when they say make them happy what do they really mean

so i recently got 2 eevees and i want to make them into espieon and umbreon (bad speller)and a online pokedex said that i have to make them happy at night /day but what does this mean make them like you than get them to a multiple of 10? or just lvl them up after you make them like you or what ???

EX. rilou turned into lucario at lvl 20 eevee turned into espieon at lvl 10

To make a Pokemon happy you can feed it berries, keep it in your party long enough, and give it other items to hold (I believe it's the sooth bell that helps with increasing a pokemon's happiness, but I could be wrong).

There is an application on DPPt for the Poketch that will show you how much the pokemon likes you.

Or you could use pokesav and make the happiness max (255)

it means using the friendship checker the pokemon has two hearts when you tap it

Plus leveling it up, and giving your pokemon massages then you can make it happy too!

Oh, okay. I understand what you were talking about.

A pokemon that evolves because of it's happiness level doesn't have a set level it has to be at before it evolves. As long as it meets the happiness level required for the evolution it'll evolve no matter what level it is.
