Yeah version 6 includes both patches The English Names or The Katakana names

I don't think it would patch correctly. In order for that to happen Magnius and Kazo would have to work together but they have stated that they do not have any intention of doing so.

Well you could try Magnius' Translation: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=179686 I haven't had a problem with freezing with his translation.
