0VERXHEAVEN Posted yesterday at 07:21 AM Posted yesterday at 07:21 AM I see that already in PKHeX there's a button that unlocks all fashion, and upon using it I do have every clothing option unlocked (including DLC clothing), but this button did not affect the DLC hairstyle options in my Scarlet save. I'm unsure if this is a bug or something that's just not implemented in PKHeX yet, I've done plenty of searching but I couldn't find the DLC hairstyles mentioned anywhere. Nothing I do seems to unlock them, so I've come to ask if I'm experiencing a bug or not.
sora10pls Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Hairstyles are not fashion items, and are therefore not stored the same way. You can try to find the relevant save blocks yourself (if they exist), or you can just buy the DLC.
0VERXHEAVEN Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Thanks for that super helpful answer. I've compared the saves of my Violet file that does have DLC and I can't identify anything relating to hairstyle - I don't know what determines which bytes are named, whether that's actually in the save or what PKHeX devs have identified, but regardless the relevant block is one of many possibilities that are currently unnamed. That's about as much as I can research at this time.
sora10pls Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Generally speaking, cosmetic changes are very low priority in terms of research, especially for things that can be adjusted freely in-game. The process of someone documenting which relevant save blocks need to be adjusted would be no different from a PKHeX developer doing it and any other user doing it, so it is left up to whoever feels the most driven to do the research. DLC is already over a year old, proving this is very low priority. You should be comparing save files before and after the relevant style cards have been received to reduce the number of changes, making it easier to pinpoint where and how the data is stored.
Atrius97 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago There does appear to be *Bool KUnlockedHairSalonUpgrade02 in the block data. I'm unsure if that's what you're looking for, but I don't see any other "hairstyle unlock" blocks in the documented block data so far, which could mean the changes you're after are indeed not documented yet.
0VERXHEAVEN Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Oh! I hadn't seen KUnlockedHairSalonUpgrade02 because I was comparing a save with the first DLC, adjusting this value has successfully unlocked the hairstyles associated with Indigo Disc, but not the ones from Teal Mask. Presumably there's a KUnlockedHairSalonUpgrade01 somewhere, but I suppose because it's not listed among the blocks means it hasn't been identified yet. Thank you Atrius, now we know what's needed. Looking forward to that block being documented.
0VERXHEAVEN Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Great news! I noodled around and decided to change the block with the closest number below KUnlockedHairSalonUpgrade02 (1922C364), and that was it! Bool block ID 1922C87D controls whether Teal Mask hairstyle upgrades are unlocked. Thanks again! That's all I needed.
