  1. There are numerous guides on this site on how to use Pokegen. I've come across one that tells you how to make proper pokemon as well. It is fairly simple. I recommend clicking past pages on this section. It is where most people post their guides to Pokegen. Also, I recommend looking at the past pages because many people have similar questions. It may take some digging or googling, but the answers are here or on google. You just need to look for them.

  2. True. Personally in my honest opinion, not many programmers capable of this would even be interested in making an MMO, particularly Pokemon. Again, you never know. At the same time, I still have my doubts. Like Codr said, many ideas like this go about not being realized. But some do, even if there is an insignificant minimum chance, like 1/1,000,000,000 probability. It would still be cool to see something like this become a game though. Plus this person who suggested this hasn't really showed up to make a comment on this thread since he/she made it. My guess, he/she forgot about it or just decided to ditch the idea. I believe it is safe to toss whatever hope there was, if any, out the window.

  3. Klaatu, even if it ISN'T covered in ice, it is guaranteed to be colder. Also, no one really knows for sure until we get more info from Troll Freak or Nintendo. Anyways, back to the thing I wanted to post:

    [video=youtube;gk3m5VwQXWQ]

This possibly sheds some light on the mystery behind White and Black Kyurem. Keep in mind though, in times, the anime differs completely from the actual games or manga. This doesn't mean though that it may not have something to do with it in the games. Just something to think about.

  4. I was wondering when the PokeDex 3D would go National. Also the AR Searcher sounds awesome. Perhaps this is their way of getting people to buy a 3ds as well as a sort of alternative to the PokeWalker back in HG and SS. Even so, I can't wait. They are doing what they can to promote these games before they come out. This will definitely bring DS sales up this holiday season.

  5. I agree with Codr to a certain extent. We are in reality, so any chance of this pulling off is slim. But then again, many games / businesses / etc have pulled off their ideas even though they were numbered, as far as chances go, before. And like Lorshinator said, some people such as programmers may want to help or even pitch in. As I always say, when there's a will, there's a way. Also, as for character customization, you could if it is too much trouble let us choose from various trainer sprites (obviously not leaders or league sprites). For example, Pokemon Breeder. Perhaps this can have an effect on the pokemon you catch or something? Just some more thoughts. Every great project always starts with brainstorming and finding helpers.

  6. I found myself playing the old Gen 1 games myself. I would love to register for this the day it is finished. This is a brilliant idea in my opinion. I hope everything works out great! Also, what kind of storyline do you plan on incorporating into it? Something new or the original for the respective regions? Also, how about items such as berries can only be found in their respective region. Johto berries in Johto, etc. This would encourage people to explore the other regions and make more friends. It adds to the motivation of the "gotta catch them all". Also, will the regions all share Gen 5 mechanics?

Another great idea would be a league for every region, then possibly a Master League, if you will, that can only be joined after defeating all five regions' respective leagues? Another idea would be to allow berry planting exactly like in Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald, with possibly the addition of mulch that we see in Gen 4.

Oh, another idea (sorry, this is getting me excited), how about for a profile page (like here on forums), except with a customizable Secret Base like in Hoenn. You can earn stuff to add to your Secret Base as rewards (i.e., getting certain number of badges, getting certain number of pokemon, certain regions, beating various leagues, etc.). These are just some cool ideas that I think will keep people playing. If all of this pulls off, this will be the most successful MMORPG for Pokemon out there. I'm will to support in any way I can, such as provide pokemon files to examine and such. I am not good with software, but I'd be happy to help any way I can. I would also make it so it can be upgraded for future regions / generations, as well as battle styles. Also, did you know that in Black and White, there is a Unity Tower that keeps a record of every country and people from their respective country you trade with on GTS? Just wanted to throw that out there. Any and all of this is optional, feel free to take any of these ideas and / or expand / improve them how you see fit. Good luck!

  7. Hang on guys. We have a major problem. The reason you two are having problems is because Nintendo seems to have shut down the original GTS server itself. I got the same error. Here were my methods:

I wanted to transfer a .pkm file to my game, so I activated IR-GTS like I normally do. However, it did not work. Curious, I looked up the error code: 13275. I looked this up for both my DS Lite and 3DS, both of which failed to work.

    DS Lite: Error Code: 13275

The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is currently experiencing problems due to a high amount of players, or is temporarily down. Please try again later.

    3DS: Error Code: 13275

The Nintendo 3DS system was unable to connect to the internet.

Where are you trying to connect from?

Wireless Home Router (please scroll down)

    Hotspot (click here)

    Using a router:

Check for wireless interference, which can affect the signal strength to the Nintendo 3DS. To help minimize wireless interference, try the following:

Make sure that the Nintendo 3DS is within 30 feet of the wireless access point and facing in its general direction.

Make sure that any other interfering devices, such as microwaves and cordless phones, are turned off.

Still stuck? We can help! We have an easy-to-follow guide that will walk you through the process of creating a new connection file and starting from scratch. Even if you're sure you've entered the correct security key, we suggest following our guide to create a new connection file and start over. If at the end you still need help, you'll find contact information to reach our specially-trained representatives.

I was stumped. For my 3DS, the wifi worked like a charm, yet on the DS connection for the wifi, it did not. Then I tried the original DNS (I chose "yes" on "Auto-Search DNS" instead of "no" and type the custom DNS that IR-GTS gives me). Again, still did not work. I tried seeing if it was just the GTS server, so I tried other wifi features like watching battle videos, going to wifi-club, or viewing musical pictures. Guess what? It worked perfectly. I tried it on my 3DS and DS Lite, both of which worked as long as I did not select Global Trade Station (GTS) with my original DNS or IR-GTS DNS. This has led to my conclusion:

Nintendo has temporarily shut down the GTS server at the very least in America. You see, without access to internet, the IR-GTS create a virtual DNS server for our DS to connect. Likewise, if there is no GTS server up and running, it cannot connect either. Everything else works fine except the GTS. This means that anyone who needs to use the GTS, be it IR-GTS or not, cannot for the time being. If you had Pokemon in the original GTS server, be prepared for the worst. Just a fair warning.

Now the question is, why? This could be for numerous reasons. It could be technical issues, preparation to Black 2 / White 2, upgrade, or even worse, fixing bugs. If by the very slim chance that they are fixing bugs, then this may POSSIBLY (not certainly) mean the end of our infamous GTS glitch, at least until the makers come up with a way around it. I am far from an expert so these are merely assumptions. Anyone else have any ideas? Is it working for you?

  8. I forgot all about Tentacruel and Dragonite. That is a powerful Dragonite. Would I be wrong in assuming this was its set? I saw three of its moves and watched its speed, so I'm guessing you made it specialize in speed and special attack with the added bonus of Life Orb. Plus I'm going on a limb here saying that the fourth move was Aqua Jet for rain and life orb boosted priority. Either that, or Surf or Roost. I don't think it would have Marvel Scale seeing as how it is a useless ability when sided with Life Orb.

    Dragonite (M) @ Life Orb

    Trait: Inner Focus

    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

    - Aqua Jet

    - Thunder

    - Hurricane

    - Outrage

But back on topic, I highly recommend taking his advice on the Tentacruel. It is a far better alternative than Cloyster unless you are interested in the Ice Shard's priority, but Tentacruel has a lot more benefits to offer with the addition of Rapid Spin. I would try a set like this:

    Tentacruel (F) @ Toxic Orb

    Trait: Rain Dish

    EVs: 4 SAtk / 252 SDef / 252 Spd

    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

    - Rapid Spin

    - Scald

    - Ice Beam

    - Sludge Bomb

Rapid Spin to solve your problems, high bulk in Special Defense leaves no need to invest the nature benefit into Special Defense (unless you care more about the Special Defense, in which case I would recommend a Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)) so I go with a Timid (+Spd, -Atk). Scald is for great rain boosted stab with burn (30%) bonus. Ice Beam is for those pesky dragons so commonly found and may freeze opponents if you are lucky. Sludge Bomb is good for poison stab with 30% chance of poison. Although, I admit, this is a gimmicky set because I have no idea how well it works. I've seen Tentacruel used but I have never used it myself. Feel free to edit it or change it entirely if you like.

Edit: Thank you wraith89 for monitoring this. You may not have battled in a while, but you still are more of an expert on team building than I am. I am sure you will be of more help to him than I have been.

  9. I know it is overkill, but I was previously hacked when a hacker found my IP Address via Pokemon Online. Hackers can become secret auth in Pokemon Online, thus giving them access to everyone's IP address. Lets just say that was an....unpleasant experience. I later found out he hacked me just because I was a friend of the owner of that server. Call me overprotective, but better safe than sorry I guess.

  10. Bug

    267f.gif

Beautifly: As odd as it sounds, it was my favorite bug Pokemon, but only because it won me SO MANY contests in Sapphire version.

    Dark

    635.gif

Hydreigon: This Pokemon is awesome. It is by far the most epic dark type Pokemon out there. Also, did you know the creativity behind its name? Hy= root word for Hydra, the Greek mythological multiheaded dragon/serpent; Drei= German for "three"; Gon= second half of the word "dragon". Put them all together an you get one epic Pokepun. Then again, many Pokemon names are a pun in sum shape or form.

    Dragon

    380.gif

Latias: The dragon Pokemon I absolutely HAD TO HAVE. I wanted it because it always taunted me with its elusiveness and ways to escape my captures endless times in my Sapphire and Emerald versions. After I finally caught it, it became my favorite dragon Pokemon in my collection.

    Electric

    025f.gif

Pikachu: By far my favorite Pokemon in existence because it was my absolute very first Pokemon in any Pokemon game (I had Yellow version obviously), plus I was a huge fan of it in the anime, which ironically enough, Yellow Version was based on the anime. This was also my very first shiny Pokemon (Shiny Gyarados does NOT count).

    Fighting

    647.gif

Keldeo: Although this pokemon is still unreleased in America, I still love this Pokemon. I'm going to be perfectly honest in saying that I have no idea why.

    Fire

    006.gif

Charizard: If there was ever a bad...you know... then it is none other than Charizard! Back in Gen 1, he was by far the coolest evolution of any starter. In fact, I remember the day when you were popular and everyone wanted to be your friend just because you had a shiny Charizard pokemon trading card. Ah, those were the days.

    Flying

    018.gif

Pidgeot: I admit, I mainly liked him since his epic appearance in the anime when he fended off the Fearow and flock of Spearow. He has stuck with me ever since.

    Ghost

    094.gif

Gengar: The original supreme ghost pokemon. His devilishly and Ghastly (pun intended) grin is scarey good. If there was ever a NON-LEGENDARY villain that was a pokemon, this would be the top contestant.

    Grass

    253.gif

Grovyle: This pokemon is one of those Pokemon you just absolutely had to have because he is so awesome. In the anime, when he put that wheat in his mouth, you know stuff got serious.

    Ground

    340.gif

Whiscash: I'm sorry, but I simply love this Pokemon's derp face.

    Ice

    131.gif

Lapras: My favorite ice type Pokemon. In Red/Blue/Yellow, a trainer is begging to give this amazing and beautiful creature because he abused it. Do not laugh, but I felt a responsibility to take care of it due to this and I just HAD to have it in my team at all times like I did with Pikachu.

    Normal

    507.gif

Herdier: The main reason I like this Pokemon is because it is the second Pokemon to remind me of my dog that I had to put down. :(

    Poison

    024.gif

Arbok: Arbok is the coolest poison type pokemon in my opinion. I love how they turned a kobra (pun intended) to an awesome Pokemon. This used to be one snake you NEVER wanted to mess with.

    Psychic

    326.gif

Grumpig: I love this Pokemon because it makes me hungry....for more bacon. Can I have some scrambled Eggsecute on the side?

    Rock

    248.gif

Tyranitar: Simply the Godzilla of the Pokemon, he is as dark and evil as his typing and powerful crunch. He is so awesome, especially when showed in the anime as "Dark" Tyranitar (whose name is ironic in itself). He was a must have, especially since he was the answer to my prayers against my brother's team of SIX MEWTWOs in his Gold / Crystal versions. Yes, he was that dedicated to play through his Red version that many times just for more Mewtwos.

    Steel

    212f.gif

Scizor: What is not to love about this fast red demon of steel? He is and will always be my favorite steel just because he is so awesome.

    Water

    245.gif

Suicune: The mystified water legendary, Suicune has always fascinated me. Oh how elusive it was in my Gold version, but Crystal made its glory truly shine. This water pokemon will always hold a special place in my heart. Even its theme music started in Crystal version.

    Runner-Up

    avvie_for_fourms_by_infernalbird-d3dtyhi.png

Swellow: lol Facade. Plus he is just cool.

As for where I got the animated Sprites...

    clicky

  11. No problem. I'm glad I could help. Remember, Cloyster can use Rapid Spin. I use a Rapid Spin on my own Cloyster in my Rain Team. It works like a charm. As a remedy for HP Fire on Rotom, you can always throw in HP Fighting since it is also super effective against Ferrothorn as well as Tyranitar, though not as powerful against him. Though it could prove beneficial against steels. However, I've always preferred the classic Scarf Trick set for Rotom-W myself.

    Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf

    Trait: Levitate

EVs: I would test to see which ones work best for you. Start with 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP and work from there.

Modest (+SAtk, -Atk) or Timid (+Spd, -Atk) Nature

    - Thunderbolt / Volt Switch (great for scouting plus STAB)

    - Hydro Pump

    - Will-O-Wisp

    - Trick

  12. lol They may very well be trolling everyone. However, haven't you noticed that there is an ancient civilization spoken of in every region except Kanto and the spin-offs? Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova. Game Freak HAS to be going somewhere with all of this talk of ancient civilizations. Here is another thread on it where people speculated, only this time on ALL of the ancient civilizations:

    clicky

I've always been fascinated in deciphering this info since Johto, however, the only ones I ever got around to were the Johto and Hoenn. These people filled in the gaps quite nicely. In Johto, there are those Ruins of Alph where the Unown lie hidden. In Hoenn, there are those that are underwater and also refer to the Regis as well as the ruins in the Sky Tower. In Sinnoh, there are also ruins referring to Arceus and the other legendaries. Now in Unova, you have these. If Game Freak was in fact trolling us, I believe it is safe to assume they would have dropped this topic quite a while ago. They are getting somewhere with it, this much is for sure. Also, the added versions of games (Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, and even HeartGold and SoulSilver) all expanded on these "ruins", "coded language", and "Ancient Civilization".

  13. This is very true. I forgot that Game Freak sometimes throw in super helpers in some Pokemon games, such as Lance

    Lance: "Dragonite use Hyper Beam!"

*Dragonite's sprite moves and tackles Team Rocket* (so much for Hyper Beam?)

lol anyways, I also can't help but wonder what happened to the people on the east side of Unova. Like you said, how the people managed to put up with this for that long is beyond me. What puzzles me, is how will Game Freak touch on the "Zekrom and Reshiram used to be the same Pokemon for the ONE Hero". They have failed to even say any more than this, and just left it in the open. However, there are those ruins underwater that have those hieroglyphics carved in the walls. Here is a great page on the Abyssal Ruins in Umbella Bay underwater: clicky. Not only this but there is that Ancient civilization spoken of so many times in Black and White, even on certain Pokemons' Pokedex entries. Could these be explained in the sequel? Or will they just be skipped and troll fans even more?

Also, Pokemon Smash said that they'll release even more information on Black 2 / White 2 on May 15 like they did this month. I can't wait to see what they'll show. In before Troll Freak trolls fans..........again.

  14. There is suppose to be an error code that pops up when you give a pokemon from your game to GTS to bring to your game. As for sending the GTS, it is possibly the following:

-wifi issues (the GTS glitch cannot be used if your router is not connecting to the internet, even though the ds gets the pokemon from the computer rather than the acual gts server)

-wrong Python version. It has to be version 2.7 if i remember correctly. if it closes, you need to shut off any communication software (i.e. Skype, MSN, any IMs, even software such as TeamViewer)

I would check to see if the error comes up on the Nintendo Wifi website. It may just be a connection issue. If not and nothing comes up, then something is wrong with your downloads. Also, I highly recommend IR-GTS / IR-GTS BW. They are the software I just referred to. Since you tried so many software that did not work, I am pretty sure it is a connection problem. Also, type the proper DNS code the software gives you for both Primary DNS and Secondary DNS.

  15. Politoed: I love this set. Though I don't really like to use Hypnosis due to risky accuracy.

Rotom-W: I happen to use this set myself. Like you, I find it a huge asset in rain. Though I am curious why it has HP Fire when fire is weakened in rain, though I suppose it would still come in handy in other whether too.

Ferrothorn: Great thinking in putting this in a rain team due to its weakness in fire.

Toxicroak: The only thing I would change about this set would be its item. I would give it Black Sludge since it only heals poison types but damages other Pokemon that hold it. This may come in handy if someone tries to use Trick to try and cripple it with a choice item.

Cloyster: I have great news my friend. Cloyster can actually learn Rapid spin. So you may not even need to change it to a Starmie.

    Gliscor: Perfect.

  16. This is very true. Now it looks like we have to make out guesses on. It appears that half of Unova is completely covered in ice, as well as the town you start in Black and White. You are a completely different trainer in the previously inaccessible western part of the Unova region, set 2 years after the original. What's more, there are new gym leaders throughout Unova.

    Unova in Black and White:

Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 Official Japanese Trailer

    [video=youtube;WjrXoEkG6JA]

Now for my new Hypothesis on the plot theory of Black 2 / White 2 (ASSUMING STORY REVAMP)

You are a new trainer (who in my opinion happens to look alot like the two trainers you start off with in Black and White but whatever) with a new childhood rival. Game Freak can never seem to have a pokemon game without a childhood rival for the most part. Implying this is two years after original Black and White, I assume they will keep the original trainer and N as the two Heroes for Zekrom and Reshiram, who should play a role in this plot line. Perhaps something like Red did for gold and silver. Ghetsis, I would hope, plays a role in this as well since he was never caught. All the Team gangs in previous Pokemon games have all finished and split up one way or another. Ghetsis was behind the making of Team Plasma to use N as a means to accomplish his evil plans, till they backfired of course. Now he is MIA, waiting to be caught.

Now for Kyurem. Obviously you were able to catch it in Black and White, but seeing as how it is the main legendary Pokemon in this game, I assume they are revamping it to where it was never caught, but rather waited for some unknown reason to emerge, which leads me to my next theory: the ice-covered Unova. It appears that Unova has hit its own ice age. This may very well be due to the roaming of Kyurem, possibly in its new form. It has the most powerful ice move in its arsenal. This move, Freeze Burn/Freeze Bolt, may be its move that it used to do this on Unova. Perhaps it may have been Glaciate, as we saw how well it covered the crater in Black and White in snow.

New Gym Leaders are here. In black and white, the gym leaders formed an alliance and helped defeat Team Plasma. Either they left for some reason regarding Team Plasma, be it searching for Ghetsis or whatever, or left for another reason. THEN AGAIN, we may only have a few of the gym leaders replaced, not all. Basically though, I haven't got the slightest clue why they would change gym leaders.

Last but not least, the mysterious Akuroma. He is very mysterious, seeing as how hardly any information, if any, was given about him. My guess is that he is a new leader of Team Plasma or a new Team. He should be playing a role similar to that of N.

Anyways, that is my two cents on the matter. You can point out your theories as was the point of this thread and NOT criticize, at least without good evidence to back you up. Also, any and all theories may be tossed out the window regardless what any of us guess. It wouldn't be the first time Game Freak (or as I refer to them as like many others, Troll Freak) trolled us....
