When I press A on the new backup  option,it says save data is empty

It means your game BCAT is not initialized. You must connect the game online at least once. If the issue persist, connect to the mystery gift in-game at least once, does not matter if there's no gift available.

The procedure does not work on EmuNand or emulators.

Should I turn off wifi on CFW sysnand, before I do any editing? Also by any chance do you know If sysnand have the serial number protection like emuNand?
    Thank you for your answer!

You should turn off any serial number obfuscation on SysNand. You can have the sysnand connected online, no issues.

See SysBots, hacked switch in SysNand running homebrews and sysmodules while connected online to offer trades to other players.

  3. Save file editing is usually fine, until they're not sinc'd to the cloud. Pokémon game saves are not sync'd, so no worries with those. Other's game may require you to manually disable the cloud auto-sync.

You can run JKSV or Checkpoint on sysnand, as well as mostly any other homebrew safely. Just stay away from any piracy/nsp/xci related installer/software.

Nintendo only bans for piracy-related stuff, or for cheating in online competitive games, such as Splatoon 2 or Smash Bros.

if you have an EmuNand, always keep it offline. Going online on 2 different nands will make you banned. if you have nsp/xci software installed, then you're banned even if you attempt to uninstall them.

When doing this, I made a mistake and deleted the original BCAT backup. Now, when I check the list of available mystery gifts under "Get via Internet", there's always an option. How do I get it so that it can be blank again? When I transfer my save file to my non-hacked switch, this resolves the issue on that switch, but when I transfer back to my hacked switch, it reverts back to the issue. Does the daily BCAT synch resolve this?

Check the bottom of the guide to see how to reset the BCAT data with JKSV.

Anyways, if you see the Mythical Pecha Berry on the Mystery Gift it's normal. It's the standard gift you should see.

Amazing thank you for this! I'm still new to the whole modded thing, so I can go online with things like checkpoint installed on the Sysnand? I'm just nervous as there is alot of varying info online on what is and is not allowed.

    Thanks again!

If you have homebrews such as Checkpoint on the Homebrew Launcher menu, it's safe to use even while on online. The only suggestion is to not restore saves that are synced in the Cloud saves. Disable Cloud saves and you're free to use Checkpoint safely. Pokémon save files aren't synced to the cloud anyways, but it may be a thing for other games.

If you have XCI/NSP/XCZ or any other "installable" formats (with installable I mean, that the app/homebrew/game goes into the Switch Home Menu) then it's a ban. Installable titles requires spoofing a cert, which is what triggers the ban. Uninstalling does not remove the cert, so it would still ban you if you have previously installed any titles on the SysNand.

Other instances of bans have occured when users cheated on online/ranked matches in competitive games, such as Splatoon 2. Those bans are usually only related to that specific game, and not to the console.

  6. Custom Firmwares can go online safely.
Nintendo mainly bans for piracy, or for behaviours that may lead to piracy.

If you're not a pirate, you can go online on your CFW Switch.

Double nand setup isn't suggested, as if you go online on EmuNand/EmuMMC Nintendo may notice mismatching nand logs and ban, as they can safely assume you have two nands for piracy purposes.

I would suggest to setup a SysNand-only CFW.

Anyways, you can safely trade mons locally, even if they have your other save TID/SID/OT.

Sorry, im really new to this. Can you explain how these work then as i thought i would be able to use these to replace my lost starters? Would i just put them into PKHeX without the trackers and then i would transfer them to HOME?

As you were already said, you can do what you described, but the Pokémon would have an invalid Tracker. The tracker should be assigned by Home upon the Gift generation, not during a deposit from a game. Since the tracker can __track__ every movements/edits to the Pokémon, it can be recognizable that your Pokémon hasn't been originated within Home.

Up to you to decide wheter to do it or not. If you want a legal Pokèmon, then you have to create another Home account and redeem the gift in there.

  8. Home gifts generates within Home with a valid Tracker. You can not spoof a valid Home tracker.

Hence, you can not generate a legal Home gift.

Sure, you can generate the mons in PKHeX with no tracker, and make Home to give a tracker to them upon depositing, but that may be detectable by the servers if they bother to check.

I really appreciate the video that explains the installation, but the tempo is a little fast and I miss things. Could you make it a video that can be stopped and rewound like a normal video?

There's no official up to date video guide. PKHeX interface should be easy enough to use by trial and error.

Also, I installed a plugin, but is there a way to change the language? (Japanese, etc.)

Plugins usually inherit their UI language from the PKHeX set language. Set the language you want on PKHeX and eventually restart the program, plugins language should follow. If the plugin isn't translated to your language, you can eventually contribute a translation to it.

Also, I select the tool from the reference and normalize it with legalize active pokemon, but can't I select it directly from the reference?

Unsure on what you mean by "reference". I think the translator you're using is missing context.

Is it possible to copy the Pokemon I sent to UMSM and send them to a previous work in a pseudo manner?

If you mean to send a Pokémon from USUM back to previous games, then yeah you can use PKHaX to enable backwards transfers.

Also, when editing the save of BW, I would like you to fix the fact that some parts remain in English even when Japanese is selected. This is for editing the mysterious gift database and SAV.

Like plugins, missing translations can be contributed to the PKHeX repository.

If you find bugs or inconsistencies in the program behaviour, the suggestion is to open a proper issue on the github, or to open a separate thread here on the forums (on the proper section) explaining the issue with the program and how to replicate it.

Good Morning, when trying to do this, the identifier.txt file is not located in a specific folder, but rather in the root of the downloaded zip file. So as one does, I tried to move into one of the folders available which were - Files or JSON. When trying to import with the txt file in either folder I get an error and it does not work. Any advice on what is potentially wrong?

    2024-08-21 10_04_26-008 Pokemon Day Outbreaks.png

You should not move the files. In your case, the folder the identifier.txt files is on is 008 Pokemon Day Outbreaks. So, just select that, or double click the Identifier.txt file, and you'll get it working.

  11. Please do not multipost. I deleted the other topics. Next time, will be a warning.

Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee and Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl are the only Switch games that do not use the main nomenclature for the save files.

Let's Go save files are named savedata.bin, and BDSP save files are named SaveData.bin.

Those are the correct save files to be edited with PKHeX. After the editing, ensure to replace the save file and correctly restore it back with JKSV.

If the editings are not reflected into the game, either you didn't save the editings correctly, or you didn't restore the edited file correctly, or you're confusing emunand and sysnand after the restore.

im having a problem when i finish the OT is TeraFinder and when i wanna change to my own OT it says invalid: OT: trash bytes should be cleard.

Either load a save file with your Trainer Name on Tera Finder, so that will be used to generate the Pokémon; or clear the trash bytes on PKHeX (CTRL + Click on the OT text field -> Clear Trash) after changing the OT.

  13. Unsure on what's actually the question here.

If you're worried about the legality of Pokémon that has been caught on emulators, then yes there could be some emulators that behave differently than real hardware, thus generating illegal Pokémons. This should be a niece scenario, but it can happen. This can be problematic specifically on Gen 3 and 4, where the RNG calls and encounter slots can be verified by legality checkers such as PKHeX.

Virtual Console is the official way to play Gen 1 & 2 nowdays. Nintendo released Gen 1 and 2 Pokémon games on the 3DS via the Virtual Console. Virtual Console games can officially be connected to the Pokémon Bank via the Poké Transporter.

Remember that we do not condone piracy here. If you're using roms and emulators, only use your own dumped games.

  14. CFW SysMMC and OFW are the very same partition. If you edit stuff/restore stuff on CFW SysMMC, that editings will be present on OFW too, as they're the same partition.

What you have to do is:

    - Back up the save file from the partition you have it (I assume this is emunand) with JKSV.

    - Restore the save file in the partition you don't have it (I assume this is SysMMC) with JKSV.

If this doesn't work either you're misusing the tools, or you have some kind of wrong setup with the nand partitions/hekate boot launch options.

Before proceeding, ensure to check whether CFW SysMMC and CFW EmuNand have different save files.

Before backing up the save file from the EmuNand, run the game from that partition and ensure that you have your complete save file here.

Before restoring the save file on SysMMC, run the game and ensure you don't have your save file here.

Hi, I'm trying to download the BCAT file but it's not working.
Let me explain better, the Pokémon Violet game icon appears but when I try to create a save file BCAT tells me that my save is empty even though the game save is present...
    How can I solve it?

Connect the game online, and use the mystery gift / poke portal news option at least once. BCAT will be initialized this way.

Wait, what? Anytime I've done edits, I do, for example:

    =Box=1
    .OriginalTrainerName=
    .TID=
    .SID=

And then I quickly backspace the "1," make it a "2," then press Tab or whatever to submit it and do that for every box. What I posted above does all Pokémon in one box, but I want all boxes.

=Box=1, that's a filter that targets only the first box. Remove it and your script will target all the mons.
