Attempted to load an unsupported file type/size

my pokemon ultra sun isn't loading in pkhex. it's saying "Attempted to load an unsupported file type/size. this could be caused by loading a different generation on pokemon file on an unsupported generation or your file is corrupted." Is there any way to fix this?

You need to save ingame normally, don't use save states.

Via the in-game menu, not the emulator's menu. Save twice to be sure.
