I spend a while with the demo now and it's really interesting. Especially all the Pokemon that never officially released.

If you hit select on the title screen a debug menu will open. The second option in there will start the game and saving is actually possible, you can't continue your saved game though. Anyway you could get some pk2 out of the save file but I don't think it's really worth to get any of them as their sprites are the special thing.

The title screen by the way looks really nice as well, I like this one even more than the final screen.

Hey! I'm making VC ports for these. Can you get nice GIFs of both title screens like above but in greyscale? Also, if you know of anyone that has the extended version of Rodin Bold with the Japanese Kana included please let me know. I'm trying to create .cia files as close to retail as possible.

  2. Bad news... I deleted that save as I figured it wasn't viable and I'm not able to reproduce it. I've tried a few things and now the save won't open.

It was actually the default save file but I had ventured out a bit and ran into a Pidgey.

Cool! Let me check out how Traiver managed to do it!

  3. This may be off-topic but it's worth mentioning...

I have toyed around with the save files and managed to open the default save file (from Silver Debug - Header Fixed) using Pikasav. It seems that Pikasav recognizes the save as a Crystal file. (Anyone want to venture towards explaining that?) What's interesting is that it loads and shows some data, but that data isn't present when entering each associated menu. (I later tried to load a save from the same version and title saved after running the game on debug and I was greeted with an error.)

I've also tried to convert the .sgb file (by renaming the file extension to .gb) to .cia using the GB VC Converter with no such luck yet.

Anyone else playing around with the saves at all?

PS - I'm currently playing these on my O3DS with GameYob.

  4. Hi all,

@Jovie and I are both designers, however I’m also a front-end developer. If you guys and gals want some help with styling, I can author/edit the CSS and even create a quick LESS framework for easy edits to things like colors and sizing in the future. I’d love to help the community incorporate the nice banners and logos designed by Jovie.

Inbox me for links to samples of my work.

Actually it's been confirmed that it's distributed at Pokemon Centers (probably via local wireless), game exclusive.

@argus1963 will you be able to go? :3

@theSLAYER, the blog post at Serebii specifically states SC redemption with dates. I assumed these were also taking place at PCs (among other locations) and not via local wireless. At any rate, the details are slim.

Sometimes (and I don’t really know why) this method works when the app won’t launch:

Right click PKHeX.app and choose “show package contents”. Next, enter the “Contents” folder and then the “MacOS” folder. Run “WineskinLauncher”.

Hey @jasenyoface, I think the best solution for most users would be to simply download the .exe and use Wine (the version bundled with WineBottler) to open the app. After many failed attempts to use WineBottler to create a Mac app solution when the supplied app refuses to cooperate (does not open), I decided to try this and it works every time. Some icons do not display properly but this is common with Wine. What do you think? (Could save you a ton of *help* requests down the road.)

  7. Hi all!

Just thought I'd offer a resolution for an issue I was observing on Mac with the very convenient PKHeX.app (17/03/08) - Thank you @jasenyoface

I like many use an FTP (FTPD + FileZilla) to transfer smaller files like screen captures and saves to-and-fro without un-mounting my SD - I also don't have an SD reader for my Mac so this is most convenient.

I've seen multiple posts about the dreaded "unsupported file" issue and I also ran into this.

It seems that FileZilla's default settings are to blame. The default file transfer type is set to 'Auto' and for whatever reason reduces the file size by and arbitrary byte (441,855 vs. 441,856 bytes).

Correcting this can be accomplished by changing the Default transfer type from 'Auto' to 'Binary' in File Types under the Transfers section in FileZillas Settings - FileZilla > Settings > Transfers > File Types > Default transfer type: > Binary (Image below).

Thank you for the wonderful software and community!
