Stranger's Roserade fainted. wraith89 wins! wraith89: gg Stranger: Good game Stranger has left the room. Shadow Ball will not blast through Gardevoir's bloated special defense, not with my crazy SpDef investment... but Psychic with STAB and minimal investment still hurt (98% though). Oh well... good match. FAQs 1) Your team had no sync whatsoever! Why use them? I was testing some Pokemon out with another member here... but I was challenged right away =P 2) Care to tell me what that Nidoqueen is made out of? Well, I gave her max HP and heavy defense investment... let me check... Regina the Nidoqueen@Lum Berry Poison Point Bold Nature 252 HP/204 Def/52 Speed - Stealth Rock - Taunt - Earth Power - Flamethrower It's an interesting set really. The Speed hits 201... outpacing stuff that sits in 200 (I don't know if Pokemon do that anymore though really, but just to be on the safe side). The rest goes to Defence I guess. Taunt is helpful against stuff like Scizor or Blissey and Skarmory I guess... and is useful on a lead... but Nidoqueen is generally too slow against your "standard" leads. Earth Power is for STAB and Flamethrower deals with Steels like Skarmory and Scizor. I decided to use Special Attacks because most Pokemon that tend to switch in have more physical defense than special defense... but Earthquake/Elemental Punch also works... but as you can see, I was lucky since that evil Infernape burned me, which would make my Earthquake fail to OHKO something as frail as an ape. If you would like, try Ice Beam or Thunderbolt in that slot with Flamethrower... Ice Beam is good on dragons and Gliscor and other stuff while Thunderbolt destroys Gyarados and still hurts Skarmory. Funny thing is, Ice/Ground has a very good coverage, but is resisted by Bronzong. I might think about changing her EVs though... maybe 201 Speed isn't a good idea because the benchmark nowadays is 180... 3) Who is Stranger? Frankly I have no idea... some random visitor I guess. Thanks to: Nidoqueen: What an interesting lead... my early game skills may be better than before... but still shaky... Skarmory: For putting up a good fight Weavile: For being an efficient revenge killer Stealth Rocks: For securing the OHKOs/2HKOs You: For reading
Toffeuy Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 0.0 most of the battle was using not very effective moves on Skarmory... and what's with Clefable, last time it was Greencat's Wife this time it's Greencat.
Varna Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 0.0 most of the battle was using not very effective moves on Skarmory... Whatever wins, right?
Illithian Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Wraith, no one runs 200 speed. If you must, YOU could run 200 speed, outspeeding Tangrowth, but at the moment you speed tie Tropius. If you want to be speedy, run 230 speed; more defensive, run 200 or 210. Or run 197, although you might as well just run 200 at that point.

I'm still used to Advance generation when people loved letting stuff sit at 200 >.> Hey, but theoretically if people DO run 200 to outpace Tangrowth, so... why not? If it's all "standard" people... I guess I will run 210 to outpace those things that hit 209.
