Bagon and Blue Basculin

Hello,

I was looking into my shinies, and noticed this one in particular was flagged as Illegal in PKHeX.

Specifically, the error is:

Invalid: Unable to match an encounter from origin game.
Invalid: Can't have ball for encounter type.

Fishy: SID is zero.
Valid: Nickname does not match another species name.
Valid: Current level is not below met level.
Valid: All ribbons accounted for.
Valid: Ability matches ability number.
Valid: Form is Valid.
Valid: Gender matches PID.
Valid: Nature matches PID.
Valid: History block is valid.
Valid: Geolocation: Country is in 3DS region.

Encounter Type: Invalid (Bagon)
Origin Seed: 29A378BD
PID Type: Method_1

This Bagon in particular was chained in Platinum, Route 210 - North, and has not gained any exp since.

However, I've gotten conflicting reports as to if method 1 is valid for chained shinies.

 

As for Blue Striped Basculin, is it intentional for PKHeX to allow you to set the original game as Ultra Moon, with its hidden ability (and at least 2 IVs to 31), even though it cannot call for help.  It does have a call value of 9, but never actually calls for help in game.

Bagon is currently level 14...

Can't be encountered outside that level range.

I'm not aware of anything definitive that Basculin-1 can't call for help, since others with a call rate of 9 can call.

I was using Serebii as a source for Bagon, https://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/location/371.shtml#platinum

However I don't have an actual platinum cartridge to check on it anymore.

 

As for Basculin, it also only is for the Blue Striped form, as the red stripe does call for help.  I could do a recording from my phone of it later, however until then here is a link to another with the same issue.

Just encountered this level Bagon on PLatinum.

For some odd reason, the level disagrees w/ both Bulba and serebii..

edit:
so far, encountered 2 Lv 29, and 1 lv 28. and then another one.

I haven't met any encounters outself of Lv 28 and Lv 29.

Sorry for the wait on Blue-Striped Basculin; I work full-time.

Here is a video of my brooklet hill SOS attempt on Ultra Moon V1.2, downloaded version, not the cartridge.  If I can provide any other tests/details, please let me know!

The video is 8 7 minutes of waiting for it to struggle, I recommend watching in double speed... 

 

Thanks for checking into the Bagon, theSLAYER.  Most likely my memory of chaining it could be wrong due to just how long ago that was, like 7 years iirc.

I am probably going to pick up a cartridge and spend the time to look into it deeper, mostly because I do not want to be the one spreading around bad information...
