answered ROM Hacking Introductions?

Hi! I really, really, really want to get into ROM hacking! But I have minimal experience, which isn't helping. I've already learned how to edit sprites from the pinned topics, but I'd appreciate ANYONE showing me the way to some helpful programs or links. Thanks!

which generation of roms are you looking at?

Generation 4. I already have ROMs for Diamond and Platinum, and have the resources to edit sprites. I'm lost as to anything beyond that

First off, we have this page that lists tools by generation:

I'll say rom hacking depends on what you wanna do, how minor or major the task you have in mind is.
