Islushy Posted April 13 Posted April 13 So i've had this problem where I saved in the void in pokemon diamond. Now when i load up the save file though it's just a black screen with no sound and just a black screen. Is there anyone that can help me step by step. My discord user is komishiyouko
SkyLink98 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 You may try to load the save file in PKHeX and changing the Map Coordinates. Might take valid coordinates from another save file. Don't attempt glitches without making a save file backup first.
Islushy Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 problem is i don't know how to get the files onto pkhex 1. how do i extract 2. any safe cords you can give for pokemon diamond?
SkyLink98 Posted April 14 Posted April 14 See here for various methods to dump NDS save files: https://projectpokemon.org/home/tutorials/save-editing/managing-nds-saves/ Alternatively, if you have a NDS fat/lite, with an open wifi network you can use ftp dumping with this tool: https://github.com/AdmiralCurtiss/nds-savegame-manager/releases You can take coords from another save file, you can start a new one and take them from there, or download an user contributed save file.
Islushy Posted April 16 Author Posted April 16 because my character was just in the void it should be savable right?
theSLAYER Posted April 16 Posted April 16 @Islushy try this, read and follow all the instructions on the page, keep a safe unedited backup somewhere, use at your own risk
Islushy Posted May 2 Author Posted May 2 Hey back here again. So do i have to save the game on checkpoint or will it just automatically show up?

Install as CIA or use 3DSX (launch via homebrew launcher) May need to reload/refresh titles. Once you see the game, just dump it. 1. Dump the save 2. Use the tool I link above to fix coordinates 3. Open the 'fixed' save in PKHeX, then save using PKheX (this is to fix checksums) 4. Restore the save into the game. Make sure you keep safe save backups throughout the process, in case anything goes wrong.

Islushy Posted May 5 Author Posted May 5 No it's not. That's my question if I don't have checkpoint before will my saved files not show?
theSLAYER Posted May 6 Posted May 6 18 hours ago, Islushy said: No it's not. That's my question if I don't have checkpoint before will my saved files not show? “Will my saved files not show?” Maybe I’m misunderstanding something, let’s restart: To be clear, if your 3DS isn’t hacked (homebrew usage or full CFW) you won’t be able to extract your NDS save file. It’s stored on the cartridge of the NDS cart. There’s no official way to dump saves, so AFAIK having an updated eShop isn’t relevant. Thus, save files “will not show for download” by default. Every 3DS model is hackable, you can read https://3ds.hacks.guide on how to do it, all at your own risk. The (more painful) alternative would be using an NDS flashcart (such as R4) and to transfer the save over FTP. You’ll need a NDS or NDS lite for this. Skylink also pretty much said what was required in a well structured reply above..
theSLAYER Posted May 6 Posted May 6 1 hour ago, Islushy said: So as long as I hack it I should set to go? Well, hacking your 3DS is the bare minimum. 1. Hack 3DS 2. install a save manager 3. dump the save game 4. keep a back up of the save game on your computer elsewhere (that won't get modified ever) 5. try to figure out what's wrong with the save (check a hex editor, check PKHeX, send to someone who may know etc). There's a chance your save file is dead, but we won't know until we check it.
Islushy Posted May 6 Author Posted May 6 Do you by any chance know anyone? Also I can get into the save and shows the notebook so I'm prettys sure it should be fine Also to check the sums I can just use pkhex right?

You could first try the map resetter tool I linked, and if it fails I can give it a go and yes PKHeX fixes checksums for you.
Islushy Posted May 6 Author Posted May 6 thank you man also to give you more incite on my problem 1. so as you know i saved my game in the void trying to go to newmoon island for darkrai but saved in a bad spot. now it shows me a black screen whenever i load up the save file. However the only reason why I'm keeping hope is the fact that the notebook is showing up and saying what's happened so far. So as far as i am aware the save file shouldn't be corrupted but instead just a bit messed up for the cords. so yeah. thanks again for the help going to try to hack this 3ds and will get back to you about what happens. thank you

If it doesn’t, well, I have other tricks up my sleeve that should work. For now, just read through the guide carefully and safely hack your 3DS first.
Islushy Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 Thank you man. This save file is old as me (ps I'm 18) it means a lot to me and the pokemon community is gonna make this boy cry

Islushy Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 Alright. I'll give it a go this week and if I can't get it working I'll send it over
Islushy Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 alright it's been a while but I really want to give a big thanks. I never thought I would be able to hear the music of pokemon diamond again and see my game alive once more. Truly I am grateful for the help and I hope that I can continue to receive help throughout my journey of these old games. Once again thank you.
