  1. @theSLAYER, this proves absolutely nothing. Is the goal to make a Pokémon which cannot be transferred via the restriction? (I believe that I can do that. Step one is to check the one thing PKHeX is ignoring in Gen 8 for legality checks.) See everyone in a few hours. In addition to values on the Pokémon on the receiving end, I imagine there are one of two things server-side (if not both occuring): There is a formula for assigning Home ID's based upon how it arrived which includes a check for if it came from PoGo directly. (If this is the only check, you would have to re-assign a HOME ID to a mon direct from PoGo that you immediately delete.) The Home app uses one of the unused Bits for mons directly from PoGo which it clears when transferred to a main series game. (On the topic of Let's Go... I caught a lots of Go Park Shinines... ALL Xor=0. It's a hard coding.) I think GameFreak understood their plans for the Shiny Star/Square for the main series before these games completed development.

  3. You really think that is a deterrent?!? LOL!! Unfortunately, the assumption the information was on said Event Flags is wrong. You will notice that the link you provide makes no mention of the Dex-less Mythicals. No Mew, Celebii, nor Genesect. However, no shortage of players can confirm that a Pokémon Go mon produces an error in Home when trying to trade it to Sw/Sh were the same species is not mapped as caught. Non-Go mons are permitted to unlock data but Go mons are NOT permitted to unlock Dex data for you. I assume the base Dex data is stored as an array. So, there has to be an array connected to or with the existing Dex data.

  5. @theSLAYER I believe the LGPE assessment would be correct: I forgot that Bank to Home made that shift on Fateful Encounters. I will just stick with my 31/31/31/31/31/0 red bug from POGO. It's just gross to think that the legal checks will now have to go back and verify the dates of Legendary Pokémon from Raids to be accurate. *cringe* Side note: Is there any word on if the next version of PKHeX will show the Dex data that Pokemon Home reads for the non-numbered mons? Pokemon Home adds an extra restriction to Pokémon Go mon that they cannot be transfered if the Dex on the receiving game is flagged as Uncaught. You cannot unlock Dex data with PoGo mons... lame. Anyways, this indicates the National (at this point Global is more correct of a term) PokéDex exists in the game.

I transfered over 3 of my spare Shiny Pokémon from Pokémon Go: I figured I would share some information for the Legality aspect of the game: Pokémon only obtained in Raids (most Legendary & some Mythical) can only be caught in a Premiere Ball Pokémon only obtained in Raids at lowest level can be 20 since Raids are either Lv. 20 or Lv. 25 for weather boosted Some Legendary Pokémon have been available as weekly rewards which opens up those Pokémon to be caught in regular balls at Lv. 15 The Met Date reflects POGO's met date (NOT the transfer date aka there are now ILLEGAL obtain dates) The Origin Game/Met Location are obviously from Go: However, there is one more piece of information that I figured that I would share. All 3 of my Shiny Pokémon have Xor = 0: Which I doubt is a coincidence!! (I would like to ask since Shiny Genesect was exclusively Japan only event in Gen 5: are the Gen 5 to 7 Mystery Gifts for Shiny Pokémon capable of being be obtained as "Xor=1?" or is Gen 5 Shiny Genesect illegal as a Star Shiny?)
  7. The consideration to your point @theSLAYERis that the original design of the game was for Square to be "special." There was never a flag added to the Raids for forced Shiny Stars. The Promoted Raid Shiny were also considered to be special. On paper the Squares are the more special of the two. However, due to poor coding, the opposite ended up being the case. GameFreak clearly missed the programming oversight which led to Squares being the more common of the two Shiny types in the overworld... and I highly doubt that GameFreak could predict that suspending the monitoring of the system clock for Frame Advancement to improve connectivity would open up the game to RNG abuse. (These were minor oversights.) The majority of these 1% forced Shiny in Promoted Raids were only available during the weekend window events... if Frame Advancement was impossible: only 1% of people would had been lucky enough to end up with a Promoted Shiny Raid. I would call 1% of the player base during a promotional event... is rare... & therefore: special. It's us the player base that removed the specialness of the Squares via RNG Manip!
  8. There was announcement earlier this year I believe it was tied to the Shiny Zerora or Celebi that Event Pokémon Shiny's going forward would ONLY be Square. Since this announcement was before the Crown Tundra's development was most likely not finished, it would make perfect sense that they would restrict Legendary Pokémon in-game to only being available in Stars... to help make the Squares feel special. (Which I love as a competitor who hates Squares... cause they make zero logical sense... and because Mythics are always barred from real competitions, I prefer this stance.)
  9. (this is the least wordy way that I could express this so sorry for the vomit of words...) I know from the Live RAM Edit/Cheat Code community that the memory address used to return the Shiny-status result to the memory sector which handles generating all Pokémon is NOT the same for the Dynamax Adventure Pokémon. The function is clearly returning the result to a memory address in that sector exclusively for the Dynamax Adventure Pokémon. It also has been confirmed that the game does dynamically assign a SEED to calculate all the attributes (excluding the Shiny-status) or that's my understanding from the RNG Manipulation community who is avoiding the conversation because it requires tools (like the update coming to Capture Sight to be able to hunt.) This leads me back to the original Raid Pokémon whose original SEED could be determined (with the Raid Plug-In) in PKHeX. Cheated or edited Pokémon under this circumstance are clearly illegal Pokémon but due to the sheer CPU/GPU horse power required, there's no way a program like PKHeX could perform that level of a legality check on load. This means these types of illegal Pokémon may always get the Green Checkmark in tools like it. @Kaphotics does bring up an important point... none of the Shiny Dynamax Adventure Pokémon that I have caught so far have had anything but a XOR=1 value. TLDR: Do we know 100% that the PID generation function for Shiny Dynamax Adventure Pokémon is either the exact same function as for all other mons OR a renamed copy & paste of that same function??? Pokémon Home is slowly implimenting more and more Legality features into it's code. I am just curious if one day we could do a reverse check to find out that a specific Shiny PID was impossible for Adventure mons (simular as to how we can with existing Raid mons.) Will GameFreak flip a Switch on the servers and bam! these edited mons turn into that illegal Egg.

  11. @sceptios, The use of markings for fixed IVs is not helpful. The animated rotation of the values actually doesn't work on my tablet. Furthermore, this does not compensated for Pokemon with other fixed values for the IVs. (For example: the Home reward Mythics have fixed values other than 31.) I do not understand why if the Item info (which is useless 99.9% of the time) is shown clearly but the IVs are not.

  15. @theSLAYER, I am repeating this question here because I feel like I will not be the only one to ask this or be confused. There is a Basic & a Rigel version of all the newer Events in the Events Gallery. Which one is the correct one to use my game? I have not seen the answer to this posted ANYWHERE. (Since I suspect there may be a 3rd or 4th once the 2nd Expansion comes out, I figured clarity would help people.)
  16. Hey all! Would you please add to the individual Pokémon Mystery Gifts in the the Event Pokémon Database an additional category of displayed information for Individual Values? The simple fact is that most Pokémon Mystery Gifts in the database have some number of fixed IV values. It would be nice to know if Pokémon Mystery Gift in the the Event Pokémon Database has some number of fixed IV's without having to down the event from the website and find a matching editor just to see that said Legendary has 3 fixed IVs all set to a value of 31. You could have the database show something simple like the following examples: Random 3 Random Fixed (All 31) All Fixed (31/0/31/31/31/0) I feel it would be benefical to most. (Yes, I do understand this would likely be a massive undertaking so I understand if it's events going forward only OR Gen 8 going forward only.)
  17. Hello all, For those who do not know me, I studied under a video game development program in the early 2000's. While I did not end up pursuing development as a career, I still actively apply the knowledge to trying to understand what's under the hood of the franchise that first made me want to go into video game development: Pokémon. The Atmosphere CFW OS for CFW uses a built-in cheat app called Edizon which means every single CFW Switch owner with Atmosphere OS are forced to use it. The homebrew app Edizon does not allow for a manual ON/OFF of individual codes which means people interested in experimenting have to maintain their own database of codes and go through the hassle of deleting and re-adding codes to the .TXT file for the codes for the game on a FREQUENT basis. 52800048 04000000 00770B4C 52800048 04000000 00770B60 52800048 A Few Words about LIVE RAM Editing in Sword & Shield: In order to accomodate new features in v1.2.0, the stored memory active in RAM witnessed drastic changes. The change from v1.1.1 to v1.2.0 shifted the location in memory of all the ENCOUNTERS handling BUT thankfully the entirety of it was moved together. The memory shift was found and applied to all the existing ENCOUNTERS related codes. The Sword & Shield titles ONLY have error handling for "impossible" Pokémon. There are no such "legality" checks built into the mainline Pokémon games furthermore GameFreak currently has no such services immplimented on the Pokémon Home servers. There is an error handler for Pokémon encountering mons outside of the National Dex range which drops in a Pikachu called "Egg." There is also an error handler for illegal gendered Pokémon (for example: Female Mew OR Genderless Charmander) which is displayed in-game by replacing the 2D sprite shown in menus or on Raid preview screens with a 2D sprite of a black PokéBall symbol. Since there's no error handling for "legit" Pokémon, the game is not tracking for LIVE RAM Edits. This means there's no error handling to correct a mistake you make (like that Genderless Charmander) and as such the game will allow it to occur. When a new Pokémon is encountered (whether it's in-game trade, wild, Raid, or even newly discovered Egg), there's a module which puts together all of the pieces of data which make up that Pokémon in a single sector of memory. The single module uses the EXACT same sector of memory for ALL types of encountered Pokémon from in-game Gift Pokémon to Fossil Pokémon, from eggs to Pokémon in tall grass. The module checks for any all the known (predetermined information like how in-game Gift Pokémon have pre-determined IVs) and plugs those values in. Next, the module randomizes any of the unknowns (like Nature when not Synconized OR Ability two ability mons.) After assembling the COMPLETED the module sends the whole Pokémon back to the game's code to use. Since all Pokémon are passing throught the same sector of memory, we can apply LIVE RAM Edits/codes to set the results of one or more charactistics which over-writes randomization and predetermined values. (Once again, the game will not attempt to correct any mistakes you make like assigning a Hidden Ability to a Route 1 wild Pokémon.) Since there's currently neither the mainline games nor Home are preforming any legality checking, you can VERY easily make ILLEGAL Pokémon. LIVE RAM Editing should be something in which is not taking lightly to ensure no ILLEGAL Pokémon spawn in-game as a result. While the game may not show your mistakes now, PKHeX will and down the road one day maybe even Pokémon Home will but when that happens chances are the mon will be deleted from the server. Everyone here is against the creation and sharing of ILLEGAL Pokémon so keep that in mind!
  18. I am personally under the opinion it was just to piss me off! Since every single Pokemon that I have caught or bred since December 2017 has been caught in a Beast Ball, I feel this was directed at people like me. It was over 2.5 hours for the first Mewtwo caught in Ultra Space with a Beast Ball. I had to breed a Smeargle specifically for Mewtwo's caught after that to Imprision their Recover. I bred EVERYTHING into Beast Balls. (It pains me to see Alolan and Galarian starters in regular Beast Balls!)

  22. @theSLAYER, do the VC mons show "Levitate (H)" when transfered into SM/USUM? (Home does NOT update the ability! It's SwSh that update the ability! My Neutralizing Gas showed Levitate on Home until transferring it into SwSh.)
  23. Koffing/Weezing is for sure in the Dream World (Rugged Mountain). It's definitely not in the Friend Safari. (It's also seems it was available in ORAS.) GameFreak will continue to make more Regional Variants over time, it's only safe to assume more Pokemon lines like Wingul/Peliper and Koffing/Weezing will have their abilties change to gain a Hidden Ability to the species. Since it's only a matter of time, before we loose Pokemon Bank and the 3DS servers forever. I am attempting to find out which Pokemon without a Hidden Ability CURRENTLY can be caugh with the game set to said non-existent Hidden Ability. It's looks as if the Dream World is out. (Does this mean Dream Radar is also out?) Thanks peeps for testing DexNav & Virtual Console!!
