memjee Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Well this is my first UU team ever, so it probably needs a lot of work. Help is appreciated. It's not a well thought out team, as I just slapped together pokemon I felt like using. But it's working out pretty well so far. Dugtrio (M) @ Focus Sash Ability: Arena Trap EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Night Slash - Stealth Rock - Reversal Info: Picked this lead because I figured Focus Sash in conjuction with Reversal would work really well. It works alright. If I can beat my oppenent's lead... I always do. --- Hitmontop (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Intimidate EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 SDef Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Bullet Punch - Mach Punch - Fake Out - Rapid Spin Info: My ultimate weak pokemon pick offer. With rapid spin. --- Scyther (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Technician EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Bug Bite - Aerial Ace - Pursuit - Swords Dance Info: Bug Bite pretty much does the exact amount of damage as X-scissor when factoring Technician and stab. Although it can steal and eat the oppenents berries this is a pretty rare circumstance, but possible. Aerial Ace finishes up twin 120 base damage attacks. Sword dance if I ever can. --- Chansey (F) @ Leftovers Ability: Natural Cure EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SDef Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Aromatherapy - Thunder Wave - Softboiled - Seismic Toss Info: Basically a mini blissey. --- Rhyperior (M) @ Liechi Berry Ability: Solid Rock EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 SDef Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Rock Polish - Stone Edge - Substitute Info: Rhyperior and alakazam made it's transition to UU. That's one of the main reasons I decided to make this team. This dude has been very effective. One Rock Polish makes me pretty fast. If I fell my attacks aren't as powerful as they could be I keep subbing until I get the leichi berry attack boost. --- Alakazam (M) @ Choice Specs Ability: Inner Focus EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/4 SDef Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Psychic - Signal Beam - Hidden Power [Fighting] - Trick Info: Specs alakazam, stab Psychic's off a 552 special attack is jaw dropping. I choose hidden power fighting because I can't stand when focus blast misses, alakazam is too fragile to miss. Signal beam for psychic and dark pokemon. Trick specs is funny. ---
wraith89 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Dugtrio, while surprising as a lead, is actually not so effective unless their lead was something like Heatran (but this is UU I see). I wanted to toy around with its new Reversal, but coming off an 80 base attack... it just does not work. If you want a UU Reversal user try Scyther or Blaziken... they seriously work provided you keep away from priority or use priority yourself as your last resort. Try moving Scyther as your lead because I found Scyther lead quite effective. I use this set: Scyther @ Focus Sash Hasty Nature (- Def actually helps here) 252 Atk/252 Speed Technician - Counter - Swords Dance - Aerial Ace/Quick Attack - Reversal/Bug Bite It takes down at least 1-3 Pokemon. Works a lot but easily revenge killed. As for Dugtrio, save him up as a surprise. I would run... Dugtrio @ Life Orb/Choice Band Jolly/Adamant Nature 252 Atk/252 Speed Arena Trap - Earthquake - Stone Edge/Rock Slide - Sucker Punch - Aerial Ace Dugtrio should be a surprise utility to come in and revenge kill stuff that are weakened. Use Choice Band for more power or Life Orb if you want versatility, it is entirely up to you. Dugtrio's 35 base HP is not surviving anything =/ Hitmontop looks good, but if you want it as a spinner, try running a more defensive EV spread (max out its 50 HP!) 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Speed or something like that. You can also run Foresight so that if you expect a ghost to switch in you can Rapid Spin anyways, but whatever you are trying to accomplish it is up to you. Chansey looks all right too... Now for Rhyperior... WHY did that scary rhino fall to UU? o_o Honestly I found Rock Polish Aggron quite scary in OU, but not as useful in UU, so I am not sure if Rhyperior will be any good for that either. Try running Megahorn somewhere or Slowbro will walk all over you. Now Alakazam... what Lord Koffing was thinking when he anointed that scary psycho sweeper into the fields of UU, I have NO idea. However, since he is UU, just remember... priority moves run rampant here as well. Something like an Aqua Jet from Azumarill is a guaranteed OHKO, and Absol's Sucker Punch eats Alakazam alive. That is why I wouldn't really run TrickSpecs here. A better option is to run Substitute where Trick is and run Life Orb instead. If you have a Substitute on, you are safe from Absol's Sucker Punch and Pursuit will not be a problem either while your HP Fighting or Signal Beam will eat up your foes. You can also try Calm Mind if it appeals or Encore, it screws up many things. I am not expecting Alakazam to stay in UU for so long, but since it is there according to our lord protectorate Cromwell, er, I mean Smogon... oh well =/ That is my post for today... I did not put much thought into what the team is actually weak to though, but it looks rather frail from my perspective. You might want some defensive wall of some kind like Steelix or Drapion. Otherwise, I am not so sure... so farewell.
memjee Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 Alright thanks for the advice. - Scyther is now my lead. - Made a Choice Band Dugtrio - I already had my hitmotops Evs maxed out in Hp, but I've also given it 252 Atk 4 speed. - Rhyperior, gave it megahorn, I'll keep it at rock polish for now because it's been working great so far. - Very true on the sucker punch absol, did not realized that was such a used pokemon at the UU tier. I'm running substitute alakazam now -
