Intorduction This is for Shoddy Battle This is my attempt at a sandstorm team that fits into the UU's. It seems to be more of a defensive team that works on taking down the opponant slowly. So, tell me what you think. (Ok, This team needs a miracle to fix it. ) Team Pokemon #1 [sprite]449[/sprite] Hippopotas@leftovers Sandstreamer Male Impish nature (+def -SAtk) Sandstream EV's: 252Hp/252Def/6SDef -Protect -Earthquake -Yawn/toxic -stealth rock I know what your thinking. "Hippopotas!?" It technically is the only Sandstreamer that is in UU and below. With the sash he can yawn and protect. He can also set up Stealth rock and then switch. He has worked for me. People seem to underestimate my team after seeing him. I'm thinking about changing his EV's and maybe adding EQ to his moveset but I don't think that he can use it well. I might switch him to Hippowdon as this team can still hold their own in OU's Edit: ok, I added leftovers. I think that I'll add EQ Pokemon #2 [shinysprite]338[/shinysprite] Solrock@leichi berry RP passer Naughty Nature Levitate EV's: 120Hp/252Atk/136Spd -Rock Polish -Rock slide -baton pass -Subtitute Edit:Solrock is now a BPasser instead of a screener. Pokemon#3 [sprite]139[/sprite] Omastar@lifeorb Special Sweeper shell armor modest EV's:252Satk/252Spd/4Def -Surf -Ice beam -HP grass -Ancient Power Edit: As no one like Lunatone (poor lunatone ) I'll take Illithian's other suggestion. Pokemon #4 [sprite]346[/sprite] Cradily@leftovers Sandy wall female Bold Nature (+def -atk) Suction cups EV's:252Hp/252Def/6Sdef -Swords dance -rest -Sleep talk -Rock Slide So far, Cradily is the MVP of my team. She is so broken in the sand. With rest she can shake off status and entry hazards. Toxic adds for her damage output and grass knot is for breaking subs. It has good PP so if it's a stall war I have a good chance of winning. And with suction cups, she can't be roared. Edit: made her a sleep talker. That might change, I need to test her first. Pokemon #5 [sprite]430[/sprite] Honchkrow@lifeorb male Insomnia Adamant nature EV's:252Atk/252Spd/4Hp -sucker punch -drill peck -Super power -Pursuit edit: this will take care of grasses and can do a decent amount of damage w/ sucker punch. If it gets support from Solrock It can doo some major damage. Pokemon #6 [sprite]237[/sprite] Hitmontop@leftovers spinner(maybe) male impish nature intimidate EV's:252HP/72Def/184Hp -Rapid Spin -Close Combat -Toxic -Stone edge/sucker punch Edit: I used this smogon set. He resists Stealth rock and can spin them away. He also has Close sombat to cover steels. Overall, this team has brought me lot's of success in the OU and UU environments. My biggest fear is a weather changer. They can ruin the Def boost and simply destroy me. As Hippopotas doesn't stay around very long I have only one chance to set up sandstorm and maybe one chance to change it back. Let me know what you think! Thanks. (Remember that I play UU's hippowdon might be the exception IF I change it) Don't listen to what I said above! It's bad enough that I was swept by a victreebell (props to wraith89). T_T P.S. Excuse me for any spelling errors. Edit:after some major changes, this is what I've come up with. Not sure on hitmontop though, I need to test him. @Enkidu I wanted to use claydol but after that Victreebell swept me I think that I need more grass resistence To tell you the truth I might need even more. Wow, three leftovers 0_0, I need to change that

Upon Random's advice, this team is now going to be a Sandstorm team. [sprite]142[/sprite] Aerodactyl (M) @ Focus Sash Ability: Pressure EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Stealth Rock - Taunt - Earthquake - Rock Slide --- Weaknesses: Rock, Steel, Water, Electric, Ice Resists: Normal, Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire Immune: Ground Aero here is my lead in. Taunt can stop the opponents Pokemon from setting up, I try to get Stealth Rocks out as soon as possible. Focus Sash ensures it survives to do this. Earthquake is to counter Infernape and other ground weak lead-ins, and rock slide is another option. I've chosen Rock Slide over Stone Edge due to it's greater accuracy. Basically, get in, set up rocks, then suicide. [sprite]448[/sprite] Lucario (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Inner Focus EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Aura Sphere - Shadow Ball - Hidden Power [ice] - Agility Weaknesses: Fighting, Ground, Fire Resists: Normal, Rock, Bug, Ghost, Steel, Grass, Ice, Dragon, Dark Immune: Poison Considering Tyranitar is a physical attacker, I'm making Lucario a special attacker in case of any physical walls. HP Ice is for dragons, which my team lacks coverage of, and the rest is obvious. [sprite]248[/sprite] Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 74 HP/252 Atk/8 Def/176 SDef Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Crunch - Curse - Substitute - Fire Punch --- Weaknesses: Fighting (x4!), Ground, Bug, Steel, Grass, Water Resists: Normal, Flying, Poison, Ghost, Fire, Dark Immune: Psychic Switch in on something that's scared of him, use sub, and then curse my way to good attack/defense. Fire punch is for additional team coverage, and crunch is a basic STAB. [sprite]385[/sprite] Jirachi @ Leftovers Ability: Serene Grace EVs: 240 HP/160 Def/34 Spd/76 SDef Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Wish - U-turn - Body Slam - Ice Punch --- Weaknesses: Ground, Fire Resists: Normal, Flying, Rock, Steel, Grass, Psychic, Ice, Dragon Immune: Poison Jirachi is support with wish, scout with U-turn, and status inflicter with Body Slam. He's actually gotten me a few kills with body slam. Ice Punch is for coverage against dragons, or a last resort against ghosts who switch in. [sprite]472[/sprite] Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Sand Veil EVs: 252 HP/40 Atk/216 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Roost - Earthquake - Stone Edge Weaknesses: Water, Ice (x4!) Resists: Fighting, Poison, Bug Immune: Ground, Electric Jolly nature + speed EV's allow it to outspeed Lucario's and smack them with Earthquake. Swords Dance is to boost attack, and with stealth rock, Stone Edge can then OHKO all Gyaradoes, Salamence and Dragonites. I went with Sand Evasion over Hyper Cutter because the 20% evasion was too good to pass up. I also went with leftovers over a yache berry, since proper prediction can nullify my ice weakness with roost. [sprite]395[/sprite] --- King Dedede (M) @ Petaya Berry Ability: Torrent EVs: 14 HP/232 Spd/252 SAtk/12 SDef Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Agility - Substitute - Surf - Ice Beam --- Weaknesses: Fighting, Ground, Electric Resists: Normal, Flying, Rock, Bug, Ghost, Steel, Water, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Dark (Niiiiice) Immune: Poison Empoleon is the special sweeper. Use agility, follow with sub until the berry kicks in, and then sweep. Surf is for the STAB, Ice Beam is to handle dragons/flyers. Well, any comments or suggestions? This is my first team, and I would like any pointers since I am new to competitive battling.

This team is designed for competative Wi-Fi via MLG. Please rate, comment, and give addvise to this team. Aerodacty @ Focus Sash Nature: Jolly Ability: Pressure Evs: Hp 4 Atk 252 Spe 252 Role: Lead Taunt Stealth Rocks Rock Slide Earthquake Before anyone reminds me, yes i do know i have rock slide over stone edge. I prefer the greater accuracy and the possibilty of a flinch that rock slide brings to the table. Other than that though its a standard Taunt + Stealth Rocks Aerodactyl. Just Taunt Stealth and then fight till she faints. (Bulky mance, drogonite, and other bulky flyings are giving trouble. rockslide takes down the offencive sweepers but has trouble on defencive bulky flyings. would stone edge be better? even if riskier?) Tyranitar @ leftovers Nature: Bold Ability: Sandstream Evs: Hp 252 Atk 52 Spe 30 SpAtk176 Role: Sandstormer / Sub + Counter Substitute Crunch Focus Punch Flame Thrower She is my sandstorm setter and also a good wall. This new and improved ttar is now helping me deal some damage and weaken the opponent. Hippopowdon did her job of toxic and roar but it just didn't fit as well with the team Metagross @ Expert Belt Nature: Naive Ability: Clearbody Evs: Atk 252 Spe 134 SpAtk 124 Role: Wall Breaker Meteor Mash Thunder Punch Hidden Power (Fire) Grass Knot Metagross mainly goes up against Bulky Waters and other Steal Types that may try and get in my way. Thunder Punch is in there for gyarados and flying dragons like mence and dragonite.(currently having trouble with magnezones. should i move more into SpAtk?) Empoleon @ Petaya Berry Nature: Modest Ability: Torrent Evs: Hp 12 Def 12 SpAtk 252 SpDef 234 Role: Late Game Sweeper / Dragon Counter Agility Substitute Surf IceBeam Standart SubPetaya Empoleon. Substitute and Agility untill Petaya Berry is used. Then with Petaya and torrent boost procceed to sweep. Gliscore @ Leftovers Nature: Impish Ability: Hypercutter Evs: Hp 252 Atk 40 Spe 216 Role: Tank Sword Dance Roost Rock Slide Earthquake Dance roost and sweep, simple as that. Vaporeon just wasn't working out. Metagross was handeling waters (even gyarados) just fine; and i was missing my flying friend against some of those electrics and steels. Lucario @ Life Orb Nature: Adamant Ability: Inner Focus Evs: Atk 252 Def 4 Spe 252 Role: Revenge Killer / Late Game Sweeper Sword Dance Close Combat Extreme Speed Fire Punch Lucario is my revenge killer and late game sweeper. Extreme speed is my revenge kill move. Sword dance and close combat to sweep late game. Steels were becoming a problem so fire punch was added. (This has been esential as a scizor counter) The BOLD is the most recent changes made.
