  2. Wild Area Event #9: Pokémon Day 2020

This is a wild area event held by Sword and Shield. This event raid allows players to obtain the Gigantamax Toxtricity that is not obtainable in the base game.

This also marks the first time the Kanto Starters and Mewtwo have appeared in raids for Sword and Shield, though Mewtwo was programmed to be uncatchable.

Grimmsnarl and Kingler were Sword exclusive raids, and Hatterene and Orbeetle were Shield exclusive raids.
Though it is important to note, that the host can invite players of the opposite version to join in the raids.

  7. PK7: Unobtainable Ultra Necrozma

While this forme is accessible once you capture Necrozma, and gain access to the the N-Solarizer and N-Lunarizer,
and also having a Solgaleo or Lunala in your team (for the fusion process),
this forme, like Mega Evolution, cannot be maintained outside battle.

How this file was obtained, was by using NTR Codes that allowed catching of Trial Pokemon,
as this Pokemon was not meant to be captured as-is in the games.

This encounter cannot be shiny. This file will make your game save illegal.
The details below refer specifically to this file.

  8. PK8: Unobtainable Eternamax Eternatus

With a Base Stat Total of over 1,000, Eternamax Eternatus is probably not meant to be owned by any trainer.

However, by hacking it into a raid (save edit), and setting the form to 1 (instead of the default 0), after it was caught in a raid battle,
it does not revert back to regular Eternatus.
(Even if the "send into box" and party/summary screen shows a regular Eternatus)

This can also be achieved with a ROM edit: instead of having the EncounterScenario as Eternatus_3 in pkNX, if it was changed to a scenario that allows catching, such as Regigigas_Raid_Battle or Motostoke_Gym_Challenged, it could be captured, and would retain it's form.
Here's an example of me messing with the EncounterScenario:

The Eternamax Eternatus can be brought to the Isle of Armor and have it follow you, and a somewhat small version of it will follow you, when you set it to the lead in your party.
However, it will stay on the spot, and is unable to follow you. Thanks to Anubis (Sibuna_Switch) for testing this. (source video)
Important to note: loading any save with Eternatus in Eternamax mode will cause it to revert to standard form.

Having this in your save will make it illegal. As per any item in the Unreleased/Beta PKM Gallery, use at your own risk.

  10. Gigantamax Toxtricity

This Pokémon is a rare variant that is capable of Gigantamaxing, and can only be obtained via Max Raid Battles in the Wild Area.

While not always available for capture as it could not be found in a den in the Wild Area, an event from February 07, 2019 to ? made it more commonly found, by having it appear in dens normally not associated with it.
The Amped form can be found by Sword hosts, and the Low Key form can be found by Shield hosts.

To be able to encounter this, user's Switch must be connected to the internet, with the Mystery Gift>Get Wild Area News option used during the event period..
Alternatively user must have connected to the internet and redeemed a Mystery Gift during the event period.

  12. PK4: Unobtainable Shiny Spiky-eared Pichu

In Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver, when players bring an event Shiny Pichu to the shrine at Ilex Forest, players will receive a Spiky-eared Pichu.
The Spiky-eared Pichu comes with the moves Pain Split (unique event move), Volt Tackle (egg move in Gen 4), Swagger (TM move), and Helping Hands (HGSS Move Tutor),
at Lv. 30 holding a Zap Plate, Female, and it cannot be shiny.

Through the power of hacking, theSLAYER obtained a shiny Spiky-eared Pichu.
[this was obtained by changing TID/SID of the Pokemon, to make it shiny.]

It's normally impossible to obtain more than one Spiky-eared Pichu, as it cannot be traded,
and it also cannot be transferred to future generations.

  22. Saves for Local Distributor

With the Local Distributors out in the wild due to the gigaleak, any Gen 6 and 7 event distribution can be achieved.

    Standard instructions
    1. Use Checkpoint on your 3DS
    2. Download the files from this page, and extract them into your Checkpoint's extdata
    3. Restore the extdata into the local distributors.
    4. Launch the game in distribution from extdata mode (hold down X + Y on game launch)

Instructions for troubleshooting and distributing custom events
-2. You're gonna need to have the distributor installed before any of this can work, obviously.
Install the .CIA file. Make sure you're on latest Luma CFW.
Launch the game in distribution from extdata mode (hold down X + Y on game launch)
-1. Only for Gen 7 distro: If you booted it before and it won't load, you gotta delete the secure value before attempting this. I recommend using savedatafiler to do that.
    0. Download the file that was uploaded to this page
    1. Go into the haishin folder
    2. Replace the file that is named 1 with a wonder card full. Rename it to 1
    3. If you like, you can change the distribution text (seen in info.txt) using a hex editor. I recommend HxD, but whatever really.
(Use a hex editor so that the placements of bytes in the file won't change)
    4. Change your 3DS date to any date within the range of the template data (start and end date).
(tho in this data, the info.txt provided should cover all 3DS dates)
    5. Use Checkpoint to import the extdata into the relevant distro.
    6. Launch the game in distribution from extdata mode (hold down X + Y on game launch)

Note: from what I was told, the checksum on the wonder card full needs to be valid. Unless you know what you're doing, do not even attempt to create one.

So in the images in the screenshot, shows an Eternal Floette for Gen 6 (never distributed, totally custom card based on the speculated debug card),
and a Shiny Solgaleo for Gen 7 (was not a Local Wireless distribution, but only existed as serial code distribution. real card)

In an effort to keep our forums out of legal trouble (and stay afloat), I cannot stress this enough: do not ask for the distro, and do not link to the distro.
Doing that is against our site's rules.
Only the saves will be provided here.

And quick note: no, not aware of any method to distribute any G6 nor G7 event from PC to 3DS.
It feels as though the guide is as clear as it can be. I strongly suggest that no threads or posts be created asking for help or issues relating to this.

    Notes:
If you get a "incorrect file size" error, that probably means you're using JKSM. Use checkpoint to restore the extdata.

  24. Classic: Celebi Tour Celebi

Throughout August to November 2001, a Celebi Tour was held across Europe.
At that point, @Dr.Matt was able to grab the Celebi during the Spanish stop of the Celebi Tour.
Trainer ID can span from 0 - 65535, possible Original Trainer Names being CTOUR, FRANCO, JENS, NICO.

He was able to save his FRANCO Celebi from the plague which is Gen 2 cartridges dying batteries wiping the saves,
using the combination of storing the Celebi on his Mega Memory Card (though it sadly glitched up and become corrupted) and Pokemon Stadium 2.

After finding out that Dr.Matt has the Celebi but is unable to upload it,
@suloku contacted Dr.Matt, in hopes being able to grab it and contribute it, as suloku has a GCB cart reader/flasher.

Dr.Matt's trained Celebi can be seen in the screenshot with Stadium 2, as well his legitimate certificate for it.

Huge thanks to @Dr.Matt for keeping this Celebi alive for so many years,
and @suloku for reaching out to help obtain this.

Many event Pokemon were lost to time thanks to the drained battery plague, so this is a very rare find!

THIS POKEMON WILL NOT BE LEGAL ON ANY VIRTUAL CONSOLE RELEASE,
As it has Location as "Event", not normally obtainable in game.

  25. Classic: PCNY Shiny Lugia

This event was distributed to players at the New York Pokémon Center: Gotta catch 'em all! Station,
and the machine were distribuing various PCNY Pokémon across the period of November 22, 2001 to March 13, 2003.

The schedule of Pokemon changes weekly, and players were restricted to collecting one Pokemon per week per visit,
and the restriction was enforced by the distribution machine; it checks for data stored in the Gen 2 save itself.
It appears that the data stored is the header/title, which is checked against the distribution data.

This Lugia has a 0.5% chance of occurring, and was always distributed as shiny.
A more comprehensive schedule list can be seen here.

    The dates for distribution was:
    November 15 to 21, 2002
    December 6 to 12, 2002

A more comprehensive schedule list can be seen here.
DUE TO HAVING AN EVENT LOCATION,
THIS POKEMON WILL NOT BE LEGAL WITH ANY VIRTUAL CONSOLE RELEASE
(AND BY EXTENSION, CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED TO GEN 7 AND ONWARDS).

Also, if you want more Shiny Lugia, or various other PCNY mons, @Deoxyz has compiled a save containing mons received from the PCNY distribution machine here.
