Legends ZA - Stuck on loading screen after changing player character's gender

As the title says.

I was curious if the game would change the rival's gender on its own depending on my character's gender (and I also wanted to evolve my Inkay but that's unrelated) so I tried changing the female MC to the male one but when launching the game, I get stuck in an eternal loading screen (the one right after the title screen).
There's no issue when changing back to the female MC.

Am I doing something wrong?

Depending on how things are implemented there are probably a bunch of flags which change depending on your gender and thus only changing that one is likely putting the game in an unloadable state. So if you want to actually change the gender and have things running you most likely will need to do some playing of the game with the different gender and document flags which is likely more effort than it is worth.

Just to add on, maybe for the past decade, save gender related switching is tied to too many flags and little story beats. I’m not surprised the game ends up like that.

Best way is to simply replay the game, it isn’t worth the trouble. If you aren’t trying to swap Taunie vs Urbain, you may not even want to bother, since you could just change your fashion to match whichever gender you want to be.
