color.me.envious Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 After creating a good dozen wi-fi legal Pokemon, I've hit a snag with my Lilligant. For some reason my Pokegen'd Pokemon won't pass wi-fi unless I deposit them into, and then remove them from, the PC; however the PC ALWAYS fixes my illegality issues, and in this case does not so it has to be an actual error on my part, though I can't seem to spot what I've done wrong. I'm running low on sleep so I could very well be missing something obvious. My file is for Black, if that matters. I initially had the game of origin set as Black, since it's a hatched Pokemon, but when that didn't work, I changed it to White, since Petilil is generally a White exclusive, although I can't imagine it matters for hatched Pokemon.
Guest Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Lilligant cannot learn Fake Tears according to Serebii.net
Kaphotics Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 No data should change from when you hack in the pokemon, deposit it, and then re-withdraw it. Could be an issue with party data ... Since you can't do a before + after, it's hard to tell what the problem is.
color.me.envious Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Bulbapedia has Fake Tears listed as an egg move, I'm disappointed. It's never lied to me before. I'm not sure what's up with the whole PC thing. I use an AR to insert them into my party as I lack the ability to insert it into the .sav directly. The Whimsicott you tweaked for me did the same thing. May be something about the code generation for the AR that bugs out my Party slightly. Since my Pokemon are fixable I don't really care, but it'd be neat to know why it's doing it. Oh well. Edit: Do you think if I posted one of the codes generated, someone, if not here then in the RAM forum, might be able to tell me if it's a code issue causing my strange PC blip?
jasterj Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Bulbapedia does indeed show it learns Fake Tears but I just checked two other websites and they show it does not learn it. Also a few other people are having the same problem but I have not the slightest idea as to why. Posting the code seems like a good idea to me.
color.me.envious Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Yeah, I nix'd the move in-game on the failed Lilligant, and it passed check. So I went back and gen'd one with Aromatherapy instead. Here's the code for my Aromatherapy Lilligant (Party Slot 1) . Like the others, she won't go through wi-fi until I put her in the PC. Someone might be able to test for a difference between the two by hacking one, PC'ing it, and then backing another into the party as well, so there's a good and a bad one side by side? 94000130 FFFB0000 022349B0 00000003 022349B4 6725A81A 022349B8 25AF0000 022349BC 769E9FB3 022349C0 D81854D9 022349C4 70DCF09C 022349C8 91C77E39 022349CC 7D3B0C50 022349D0 1FBA4DC7 022349D4 FE03815F 022349D8 E31F04C2 022349DC 47246ECE 022349E0 BD5B16DF 022349E4 D21ABCB3 022349E8 11FBEB95 022349EC 1E7ED381 022349F0 FCF61726 022349F4 3B4BB0DA 022349F8 EAA055B4 022349FC B7B756B2 02234A00 CFF31716 02234A04 BB51034B 02234A08 92C72990 02234A0C A7AC2B90 02234A10 0AF01191 02234A14 F46D1FD3 02234A18 AB7F1378 02234A1C 177CE226 02234A20 32BA6DDB 02234A24 2AC5ED18 02234A28 A5F8EB61 02234A2C C2CD7B9A 02234A30 AAFCBEFA 02234A34 F01D1980 02234A38 73F91CA2 02234A3C F384025C 02234A40 D6F9FC70 02234A44 E6874F14 02234A48 A55374E7 02234A4C 9E661DAC 02234A50 65ADEA7F 02234A54 646D17F4 02234A58 ED5CC067 02234A5C 4E6D3201 02234A60 D6967825 02234A64 BC02DF41 02234A68 3F27AD3F 02234A6C 4CD5E056 02234A70 D1B14F4E 02234A74 FBC15173 02234A78 5AF1F1CC 02234A7C 3FB8F052 02234A80 6F464532 02234A84 56E6CD6B 02234A88 E4740D42 02234A8C 2016DC62 D2000000 00000000
Guested Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Official Japanese guide says no Fake Tears. I don't know why people trust Bulbapedia as a reliable source. It's user-geneated.
color.me.envious Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 Bulbapedia has more convenient navigation, plus it's far more legible. Serebii has an awful low-contrast design and I have severe vision problems so in terms of internet resources it works well for me. I use it constantly, especially to Pokegen Pokemon (in both gen IV and gen V games), and this is the first time I've run into a game data error like this. It happens. Mistakes would happen if it was completely webmaster run; they would even happen if it was an officially sanctioned guide source. Nothing is error proof. Anyway, we figured out it was the Fake Tears quite some time ago, so I guess this can be locked by someone. I posted my AR code in RAM and I'm going to see if one of the delightful code monkeys there can spot a discrepancy that would cause the PC blip in it.
