  1. As @Kaphotics said, Gen4 save files are 512KB, not 1MB. So there could be some issues in your flashcart/emulator settings.

I trimmed the extra 512KB and it works (I also added a Pichu-Color-Pikachu in your Box 2, so you can directly use it to trigger the Spiky Eared Pichu event).

Pro tip: you can use TWiLight Menu++, a DSi menu replacement, also with flashcarts. In this way you can have the best DS roms compatibility. Take a look here.

Thank you so much! May I ask, can checkpoint also inject HGSS save files into genuine physical cartridge? I’ve read somewhere that HGSS saves are encrypted a different way or sth? Thanks again :))

Checkpoint works like a charm with all Pokémon DS/3DS carts, HGSS included.

  3. When you install a new battery, the RTC (real time clock) restarts from 01/01/2000. The game keeps track of played hours, so if you (for example) have played for 10 years and then the battery died you should wait others 10 years to reach the "next day" in-game.

Imho, the best solution is to adjust the RTC and set the actual time, this can be easily done with this little Homebrew software that works with DS/DS lite (the .nds version that works with DS flashcarts, like R4, that access the GBA carts through Slot-2 insertion) or directly with GBA (.gba version with GBA flashcarts, like EZ Flash Omega, and works with cartridge swap).

Maybe your plugin is blocked by Windows.

Try to right-click the plugin .dll file and select "Properties." In the "General" tab, look at the bottom for a "Security" section. If there is, select the "Unblock" check box and click OK.

The file is full of garbage, no real save data inside.

Besides that the proper size for Gen 3 saves is 128kb. You should check if FlashGBX is able to dump the full 128kb save.

I personally use GBxCart RW with FlashGBX and it works like a charm with III gen Pokémon games.

@jcb753 are you sure that the cartridge is original? Have you correctly installed the GBxCart RW's drivers? Does it work with other carts?

  6. PKHeX should be able to read a .raw GC Memory Card file.

There could be a problem with latest builds: your file doesn't work with PKHeX 24.03.26/24.03.10, but it works with PKHeX 24.01.12

Until a fix, you can either use an old build or use Dolphin Memory Card manager to extract the .gci Colosseum file.

  7. Where did this file come from? A valid Pokémon Y save file should be a file named "main" (without extension), with the size of 405KB.

In actual hardware (3DS/2DS with game cartridge or digital copy) a save file must be extracted AND DECRYPTED using a Homebrew save-manager, like Checkpoint (little guide here).
This assumes that you have a complete CFW setup on your 3DS console (complete guide here).

If you are using Citra you should take a look here.

seemed to work if i traded it and traded it back, so i presume that was the issue since its a trade issue. never had that before my bad

    This.

A Pokémon that evolve through trading has to be seen as "traded" by the game, otherwise it's flagged as illegal. You can "emulate" a trade by drag-n-dropping a mon between two PKHeX windows.

  9. Somehow you have corrupted that part of the file associated with correctly recognizing the save file, PKHeX thought that it was a Ruby/Sapphire save.

I fixed this, but there is still something wrong with this file. At least now it reads correctly as an Emerald save file.

Hi there, hoping this can reach someone in 2024, I downloaded a complete save file of Omega Ruby in hope of transferring the gen 3 pokemon from that game to my current HOME, the reason I'm doing this is because I transitioned in the last couple years and a lot of my HOME mons have my deadname and I am just trying to replace them one for one, but seeing as the Pokemon Bank is getting shut down in a week I don't have much time left to do this legitimately.

I am having a problem erasing the HT memories and Geo data in the batch editor, some mons change, some don't, and a lot of them pop up as untraded. I want to set all of them(minus the AS exclusives) as caught by me and not traded, I changed the SID and TID, the OT_Name,Gender and MetDate.

However when I run the batch editor to try to get rid of the HT data, it just send me in an indefinite loop erasing Geo data or resetting the HT gender and it resets whenever I save a pokemon.

    main OR 472 kB · 5 downloads

The Pokémon Bank will not shut down along with the other online services, it will in the future, but not now.
