Hide
Hello, I've been breeding Pokémon on XY, and I am looking forward to get a shiny egg. My idea is to hatch the egg on Pokémon XY, and if it is shiny, reset the game and send it to my ORAS game using a second 3ds. I am doing this because I want to have that Pokémon at the earliest stage possible in ORAS. Recognizing the basics of shiny Pokémon I wonder... If I hatch such egg on another game, will the Pokémon remain shiny? Why? Thank you! - Hide
Kaphotics
No, shininess is based off of the hatcher's Trainer ID and SID.
Hide
Alright! I supposed it was going to be that way. Thank you Mr. Kapohotics; do you know if Masuda method works for eggs obtained in a trade? - Hide
Alpha
do you know if Masuda method works for eggs obtained in a trade?- Hide Masuda method only causes PID regeneration when the egg is created at the daycare, so no.

hillo315
The hatched pokemon should be shiny after the trade when hatching, but lose its shiny status. The game switches from using the id of the original person who obtained the egg, to the person who hatched it.
