My first game was Yellow... not even Red/Green (it did come out back then!), but even at those times, I don't think I got it at their release date, just because it's not localised in Korean. It seems you have my tastes too: I would pick X over Y over the cover's legends. I did the same with Reshiram over Zekrom, Kyogre over Groudon, though with Dialga and Palkia I picked the random one.

Pokemon in Korean is hilariously idiotic. The nomenclatures at least. Some are actual Korean, and those that could be Chinese loanwords instead are funny looking words that are clearly messed up English like "쿠아테일" (which says "Kua Tail)... which is a corruption of Aqua Tail. I cannot take these games seriously for a moment. But then again, the Japanese games are the same.

Creepy. Flamboyant. Orange. Shades. Suits. I Cannot.

People thought I was ridiculous for liking the Ice Cream Pokemon. I still do: it has nice stats, actually. Very nice stats asides from troll 79 speed. It's just that Ice typing and its movepool is less than spectacular. If it had Recover or an actual Water move that wasn't Water Pulse, it'd be quite useful. Yes, it even lives Azelf's Flamethrowers. I don't have any reason to dislike the Cotton Candy either, I guess.

Tropius is just trolling. It should have Lapras-esque stats or something. Oh yeah, and Vanilluxe has the same BST as Lapras. Yes <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/mellow.png" alt=":|" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/mellow@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Not sure. If I want to analyse the evils of the game, probably. I'll probably just research Pokemon's attacks, base stats, abilities, etc and just analyse each Pokemon's competitive capabilities. Like B2W2, I probably won't play the game until much later after its release, unless I feel otherwise. At least I can actually play this in other languages now, such as French or German.

Grass/Fairy is definitely likely, though I'm not sure if it will be a counterpart, but I'm sure Grass/Fairy will be used at least once. It should be. Flabebe might become one, I'm thinking.

I was just thinking that guy was those spooky trees, but I was also thinking of Treants (look it up) and those kinds of monsters. Maybe a close cousin of it will be made. I'm sure this thing will get Wood Hammer or even Leech Seed. It's a tree for crying out loud! Oh yeah, resistance to Ground. See, Grass isn't a bad defensive typing after all, even if its weaknesses are common. Abomasnow isn't all that bad either, except for that 7 weaknesses, which are ridiculous.

Oh yeah, Grass Pokemon. Remember Tropius? Is there any way for that thing to be salvagable at all, besides altering stats? Because that thing is too amazing of a Pokemon to have the stats it has, to be honest. It's a dragon of the tropics, taken liberty with to be flying and use bananas. Hoping it evolves or something.

That one on the right looks like a fusion of a tree and Dusknoir. Eep.

Grass/Ghost isn't really a bad thing... okay, maybe defensively it does it no favours, as it is weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, Ghost, and Dark (Poison and Bug are negated thanks to Ghost). But immunity to Leech Seed, able to tank Water/Electric/Grass attacks along with immunity to Normal and Fighting is actually pretty good. I think this one is an interesting concept and can't wait to see what it has. It will most likely be physically inclined though. I know Grass moves were quite lacking, but they need to make things like the weed concept that's in Megaman Battle Network or something, as those types of attacks would be very potent. I believe its ability will be very interesting.

Of course they'll take liberties, but eh. DC is ripe with pagan Roman things too.

I excuse Team Rocket because they were the first, though they didn't do much to improve them in the later games, it had a true feeling of a mafia and all somewhat. I don't like to go by feelings... but man. I can't take flamboyant people seriously over thugs dressed in black and smuggling Slowpoketails and controlling Radio Towers and force evolving Magikarps to Gyarados and stuff. I mean, we don't know about the new guys yet, but they look like clowns. Wonder how their boss will look like.

Ghost trees... I saw that concept a lot. Particularly in Korean games.

I mean... you have PANDA in France and all. Unless you're talking about the World Expo in 1855 and 1867 in Paris, the envy of the world at that time... Second French Empire was awesome, even though I prefer Ancien Regime over all.

You know me. I'm a sucker for European culture and whatnot. Especially French. I'm a Francophile. So this kind of stuff does sting me. And I know we're not living in the past but we're living in modern times. Yeah.

Well, not really. Everybody has their own tastes: I'm not going to say use Technician Bullet Punch Scizor like everybody and their mothers (though it would be recommended). I have to know what kind of Pokemon you have, what you like, and how to deal with the rest of what people like to use. I cannot exactly help you in this one VM, but I can say this: KNOW YOUR POKEMON. Knowing them and how they battle and what strategies they generally use (applies to your own and your enemy's) will go a long way in helping. Some Pokemon are more unpredictable than others.

Also is Global Showdown Singles or Doubles or what? Because the mode of battle can change a lot of things too.

Yeah sorry, you will not last long. Oh boy... if you want to get into competitive battling and metagaming....... this will take a while and some Spartan level training. If you're ever free you might want to ask Tbird or Lorshy for a battle or something. Well, if they are free. I'm on the opposite side of the world so I do not know if I can be free all the time, but I can help you with the team design later. Those Pokemon just cannot synergise properly like that. There is a lot to change there and work on.

That depends: are you speaking competitively or in-game? Because if you mean competitively (as that forums was made for competitive battling), it won't last very long, as there's too many weak to Stealth Rocks, little coverage, and have no synergy with each other because three of those are Fire types weak to many things.

Wrote something about creating movesets and team building here, though it may be out of date.

My favourite Pokemon? I have many. I do like Empoleon too, but I prefer Reshiram over Zekrom. I like beautiful and elegant Pokemon like Gardevoir, and mostly old generation Pokemon, particularly from Gen I and II. I used to like Mewtwo a lot, but I think I prefer Articuno. I like Lapras, Milotic, Azumarill... I like mostly Water and Ice Pokemon but also I do like Grass and Ghost Pokemon too.

수학 and 국어... heh. Your equivalent of English (I am assuming you are North American) is my nation's "Korean". English is the primary foreign language taught here due to US imperialism. I'll be honest: I don't really like Korean either: at least nowadays, there's too much random mix of foreign loanwords that my language has little to no relevance to it. The rest are Chinese loanwords but at least those make sense. When I learned English I thought pronouncing things was stupidly difficult due to the 9001 exceptions... I'm much better at writing stuff than speaking.

As for maths, I'm good with it... except when it comes to Calculus. Why? Calculus is all about uncertainty: all the maths I have learned in secondary school was about absolute and certain answers.

Gen VI metagame speculation

That squid........... I know I've seen that concept someplace. I know I have. I don't know what it is but I am of the belief it is a concept used elsewhere as well. Dark/Psychic typing... that thing, judging by aesthetics, typing, and abilities, looks more like a utility based Pokemon. We'll probably see things like Magic Coat or Mirror Coat on that, along with Hypnosis, Taunt, Torment, and other teasing moves. Like Eelektross, it'll probably be another Water Pokemon without the ubiqitous Water typing. 4x weakness to Bug is damaging, but it may be its only weakness (we don't know what Fairy will be good against except Dragon). But Contrary? Come on... I hope it doesn't get something akin to Draco Meteor or Psycho Boost. They always do this: taking unique or fairly exclusive abilities and putting them on new Pokemon and making it a commonplace. It scares me, but it was bound to happen. The swapping thing is almost like Heart Swap/Guard Swap/Power Swap type of moves, except this time, it has the possibility of Contrary, so it is able to mess things up. Perhaps lower enemy stats and then switch and actually gain the stats you wanted to? Eh too much effort. However, Suction Cups is interesting, allowing it to never be phased and like Octillery it can receive stats from a Baton Pass chain or something, except this guy looks like it can actually use actual stat boosting moves that isn't Charge Beam or something. Psychic/Dark STAB is horrible vs Darks and Steels, but it may learn Focus Blast to mitigate that. I can't wait to see what it gets though: it looks interesting. Looks like the blade has No Guard, which was expected, because it's a Sword. I didn't expect anything less. Huh so Panda grew up to be ferocious. It's STAB is unresisted by all except Heracross and Toxicroak....... both of which would probably decimate it. Assuming of course they are anything common. And Fairies... what if they resist both? Eh I'm unsure. But Panda looks like it will rip and tear things apart. With that Leaf in its mouth, I won't be surprised if some random Grass physical attack ends up in its movepool. Panda looks like it will be a more immediate threat than Scrafty, as Scrafty depends on setting up to defeat its foes (which makes it nearly nigh unstoppable). Also Lorshy just wait: your Beartic will be even more useless with weakness to Fairy. (I'm hoping that's not true, but it's still a possibility: there is high speculation that Fairies have some relationship with Ice. Ice should resist Fairy and Fairy be weak to Ice). New fairies... interesting. That thing reminds me of Whimsicott. God forbid that gains a Fairy type, though it looks like those mischievous fairy from folklore. This puffball and a bird... version exclusives. And I knew that Clauncher and Skrelp were version exclusives! Like most people speculated, Yvetal is Dark/Flying, while Xerneas ends up Fairy type. Hmm... I'm sure there is a relation between Dark and Fairy. I'm sure there is.

At least Team Plasma was salvagable with their medieval theme and later the darker terrorist type and how their structure went. The story element was good. The new ones however............. nope can't do. Where are the French who are very much interested in their aesthetics? It's a bit too American for style and almost K-POPish... except orange. I don't know: something's off with it.

What the heck @ the new bad guys...

Okay. Seriously? People in orange suits and shades... and the women looking nearly identical? What? Are they really headed towards zombie one-minded mode? And only want to make money? Even Team Plasma was better than this. I'd think even Muslims would make better bad guys than this, but nope. Chuck Testa. They do remind me of something though. I cannot point my fingers to exactly what though: it escapes my mind.

COME ON! This is France, not America/Canada/Disneyland/whatever >___<

I think though, they tried to reunite the Korean peninsula, while the two leaders were publicly enemies at one point, they were cooperating secretly and tried to reunite, until the West went "lol nope" and killed the president of South Korea for trying to go against their will and "go against democracy". They were trying to make North focus on military and South on economy. Then they destroyed North Korean economy and now it's not in a liveable condition: it used to be better than South Korea's until the said president (Park Chung Hee) came and sold RoK's economy to America. His daughter is our current president who won the 2012 election. Ugh -__-

It's all right. Just reading is adequate enough.

The reason they cannot get along is because the two are in conflicting ideologies: a Soviet-based communist/socialist atheistic nation vs a Western styled republic. It's Hegelian dialectics made by the West: it has to be one or another. Forget choice C: it doesn't exist (and choice C is the only way Korea will ever unite: through its common ground, a strong monarchy as it always had been without subscription to any ideologies). Obviously 99% of the world supports South Korea and its way... and regards North Korea as a joke. They are right: DPRK is a joke. But there are things that DPRK is doing right, even though I hate to admit it, such as trying to be Korean as much as possible and the fact things like LGBT rights are not a social issue there.

8 July 1994: death of our sun god Kim Il Sung, name literally meaning "I became the sun" (日成). Good riddance.

Even after his death, he's still someone with influence in the DPRK... as Eternal President, buried in the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun. Man was full of charisma, however, and people did mourn for his death sincerely. Removing God from society tends to replace Him with a far less viable substitute. Atheistic nation? Not so much.
