Poryhack Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 (edited) I think the title pretty much says it all here. There's at least a couple unofficial logos that have made it into translations but I haven't seen the official one yet. Yeah some of them are probably better than the official ones but I'll leave that up to you... Download replacement NARC Replace the /a/0/4/6 file with that one; I recommend using Nitro Explorer for the job. Edited October 11, 2009 by Poryhack
Ellie Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 WOW! These are great, they look perfect. I would really like to see these in the translated version.
Poryhack Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 I added a link to Nitro Explorer for convenience. I encourage you to insert the NARC yourself if you like it.
Parma Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) HAHA! I've been wanting to do this! Good thing I still know how to use NE. One thing though... I want to Photoshop that stupid-ass "Version" that's at the bottom of it out of it. No idea how to edit a narc file like that. Change it to .bmp or .jpeg whatever, edit it, and change it back to .narc? Just the idea I got... gonna try it. Edit: Nope. Went horribly wrong. Redownloaded... Edited October 12, 2009 by Parma Nope.
Poryhack Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 Yeah it's not that simple... At some point I may try to write a tool to convert standard images into the various Nitro graphics formats. Don't get your hopes up for now though.
pokehackster Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 0.0 awesome now i can actualy finish my translation and have it look 90% real
YayMii Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Hey Poryhack, I'm going to be using your logo for my translation at GBAtemp. This is great!
June Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Ugh, I really dislike the official English logos. The one in Kazowar's translation is amazing, though. I wish the official logo looked like that.
i am r4ymond Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Uh, for the Nitro Explorer, what was the Use for it? I didn't really need to use the Nitro Explorer. All I did was put in the NARC file that I downloaded from your Link and replaced the 6.narc file in \a\0\4\6 and it worked fine. Btw, thanks for the Image, Poryhacks!
Poryhack Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Well Nitro Explorer is just one tool that can be used to do that. I suppose you used some other method but IMO Nitro Explorer is easiest. Glad that people like this.
YayMii Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Well, since I'm doing a translation, I just replaced the correct file with thenewpoketext.
Parma Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Sorry June, I'll have to disagree. Excluding the word version at the bottom, this is ENTIRELY better looking than that... thing Kazo has in his patch. But not comparing that with the real logo... it's pretty damn sweet.
Arandomproduction1 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I kind of like Kazo's better because it looks more like the official one, but this one is more original.
Poryhack Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 Well, since I'm doing a translation, I just replaced the correct file with thenewpoketext. Oh, I forgot about that. Technically the extraction of the ROM's filesystem was ndstool and not thenewpoketext (they are by completely different people).
YayMii Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I kind of like Kazo's better because it looks more like the official one, but this one is more original.I don't get what you're saying. This IS the official logo. How can an unofficial logo be more official? BTW, there's a glitch when using your logo. If you sit through the opening cinematic, garbled graphics appear at the bottom of the screen.

I've sat through the ho-oh/lugia clip several times and not noticed anything.

I suppose you used some other method but IMO Nitro Explorer is easiest.Glad that people like this. Actually, I didn't really use Any Other tools to Move the Pictures into the Rom. <_< All I did was Drag and Replace the Japanese Logo with the English Logo. Anyways, thanks a lot for this!
YayMii Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Sorry for bumping, but this is the problem: It usually happens when skipping the cinematic when it's 50% done.
Poryhack Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 (edited) I'm not going to try to recreate it myself atm, so I'll go ahead and assume that everything is as it should be and this is still happening. I was experiencing some semi-similar problems before; anytime the logo graphic got bigger than a certain size it would just scramble the remaining part. That size however was significantly larger than the size of the Japanese logo. I couldn't do anything about the issue so I settled for having the logo slightly smaller than I originally intended. As for this new issue, I'm afraid there's nothing I can think of to even try to prevent it. Maybe it's a memory problem? Edited November 30, 2009 by Poryhack
YayMii Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I found somewhere else where it happens. If you go to "PokéWalker" or "Mystery Gift" on the Continue/New Game screen, then return to the title screen, the glitch shows.
