Zappo23 Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Hi all, my name is Zappo23! This is my very first tutorial, a complete guide to PokeGen for beginners. I tried to answer as many questions as possible with this tutorial, explaining every part with painstaking detail. This is the first tutorial that I'm posting. The reason I chose to make a PokeGen tutorial is that information about how to use it seemed too scattered. So, I decided to make a full-fledged tutorial. In Word, it's 24 pages long . But luckily for you, I have it here in PDF format hosted by Scribd. Complete with pictures and examples, this tutorial is sure to answer any questions you might have about a particular aspect of PokeGen. Also, if you read my tutorial and see that something is missing, or that any information is incorrect, please do not hesitate to tell me because I will fix it and update it as soon as possible after such occurrence. This link will redirect you to Scribd.com, which is a safe and secure, FREE document hosting site. Also, the conversion was kinda bad so the hyperlinks to downloads are THERE, it's just...their lines are ABOVE them instead of beneath them. Basically, every time you see a blue line, click underneath it:biggrin: . My next tutorial is going to be ShinyGTS. I also noticed about ShinyGTS that solutions to several different types of problems are also scattered around the web, so I am going to make it my personal mission to compile all the information I have learned into one comprehensive tutorial and troubleshooting guide. I hope you guys enjoy my tutorial!
ReignOfComputer Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Shiny2, not ShinyGTS please. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?22310-Shiny2-Distribution-System When you're done PM me, I'll add it to the thread.
Zappo23 Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 Darn lol I JUST got ShinyGTS working 2 weeks ago...and at the same time, a NEW Shiny is out. Okay, I will give it a look, thanks!
Guested Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Didn't think a tutorial for this program was needed, other than people who don't know how to access their save file (as the program has built-in tooltips). BUT you may want to change your terminology, as by accepted definitions it is not possible to make legit pokemon. Edit: Aaaand... what's the purpose of putting base stats in as EVs?
Zappo23 Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 Well, I understand that more experienced users may want to max out IVs with 31, and then putting 252 on the two highest base stats in the EV column, but if you're going to make a Terminator Pokemon, why even bother playing the game? Putting the listed base stats in the EVs promises a well-balanced Pokemon that won't be so powerful that the game stops being fun. Of course, it's entirely at the user's discretion. You may not think a tutorial is needed but in the past few minutes of scouring the forums, I saw several threads started by people looking for help but were only being redirected back to a basic instruction page. I am hoping that my comprehensive tutorial will help those who are having trouble figuring out how to use the program at all. And, it's possible to fool the game into thinking you caught a Pokemon instead of transferring it via fake GTS thanks to PokeCheck.org. Get you your Secret ID, sucka!
Guested Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 The tooltips about what each field do are IN the program, as you hover your mouse over them. Sorry, but seeing that you are encouraging people to use bulbapedia as their reference, I'm closing this. No one should be encouraged to visit that site as they often have errors, are now owned by some kind of evil media company, and the staff had a secret child porn forum in the bulbagarden forums (among other dubious behavior).
