Psycho K Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Normally, I'd be using Pokesav on my laptop which has Vista and everything looks as it should. A few days ago, I owned my laptop by spilling tea over it, so I have to use this desktop which has XP. When I run Pokesav on this however, it's huge. Here are some pics: http://psycho_k.webs.com/temporary/pokesav.png http://psycho_k.webs.com/temporary/pokesav_2.png Now, I have used this same version of Pokesav on another desktop with XP at a friend's house and it was normally sized. Is there some particular setting I have set that is causing it to be so huge and weird looking? The font being large and bold seems to be the main issue here, but I do not know how one would adjust that. Any help would be appreciated.
Endless Eden Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Which pokesav is it? i had this problem but there is a compact platinum pokesav its around here somewhere so its fixed but if its diamond/pearl pokesav i think there is another method of fixing it but i dont know that
Psycho K Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 It's the English Pokesav for Platinum. I said it in the topic title sort of discreetly, I guess.
Endless Eden Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Here i found it it is in the 3rd post , http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1728
Psycho K Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 Ah, cool. That definitely helps. Thanks. I still do wonder if there is a way to make the font smaller on the original one, because it really is baffling to me that it appears the way it does on my desktop. Here are some new pics for comparison: http://psycho_k.webs.com/temporary/pokesav_compact.png http://psycho_k.webs.com/temporary/pokesav_compact_2.png Let's see if someone else knows. Also, someone says that loading Pokemon into your party with the compact version crashes the game. Is this still the case?
Endless Eden Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 here we are! i found instructions on making it smaller, right click on desktop > properties > settings > set the resolution size all the way to the right. As for that second part i dont know but i have yet to have a problem with it its worked fine for me since i got it
Psycho K Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 here we are! i found instructions on making it smaller, right click on desktop > properties > settings > set the resolution size all the way to the right. My resolution is set to 1152*864. This is a ~16" CRT desktop. For some weird reason, the max resolution on the slider is 2048*1536 which is way out of range. Here's how the resolutions scale: 1152*864 [current] 1280*768 1280*960 1280*1024 (anything above is is out of range) Even under 1280*768, the window is still too big. It fits on the latter two, but then the problem is that reading stuff (like this topic) becomes incredibly hard since it's so small. :\
Endless Eden Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Hhmm best stick with the compact one then.As far as i know no one has had any problems with it so far so your better of sticking with it now.
Psycho K Posted June 17, 2009 Author Posted June 17, 2009 Fascinating development, guys. I followed the instructions for using Japanese in Pokesav and I got up to the part where I installed the languages and restarted. When I ran Pokesav after this, it was normal sized! I just felt I'd share this information in case other users run into this problem and somehow former cases need to get cited for a sticky.
Greencat Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 You could always try downloading the Compact English Platinum one. It's in a link form in the download page.
sawdoomnaga Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Here i found it it is in the 3rd post ,http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1728 link not working. Out dated? anyone knoe how to help?
pickle Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I posted about this earlier, but on windows, if you install the Arial Unicode MS font, it corrects the appearance without install the compact version. The large font is actually caused by windows substituting for a Kanji-based font. Arial Unicode MS has the correct glyph sizes ... You may or may not have to restart Windows for it to work.
