Save dumping problem

I can't seem to find a solution to this so far so I'm hoping someone here will be able to help. Basically I have an official Soul Silver game cartridge and an adaptor which I can use to dump save files from the cartridge and then write them back onto the cartridge.

This all works perfect when it comes to editing Platinum saves, but I have a problem for when it comes to Soul Silver saves. When I dump the SS save it creates a 1024kb save file which doesn't load in Pokesav. I've tried using the online save converter and tried different settings and it still doesn't work. Though there's a chance that I'm not doing it correctly.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a way around it?

probably a setting in the adapter, also you can try importing the save on an emulator and then exporting it as a 512KB.

That's the adaptor I'm using. There's no way to change any of the settings on it.

I'll try importing it on an emulator and let you know if it works.

the nds adaptor can't do hgss or bw. you need the nds adaptor+

those games use a different cart(nitro-031 instead of nitro-005) due to the built-in infrared .

I was hoping that this wouldn't be the case but it's starting to look more and more like it is. I'll just trade between SS and Platinum.

if you're thinking about buying a new one, you might want to wait. the sms4 should be out soon and it has more functionality than the nds adaptor+. it's more expensive, but can dump all different saves, games, whatever.

not sure how patient you are, but it's still not out and the forum is pretty dead. i'm sure it's coming at some point soon, but who knows when exactly
