Actually, the code that's all zeros is just a blank slot, it's not a Pokemon. Could you possibly make a code for a party Pokemon shorter?

In PokeSav, hex must be entered manually. So if that's how you made them, yup, they're illegal.

I am trying to create a Togekiss 'hatched from an egg,' but it keeps telling me that I found the egg from DayCareCouple and that it was hatched at the location DayCareCouple.

I am putting it as the following (using Pokesav):

Met in Place: DayCareCouple (2000)

Egg Hatched at: Faraway Place (3002)

Hidden Hexadecimal values:

44h: D0 45h: 07 <-- to specify that it came from the DayCareCouple (2000)

46h: 83 47h: 00 <-- to specify that it hatched in Goldenrod City

85h: 00 <-- to specify that it is a 'hatched' pokemon

86h: 04 <-- put it in a pokeball, because thats the only ball for a hatchling.

I have a feeling I've got something wrong in the hexadecimals, maybe in 44h/45h or perhaps in 46h/47h.

Anyone know where I've gone wrong?

PokeSav is messed up in the way that 'hatched at' is actually where you got the egg, and 'met at' is where it was hatched. You have the hex right, it's just those things that went wrong.

I'm having some trouble getting this. I understood it, but I still seem to be putting the numbers in the wrong locations. Someone give me some example numbers.

I want a Makuhita caught at Dark Cave with a Pokeball. So the numbers would be... 00,00,DC,05,04, correct? I think the last time I tried this I kept getting "Mystery Zone."

Hey by any chance does anyone know what the 85h is for a pokemon caught by headbutting a tree in viridian forest?

I just checked a Pineco I caught in Ilex Forest, and its 85h is 05... for caves? I guess forests classify as caves. 05 should be the same for Viridian, they're both forests.

This question may or may not have been answered, but I couldn't find it, so any help would be appreciated:

For HG/SS Pokesav 'hatched' pokemon in HG/SS, do you put DayCareCouple (2000) for Met At, or do you put Faraway Place (3002) for Met At? and is Pokemon DayCare (100) exclusively the DayCare from D/P?

I thought DayCareCouple (2000) would be the DayCare from D/P, and that HG/SS might use the exact same code for it. I then thought that maybe it should be Faraway Place (3002), and that the 44h, 45h, 46h and 47h hidden hexadecimal values should take care of distinguishing that it was from the DayCare Couple.

This is interesting to me because it seems like if you note that a Pokemon's hometown is from Johto, but then pick the DayCareCouple from D/P, if it is exclusive to D/P, then it should trigger a legality checker that pings hexadecimal values and 'met at' locations for a Pokemon egg.

It's just DayCareCouple. Just like Platinum, the 44h and 45h would be D0 and 07, respectively. Farawayplace is only for locations not in D/P.

Another thing, if you use a proper PID for an egg pokemon, that is, use the PID/IV generator to come up with a legal combination that corresponds with the IVs, is it suspicious/illegal? I know (think) that egg pokemon PID has nothing to do with their IVs, so should the random PID generator be used instead of the PID/IV generator?

Hatched Pokemon shouldn't use PID/IV generator. The random generator is what they need.

Also, what about 85h values for strange places, specifically like catching Groudon/Kyogre in Hidden Tower? It is very easy to determine 85h values for some pokemon, but it is hard to create others, like the legendaries. What is a 'caught' Arceus' 85h value supposed to be?

Embedded Tower Kyogre/Groudon have 05 as their 85h. Hall of Origin Arceus is also 05.

Some legends can be confusing... Lugia is caught in water that's inside a cave, but its 85h is 07, for water. Really, that's the only sort of time where I'd say it's complicated, even then not so much.

If you got it yourself, it's not hacked... the program just isn't updated. But yeah, Legal's gonna think it's hacked, even if it's not, until the next version.

Yep, the stats will go down... if you used the party code. There's no way an Altaria's getting 510 attack.

And yeah, I'll try and find one that works... it'd be easy if I could trade it to you, since I'll be editing the .sav directly and there's no chance of a bad egg. I don't know if I can make a code that's not a bad egg for this Altaria, it's pretty, uh, hacked up.

And to shad99, do you want that to have the legal limits for EVs, or just 255 in everything?

Tried anyway, I made two codes. One is for your party, the other for the PC. They're both for Platinum, L + R.

The party code. This one does have the stats you wanted, exactly. Party slot 1. Eh, also, don't level it up or its stats will subtract a lot.

And this is for your PC, but it does not have the stats you wanted. Again, the PC regulates stats... actually, the stats are as high as I could get them, in the order of HP/Atk/Def/SpA/SpD/Spd: 250/184/196/151/217/182. The stats are sort of close to the 200's you wanted, but the attack... is not. But this code is shorter. Box 15, slot 1.

I know you hate typing these things out by hand (I had to type out 30+ of both Pokemon and .pgt codes before I got my Windows, I hated it, too), but I have no clue how to make them shorter... Show the codes to Riolu Aura Sphere Now and maybe he could work something out.

It doesn't use any of those... the IVs and nature aren't related (or so I've heard) to the PID.

Event PID types for Gen IV aren't listed in PID/IV generator. I don't know how to make them from scratch, either, maybe a moderator does.

As for saying that it's hacked, Legal.exe hasn't been updated for a long time.

A shiny Celebi for PBR? I've never tried a shiny event on PBR, but you could try this. Since I honestly don't know what PBR checks for, I had to make this an Ageto Celebi, it's the one with an unknown PID generation method... easy to make, eh.

Shorter? Hate to say it but the only way that I know to shorten it is to put it in the PC, but I'm pretty sure its stats won't be the same... do you want me to go ahead with that?

I'd love to make that code for you, but the trainer name is too long and the SID can't be over 65535. And a thing to note, the stats will revert to normal once you put it into your PC... Scizor can't get all those stats other than HP, I'm estimating, normally. Those are crazy high yo.

I'm thinking the code would have to be for your party... being in the PC normalizes stats, right? So the code's going to have to be long. I took a guess at what changes you'd like... I changed the OT to "master" and the SID to 59432. Tell me if you needed something else.

It needs to be run through the trash byte normalizer... and you should try and get its PID type to be Common NDS/GBA (Type 1). That's what it should be.

You ever notice how there's never any events that have Pearl as their region? I'm thinking Diamond is default or something... kind of like HG/SS events saying Heart Gold. I have no clue why it does that, but that's how it goes.

Yeah, neither have I, but being a computer guy in other areas as well, when you have enough cases, eventually something random can happen because the circumstances are just right. It's just a possibility I am leaving as an option for explaining some of this.

I would think that if something did happen from the glitches and stuff, the Pokemon would've been deleted... I've had that happen, but not through cloning.

Actually, now that I think about it... if the cloning method glitched up, the Charizard might look odd on Emerald, yes, but once it's Pal Parked, there really shouldn't have been any visible flaws. It would just say Hoenn, Arrived at yada yada.

My friend does not know how to do RNG abuse. Trust me, if it was anybody else I would have assumed that this was hacked a long time ago, but I just cannot believe that this person, of all people, would lie to me.

It seems like you're pretty bent on the trust issue. Coming from a neutral person, I'd say they're not telling the truth about how they got it... just taking it from the facts given, really. This wouldn't be the first time someone gained someone's trust and tossed it aside in history, ya know~

I've honestly never heard of a Pokemon getting corrupted by trading/cloning, or even just randomly getting corrupted for that matter. Unless they used an AR... or hacked it?

Now that I actually look at it, it's missing a country, too... does your friend know how to RNG? Otherwise, seeing as the IVs are so high, that makes it seem even more unbelievable.

45h doesn't need to be messed with (44h and 45h are for eggs), what you said goes there should go in 85h... which relates to the location captured, so yeah, 05 in there.

It also needs to be in a Pokeball... HG/SS balls are in Pokeballs, the 86h is for telling the game what ball to turn it into, in this case, Heavy is 14.

And that's all I can think of regarding legality. If you post the file we can take a closer look at it.

But for the communication error thing, it wouldn't freeze up even if had a terribly hacked Pokemon with you, I know, I've done it before. Maybe if you're doing it with the AR plugged in, you might want to try to do it without... but that's never happened to me.

Hacked Pokemon have nothing to do with it, really.

It throws any random one at you, not always a legal one. It's intended for hatched Pokemon, since their PIDs are pretty random.
