Madatsubomi Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 This will probably seem like a silly question, but after poking around the forums I didn't quite see anything clear in regards to it. In the past, I recall getting the Mystery Gift/Wonder Card for an Event Deoxys after the fact. Probably even a year or so past it's end date, and of course you had to turn back the clock on the DS for it to go through. I think it was a ROM dump of the cartridge that was distributed to the GameStops and what not that I used... Not really sure anymore. Anyways.. My question is this, in being unable to attend an event or desiring a foreign region event pokemon. Is it legal to want to use the uploaded event files to give yourself the Mystery Gift/Wonder Card and then transfer them over via the Bank to Gen VI? I'm thinking specifically of Darkrai, Shaymin, etc... those you wouldn't have access to normally via an in-game event such as Deoxys being available in OR/AS post game in order to complete the Pokedex. Thank you for your time with this and apologies in advance if I already missed this somewhere else.
theSLAYER Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 It's not legit, but it's legal. I do the same myself in the past; I insert the wondercards to obtain the event, as I had no access in the past.
Madatsubomi Posted December 6, 2014 Author Posted December 6, 2014 Makes sense, guess I'll have to get myself an imported copy of AS/OR to enjoy foreign events in that case from now on. One other question, is there a way to check an event Pokemon in your storage/party to the actual one given out? I'm often having worries that trading online might lead to one winding up with hacked Pokemon without knowing it. I have some event legendaries in question that someone on Reddit was trading over to those who asked. (IE Shiny Raikou, Shiny Palkia, etc.)

Is it in the right Pokeball 3. Is the met location right? (date could be off, cause people can change their 3DS dates) 4. Is the ability correct 5. Is the moveset legal (though this can easily be changed. events may have special moveset, but obvious hacks are like pikachu with both fly and surf) 6. Invalid EVs (exceeds 510 cap) Those are just off the top of my head. Frankly, If I went to an event and only got 1 shiny raikou/palkia, I probably wouldn't trade it off. User probably got it from a user who used a wondercard. Since it's wondercard, it's not so bad
Madatsubomi Posted December 6, 2014 Author Posted December 6, 2014 Thank you for that. I'll be sure to check my sav file with PokeGen to compare to the information listed in the events page. *Chuckles softly.* Pikachu with fly and surf... Take it you can't transfer over the Surfing Pikachu over from good old Yellow, eh? <: Man... unlocking it in Colosseum was a pain back when I was a tyke.

Well, Gen I (and II) couldn't have their stuff transferred over to Gen III and beyond, But you should know that Gen V and VI have had surf and fly events >< So it's okay for those Pikachu to have either Fly or Surf, but not both I never even had surfing Pikachu in yellow T.T

I imagine that it doesn't use balloons or surfboard animations though? Also, I recall it was an absolute pain. You had to beat something or other with your Pikachu from Yellow. Miss the feature of having your Pokemon walking behind you from back then and most recently HG/SS. Just to reiterate though, as event Pokemon brought in by a wonder card through Pokegen/PKHeX. Although technically speaking legal, but not legitimate since one wasn't at or missed the download event. It would be considered inappropriate to use in battles online. (IE Random Matchups and what not. Although.. I think legendaries are banned anyways. >> ) Use of these would fall under the In-Game/Collection/Friends category, correct?

Yeah, did not use those animations ahah. I missing walking pokemon too Yup, wondercards are only legal, not legitimate, and is under in-game/collection/friends category. ><

Victreebell, Vileplume, Drifblim, Chandelure, Lanturn, Wailord, etc... to name a few. (After much breeding, have a near perfect Shiny Litwick back in X2. Wasn't a Modest one sadly.) P.S. Side Question Was looking at the Event Database collection for Pokemon Ranch, noticed that Haley's Pokemon although having the same TID, had differing SID on each one. I thought SID remained as a static hidden variable? Edited December 6, 2014 by Madatsubomi Side Question

My battles are too plain, I don't even bother to set up I'm personally not too sure about hayley's pokemon, I would assume they are the same for the SID, but perhaps the TID was set, but SID wasn't?

I wouldn't have a clue to be honest, might have to pick up a copy of Pokemon Ranch and deposit pokemon myself to find out.
RustInPeace Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Speaking of Pokemon Bank and event legends, I couldn't get Arceus and Darkrai to Pokemon Bank. I used an Action Replay to unlock their events, which included the PokeMart guy hooking me up with the key items. Could it be that I needed to do a Wondercard insertion through PokeGen in order to make them legal as opposed to Action Replay? I got the over event legends in Gen 4 through AR, and haven't yet tried transferring them. I had to use pkms from someone and the Darkrai and Arceus from him made it through the bank.

If you captured Arceus at Hall of Origin, it would not pass, as no one legitimately got to Hall of Origin. (Only Arceus from Gen IV is from Wondercard. Only Arceus from Gen V is Dream World giveaway (and prev). Arceus in Gen VI are the both from prev. As for Darkrai, which version did you catch it in? Ignoring Wondercard containing Darkrai, only Platinum received the Member Card (key item) to catch Darkrai in-game. I would assume your Darkrai didn't pass, probably cause you caught it in Diamond or Pearl.

I would assume your Darkrai didn't pass, probably cause you caught it in Diamond or Pearl. I used AR to generate the items, and catched the pokemon in-game. I can't remember what Darkrai I tried to get into the Bank as there was a bunch I cheated to get. However one that I remember catching on Platinum, did make it just now. Thanks for the info. My Shaymin also made it through, caught in Platinum. Manaphy as well, generated the egg event. I tried getting the Toys R Us Arceus from 2009 through, but nope. Maybe because I edited the IVs and nature. Looking at the pre-made Arceus, I think it'll only pass through if it was from Entree Forest.
