that looks like a dusk ball, actually. or they made a mistake and it actually comes in a cherish ball.

That is correct in the case of Deoxys.

Deoxys is going to be distributed again from March 20 to May 6, 2013. It appears to be the same, but it will also include Black and White.

They made it like this on purpose with the first release of this Event.

Deoxys is centered around space, so the Dusk Ball fits in nicely with the stars at night or with an Aurora.

This is strange for nintendo to finally make events different pokeballs besides cherish since gen 3. Lucky for it to be a deoxys

They can put events in whatever ball they want, they've just chosen to use Cherish Balls, since they're event exclusive Pokeballs.
