I hate to be a redundant one and create another one but the title specifically says "(U)" without indication for others so...

Is it possible to convert some American codes to European codes? Blue PMD EU and USA do seem to have code differences (to the point where earlier Sky Editors classified the Pokemon as lvl 109 Unown) and some of the codes in the American one seem cool to use, like seeing the stairs, enemies and whatnot just like a code for Sky but alas not for Blue.

Also, and this is pretty common, is there a 100% recruit code in the works? For any version (USA AND/OR EU)? It is pretty sad that again, Sky has this kind of code before Blue or other PMD versions.

I hate to be a drag but I'm mainly requesting codes for the EU version (bar the recruitment). I still play the game trying to get some Pokemon to no avail and I don't like hacking them in as much as actually finding it.

Anywho, I really hope this is possible.

I'm a bit too lazy to convert "start every floor with full map" atm. I'm missing an address needed so the entire floor won't turn into stairs. Finding one which fit the purpose took quite a bit of trial and error last time.

Same deal with "start every floor on stairs," since it has side effects in boss rooms without another address.

I dun really care where i start so long as I can see the stairs, some recruitments take many floors I don't mind exploring if I can see where I'm going, I don't need to insta-start. There's a code in Sky that has the full map but you don't start on the stairs. You basically get a luminous orb effect; that's not possible in Blue?

What's taking so long for the recruitment code? Sky has this before Blue, I'd expect Blue would be easier since it's older unless it has something different to it.

If you could bug Martin for a trace logger in NO$GBA Debugger, I'd make it. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I haven't even looked into how the game determines whether or not you can recruit a Pokémon, but I'm pretty sure trying to find it through normal means would be tedious.

Easily. I just chose not to.

That would probably be the simpler solution if I knew how to trigger using an item, though. The way my code works is it manually sets every tile's mapped flag.

I have no idea how recruitment works in any game.

I'd think it'd be simpler than Sky, I mean, it's an older game lol.

So the luminous orb effect would be possible somehow? Great, just gotta find how that triggers.

Ik, I was just saying because I have seen and used a recruitment code for Sky, you press Select and L and R to disable and enable whenever. It must be something related to the chances you get from levels and Friend Bows.

Plus the question has been on everywhere dating back to 2007, it does need to be taken care of.

Older != simpler. In this case, knowing Chunsoft, it's probably exactly the same. :P

Oh, I guess I miscommunicated that. I know how to trigger the luminous orb effect (set mapped flag to 1 instead of 2), but I don't know how item usage works, which is a possible alternative to finding the address needed to prevent turning the entire floor into stairs.

I found no lead from searching the supposed recruitment chance differences in a RAM Search. It's probably all in the asm, making it significantly more difficult to find.

Although thinking about it again does give me an idea. Setting a breakpoint to the item held by the leader should work well.

With the only changes being you don't have the risk of losing them (since if they faint they're out forever)? I'd just think it'd be different somewhat.

Well just gotta find how item usage works so we can have luminous orb effects 24/7. It seems simpler, guess testing items could work. I mean, having a luminous orb + items and enemies would probably work to the code like from Sky better than just stairs.

It has to do with the chances somewhat probs. I mean, again, that Sky code alters it to 100% each one. Heck, I believe that code went so far as to allow me to recruit Pokemon from Temporal Tower in the main story I believe, which I'm not sure of (I played Sky to test differences, my original was Time and it had no allowance for Temporal Tower recruits as usual) because I left it on as a joke to see if they'd come and they actually legit did.

So if your idea works, if I'm getting this correctly, hack the friend bow or an item to 100% max rate, then have the leader hold it and bust whatever Pokemon in sight and have them recruited? (if available in-dungeon lol)

Dang, it's been so long since these games and their recruitment rates still bother us to this day lol

guess it dun matter. Ok then.

I had a thought; what if we could alter the Sky code to work for Blue? Usually the trigger to turn 100% on is L+Select and then the off button is R+Select. If they're so similar then maybe the code could be easier? Not really sure but it could be possible.

As for figuring out luminous orbs, idk...

Hello? Is this thread dead? I really don't wanna just put this to rest for eternity...

Why has the recruitment code been so hard to create? I'm just curious what factors go into making that be so hard. You hit an enemy, game determines percentage and rate and you either get it or not. How come it's that difficult?

I think I'll attempt to create it, but you should try as well just to see that it might not be as easy as you think.

I didn't think it was so hard, see. I thought it might have been something a little simple.

Nice work though. Thank you, I'm sure many people will be grateful, like myself :)

If it was simple, it would have been done already. ;)

The hardest part in making these kind of codes is choosing a *good* address to set a breakpoint on that will make tracing easier.

Anyway, Ixkli21 from GameHacking.org has tested my code and reported that the game will crash if you attempt to recruit a mirage Deoxys from Meteor Cave. I have a few more codes that I might look into and then I'm done with this game.

Simplicity is far from synonymous with easiness. It's what makes the difference between spaghetti code and mythical "good code"

Sorry for the necropost but it's important, @Demonic722 is it possible to port this code to red rescue team? Since they're using the same engine i don't think that it's gonna be hard, i know that some easy recruits code already exist but the way they work isn't 100% recruit chance, with your code you can recruit EVERY pokemon, but with the other public ones you need to be high level so it will be almost 90%.. i think you changed the game's routine for the recruit check that's why i need this.

Hey all, I was so happy when I saw this thread. I finally discovered the 100% recruit code, FINALLY!

Anyway, after 10 years I'm still searching for a specific code. I think this code would be super easy to make; I'm just not into this technical stuff, so I'm literally unable to make it myself.

I'm looking for a code to change my team name. I made a typo in the name of my team and I really cba to start all over again. I have 200+ hours of play time.

Besides that I'm also looking for a code to change the nicknames of myself, my partner, and other Pokemon that I have recruited.

I'm begging you, there must be someone out there that can easily do this, right? Right?! @Pinkolol @Demonic722 @Anty-Lemon

Appreciate it ❤️
