since it says here you have "Gen V Support", is it possible to PokéTransfer Pokemon from Gen 4 to Gen 5 using Shiny GTS, or other programs? If so can you give me the link to a tutorial please?
Thanks
ShinyGTS does not have any migration control. You have to do that by hand. The support is sending Gen V files to Gen V games, sorry.
