C-Gear Background Need Help! Info inside!
phoenragon replied to LacusEternal's topic in Saves - Editing Help
There's a tutorial for that: Custom C-Gear Skins with PokeGen[Tutorial + Resource] There are already some neat custom skins there, but you can submit requests as well. There is also a basic walkthrough of the process for changing your C-Gear skin. -
You can't use PokeGTS to send eggs to your game, because you can't trade for eggs over the GTS. It's just not in the programing of the game to be able to handle it, so it corrupts the data. Check this thread: Pokemon Selector, particularly post #s 55, 56 and 57.

If all you're wanting are official C-gear skins, then the link Codr provided is all you need. However, if it's custom images you want, there's a tutorial for that: Custom C-Gear Skins with PokeGen[Tutorial + Resource] There are already some neat custom skins there, but you can submit requests as well. So you're playing Pokemon Black/White and you try and visit your PC box, only to encounter... the Blue Error Screen! (duh duh duh *dramatic reverb*) What causes the Blue Error Screen? The blue error screen is the result of the game encountering data that has somehow been corrupted. This corrupted data can't be read and causes the game to crash. There could be several different culprits, but the one I've seen most often (and the focus of this guide) is incorrect or improperly used AR codes for WonderCard Pokemon. In the specific case of the WonderCard codes, the failed code generates corrupted data in two of your PC boxes: 6 and 7. Corrupted data in my PC boxes? Does that mean all my Pokemon are gone?! If the issue is the result of failed WonderCard codes, the answer is NO. From what I have seen, it is only the EMPTY SPACES in those two boxes that get corrupted, not the Pokemon themselves. The Pokemon are perfectly fine and can even be rescued if you have the means. So, how do I fix it? What you need to do is overwrite the corrupted data in the empty spaces of box 6 and 7. You can accomplish this by either manually adding Pokemon to those empty spaces (Methods 1 and 3), or deleting ALL the data from the boxes (Method 2). 1. NDS Backup Adapter Plus/R4 Save Dongle + Pokegen This Method is recommended for those who want to save the Pokemon in the affected boxes and don't mind purchasing a very handy device to accomplish it. Pokémon Black and White (U/E) Action Replay Codes
phoenragon replied to AllyKat's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
Thanks, Demonic! Going to try these out now! EDIT: THEY WORK! THANK YOU! Also of note, when stored as different codes this way, you can actually select all the codes and the game will still load. I'm going to try making a copy of these all using different activate buttons for each code, and see if it will then serve the same function that the mass code does, while working on an ARDSi. Thank you so much Demonic and Delta for taking time to work on this! EDIT: Modified Box Delete codes for different activate button combos. You can load as many of these as needed (even all 24) at the same time and the game will boot. I tested this on an ARDSi and retail cart and it worked. If you are looking at this to fix the blue error screen, try boxes 6 and 7 first. -
Pokémon Black and White (U/E) Action Replay Codes
phoenragon replied to AllyKat's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
Didn't work on my ARDSi. The game white-screens. It could just be too long of a code (with too many conditionals, as you pointed out) for an ARDSi to handle. Could the code be separated into codes for each box? -

PM'd. Sounds like some awesome stuff. Thanks! -
Pokémon Black and White (U/E) Action Replay Codes
phoenragon replied to AllyKat's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
Thanks Delta. I'll work on trying it now. Will edit with results. And thanks for the explanation on the code structure. I only know a bit about it and I've been wanting to learn more. =) EDIT: Second half of the third line from the bottom is only 7 characters long. I added an extra 0 (in keeping with previous code segment structures). EDIT again: Game now white screens on boot. -
Pokémon Black and White (U/E) Action Replay Codes
phoenragon replied to AllyKat's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
Delta, thanks for taking the time to work on this. I tested the one you changed in your previous post, but it froze the game and this time it stayed frozen until I rebooted the system. =/ On a separate note though, I've made a single code than can delete one box (box 7), but it only deletes the Pokemon (won't delete eggs) and don't know how to code for it to do it. I'm working on this for another poster in the forum. He messed up his game with an AR code and now he can't get into his boxes. I know how to fix it using an NDS Adapter plus and PokeGen, but I'm trying to use what he has instead of telling him to go buy something. -
Pokémon Black and White (U/E) Action Replay Codes
phoenragon replied to AllyKat's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
Thanks Delta. I'll change those and test it. Will edit with the results EDIT: I changed all but the last d2 to d1. No change. Has anyone been able to use this on an actual AR? I know I read a few pages back that really long codes that work with flash carts and emulators may not work on an AR. Maybe we can pull the code for each individual box and make it a separate code? It wouldn't be nearly as convenient, but it may work. I'm going to try it. -
EDIT: I checked the codes and they both worked. No PC errors and I was able to get both Pokes, so I'm not sure why it's not working for you. Be sure you are following the checklist in Codr's Questions, Answers and Troubleshooting Sticky, especially when trying to use WonderCard codes. EDIT: I have posted a more in-depth guide on the subject and have moved all relevant info there: How to Fix the Blue Error Screen when Accessing your PC (Pokemon Black/White)

Pokémon Black and White (U/E) Action Replay Codes
phoenragon replied to AllyKat's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
Regarding the box delete code, I've tried both versions of the code, and have not been successful yet. I've tried several of the activate button combos and all it does is freeze the game while I'm pressing them. I let go and it unfreezes, but no deleted boxes. =/ I've double checked to make sure I'm using the correct version of the code for my game (Black) and that I've copied from Delta's post correctly. I also open the menu to Using and ARDSi and a DSLite on a retail Black cart, if that means anything. Thanks -
Pokémon Black and White (U/E) Action Replay Codes
phoenragon replied to AllyKat's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
Thanks for this! On question: I saw a few pages back a version for this code for only 18 boxes. Do we need to use that one if we only have 18 boxes available and this one if we have the full 24? -

I have to second this because I have one and use the thing ALL THE TIME. OP, I'd really recommend going this route. You can backup ANY Pokemon save (even HG/SS, B/W and B2/W2, which the AR can't do) using the NDS Adapter Plus and then edit it directly with Pokegen. No more messing with AR codes, and you can add as many Pokemon as you like all in one sitting, thus meeting the "add [pokemon] to my game WITHOUT doing them one at a time" requirement you mentioned. The whole process is streamlined this way and it makes it SO MUCH easier (and more enjoyable at that). I know I sound like a commercial here, but I'm speaking from personal experience; I made the switch to this from an AR and I DO NOT REGRET IT. I haven't even used my AR since getting the NDS AP. According to the hkems website, it will work on 64 bit OS's as well. There is a thread on the hkems message boards for a driver that supports both 32 bit and 64 bit systems. I've only run mine on a 32 bit though, so I can't vouch for this personally. An alternative is the R4 Save Dongle I've used both of these adapters and they work really well. Programs are simple and easy to use.

How to backup and restore your GBA save files
phoenragon replied to arhacker's topic in Systems, Flashcards, and Emulation
I've followed the instructions and can't get this to work. The program doesn't see the gba, I just get the error that says "reset and requesting normal boot, gba not found" Any way to test the cable? I didn't make it myself, I bought it, so I am not 100% sure that it works, but I don't know how to test it outside of this program and so far it does not work. I've also tried rudolph's backup tool, but I can't get it to work either =/ EDIT: Nevermind. Finally got a working tool for backing up my saves: I used Rudolph's tool by patching it to work on my ARDSi. Worked like a charm! -
Hm, good point when you say it like that. I'm just so used to generating the code being the absolute LAST thing you do in this process. (Pokesav ruined me =P) Anyway, I made an assumption that was incorrect, and I've been corrected. It makes sense now that I have the understanding of how it works. Moving on... I'm only trying to use one code at a time. I've recreated the code several times using different button combos (select only, or L+R) and tried them each one at a time, using the appropriate activation buttons for the code, but to no avail. (this is what you were referring to when you asked about how I was activating the code, correct?)
-
You misunderstood me. All I was saying was that I didn't expect the combo box to affect code that was generated BEFORE it's value is modified. I understand now that it does, so yes, I have the common sense to understand that changing the combo box value is going to affect the code. Aside from the combo box needing to be changed, is the rest of what I did right? (referring to the pics)
-
Not sure if trolling or... (trying to be funny here, laugh a bit! =P) But seriously, it's not lack of common sense on my part. I'm just not familiar with the program. This is the first thing I've tried to do with this program, and I'd really like to understand how everything works. What exactly does that combobox do? Yes, I notice now that the code changes (gotta scroll the code box to see most of the changes). But where do I go from here? I've copied the code to my ARDSi and it still won't activate and dragging the XML file over gave me 13 codes: 12 labeled "partial card (#1-12)" and one named "Used wonder card ID's". All say press select. Gonna guess this isn't right either... =/
-
Well from experience I know nothing happens. But just I don't see how it makes a difference since it's set on that one whenever the generate button is pressed. It just seems like changing that wouldn't effect the code since the code gets generated first, but obviously it does, since the PokeGen creator is the one telling me that it does =P So if I change that (I'm guessing to match the slot on the mystery gift screen), it will work?
-
Honesty, not really. I'm not new to code generating from wonder cards, I just haven't used PokeGen before. EDIT: I'm GUESSING that it corresponds with wonder card slots on the game based on the text and numbering. But it's greyed out until after I hit the Generate button, so I don't understand what it's meant to do.
-
Just wanted to make sure I was looking at the right thing. Yes, I see it.
-
In the code gen window? That's the one that says "Used Wonder Card IDs" ?
-
Ha ha  I'm trying to generate codes for the English version of Black, just like the code gen is set up for.
