Try using Shiny2, I don't support Shiny GTS, because it was buggy and would randomly throw those exceptions.

Hey, I'm a big fan of these GTS-emulators, and I got very frustrated a few months ago when IR-GTS stopped working for me. So, after I finished school for the year, I've been looking around for other programs to use, but nothing seems to work. So, I'm going to try to get this one working.
I used the Open Port Check Tool (on the OP) and it says my Port 53 isn't reachable (Connection timed out). I think this might be the issue that's been holding up my GTS-ing for months. The only issue is I've made rules for my Windows Firewall (I have Windows 7) allowing both ports 80 and 53 to be open on the right protocol. I've also used my Router's Port Forwarding to allow both ports, again with the proper protocol.
So my question is what do I do now? I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing seems to be working. I've checked my computer for anything using those two ports, but come up with nothing. Has anyone else had these problems?
Thank you for your help in advance.
You might have something utilizing the port. Besides, Port 53 is UDP (connection-less). There's no guarantee that any program, without a receiving program ready, can listen to it. Honestly, it's a hit and miss, and, just because you actually did forward it, doesn't mean your router is actually forwarding them properly. I've had that issue before.

I got it working by using ShinyGTS's DNS server and IR-GTS BW.
1. Open ShinyGTS and Start DNS server. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?14416-Shiny-GTS-Now-with-Gen-V-support!-%28Now-announcing-Shiny-DTS!%29
2. Open IR-GTS and follow the instructions
I was able to send and receive Pokemon as usual using IR-GTS
I actually recommend Shiny2. It's more developed, stable, and supported by me. ShinyDTS and GTS are not supported anymore because the source code that powers them is an absolute mess.

Ummmm, on pokemon platinum recently I have added 204.45.29.54 to my dns on my ds lite, and after I save settings, and press b twice. I start my file, I get a blue screen saying something about the union room. -.- Then my game screen becomes white. This has only happened twice.
That's because the DNS you've added is for the GTS only. If I recall, Willaien might have implemented a filter (similar to what I'm implementing) to block certain requests, leaving the Union Room unable to be connected to. Just remove the DNS IP you added and you should be fine. If you want, I'd recommend you post the full error message to further diagnose the problem.

That's not a nintendo problem, because if i try using the official GTS, it works perfectly. I guess there's something wrong with the pokegts?
Look up the error code Rosso. Error code 13247, like I linked, indicates high traffic on the GTS server of Nintendo. That does not mean the official GTS will stop working, it means that some traffic does not get processed in a timely manner.
I'd just like to know if this is gonna be fixed or not, because i seriously need the GTS senderIt will, but it's Nintendo's side, not ours.
Black, i guess that is why... Did this happened before? It's not like they're closing the pokeGTS right? ._.
No.
There's something like some "official" comments about this? Or still no news?Comments from Nintendo or PokeGTS? If PokeGTS, then Willaien already posted at the start of this thread right after me. As for Nintendo, not that I'm aware of. I have not bothered to go through the whole thread to see what all has happened, but this is the news I have. Just relax, it'll blow over soon.
-
If I recall correctly, a 13247 is a Nintendo error which handles communication before, during, and after the spoofing process. A quick look at their Error code site shows high player quantity online, or the service being offline. Try again tomorrow, I would think it'd be online again.

Just a little update; the progress is going moderately well. The current SVN version -should- compile and run just fine, however, I don't know how well it'll do. In other news, I'm moving, so updates are going to be staggered a bit until that's all straightened out.
-
This version is really working, thanks man! You did a great job
I do what I can

Sounds awesome, thanks for the continued development formlesstree! :kikkoman:
No problem, it's a useful tool, so why not continue to develop it?
I have also now uploaded the source code to Shiny2. It's obviously unstable, and I do not guarantee it will compile, but it's there. I will now be doing all new releases through the CodePlex page, simply because it's simple and efficient to do so, but don't worry, I'll still announce it here.

There will be a new update rolling out soon, be on the look out for the new template system.

I also haven't had any problems with this release randomly crashing on Windows 7 x64. The original would stop responding about once every 12 hours, requiring a restart but this one has been pretty solid so far. *knocks on wood*
That problem was actually fixed in the previous release. It was a silly problem that sometimes would take out the system, and sometimes wouldn't, very strange. But it was patched as well, so all should be well. I'm going to update the main post with the new version now.
-
This seems to be working, thanks! :bidoof:
It was my DNS checking routine. I have to fix that since it will be quite helpful and save GTS hits, but I'm glad it's all working.
-
Okay, try this version. I completely removed any link checking in the DNS so it should always allow the connection. If it doesn't, then something else is the problem and I'm going to be extremely sad.
-
Any word on this working again yet?Doesn't work for me neitherI also can't seem to get the new version up and running. I am using the original release from a few weeks ago. Here is a mirror if anyone wants to use it in the meantime.
I assume it starts up, but then the DNS has issues. It's gotta be in one of the routines. I have some free time right now so I'm going to take a quick look at it.

Shiny2 is written in C#; as were some of the older GTS systems. C# is a powerful language backed by a nice framework. If you have any specific questions I can definitely answer them.

I can't even think what would cause anything like what has been happening. It seems like its connecting, then the ds signal bar goes red, gives me error 52100 and kicks me off
In the DNS code I think I reversed a certain call that would cause the system to stop responding under certain circumstances. I haven't seen it yet...but I'm still looking.
-
can you repost the old version please
The original ShinyGTS and DTS can be found by browsing the Miscellaneous section; it exists, trust me. I did not delete it, just simply request the thread to not be a sticky. Rayth, I'm still going through the code, don't see anything off hand that'd indicate a problem.

Just in case you forgot..
I had a pretty bad weekend at work so I haven't gotten to it yet. I will soon.
-
Ok now it isn't letting me connect to the GTS at all. I have the DNS set up correctly as it was working before. The DNS log just has
I've tried using the program on lan ip and external ip, and also changed DS's DNS to both local and external to match the computer. Neither is working and DS just returns error code 52100. The program isn't blocked by firewall and all the port forwarding is correct. As I said it worked prior to this update apart from the other bug
...I might have screwed up the DNS by accidentally patching something. I'll look into it tonight. I'm terribly sorry.
-
There is a new version in the OP, try installing it and see if it keeps crashing.
-
Yeah, it looks like it's trying to select a Pokemon outside the appropriate index. It's a minor fix and I'll have it done in a jiffy.
-
Rayth, you've been quite active in this thread!
Okay,
1) You cannot send and receive at the same time. It's just not possible.
2) As for your bug, it might be a bug in the selection of Pokemon. I'll have to look into it.

Hi there, first off I just wanted to say thanks for such an awesome program, I love it! I had a question about the "Browser Message" in Extra Options. I saw all of the variables that were in there that can be used, but I was wondering what else I can put in there? Will regular HTML work or does it have to be something different? Thanks!
Regular HTML is exactly what's supposed to go there. You can almost treat it like an HTML editor; JavaScript and CSS can be embedded. The variables that are given are just for processing purposes.

My IP address is 192.168.xxx.xxx, at least that's the one listed in my ipconfig and that's the one I used for my DSi.
When I tried using my external IP in my DSi it wouldn't pass the connection test, so kind of at a loss for what to do.
As for being connected for the same network, I wouldn't know... any way to find out?
By the way, thanks for the reply. Didn't really expect to get one so quickly.
Ah wait, hold on, I figured it out. Turns out I was using the wrong IP... I was using the one for Default Gateway rather than IPv4. Figured it out, got my Pokes, and everything worked great. My fault on not reading your instructions properly.
...
Okay um, one more problem (and I know I've edited this post like a thousand times already)... when I transfer my Pokemon to the game through the GTS, it recieves them at the correct level but they are fainted with 0hp and 0 all stats. I can use a rare candy on them any them go to level 1 with the correct stat boosts however. I'm wondering if this is supposed to happen or if you know any way I could possibly fix this.
Go to the GTS with a full party and let it go to your box. That's the easiest way to prevent any problems.

The GTS uses Port 80 while the DNS uses 53. Something is either blocking your Port (whether you know it or not), or something is misconfigured. Those are the only real reasons it would not work. Are you absolutely positive everything is configured correctly on your router, and that you have no firewall blocking port 80, and you have no other programs that use the same port, such as Apache, IIS, Teamviewer, or Skype loaded at the same time?
