ReignOfComputer Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) I've just got a Pokemon that has both the Infected and Cured boxes ticked. Is this Pokemon legit/legal? Or is it hacked? Another question, can Pal Parked Pokemon (from the GBA Games) have the Fateful Encounter flag? This is as I've received quite a few Latias/Latios from the 3rd Gen games with Fateful Encounter, and I thought they didn't exist in GBA Games. Edited May 13, 2010 by ReignOfComputer
ReignOfComputer Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 Aww come on. I'm sure someone can answer this?
Patchworks Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 The only pokemon to have the fateful encounter tag are Shaymin Regigigas Pikachu colored pichu Arceus Jirachi Celebi As for the Pokerus infected and cured. That could be legit. Because pokemon do cure themselves from the pokerus. The lati@s twins are available in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Latias_(Pok%C3%A9mon)
ReignOfComputer Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 So there is NO way that the Lati@s from RSE have the Fateful Encounter tag? As for the PokeRus, I've seen some Pokemon with the Cured box ticked, but have also seen BOTH the Infected and Cured box ticked. Is the latter hacked?
Patchworks Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 No, there is no way that the Lati@s twins can be fateful encounters from any game. And I'll check on the Pokerus when I transfer my pokemon over later, as I actually encountered a legit pokerus in the wild and that would answer this dilemma
CNash Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Lati@s were given out as event pokémon during Gen III, so they can have Fateful Encounter in the GBA games, but I don't think this is kept when they're Pal Parked over.
Patchworks Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 When were they given out as event pokemon? In Gen III the only pokemon given away in events were listed here http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Event_Pok%C3%A9mon#Generation_III and that doesn't include any lati@s twins The Eon Ticket doesn't make it a fateful encounter. It simply unlocks the ability to travel to the southern islands
CNash Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 2006 10th Anniversary event; Latios and Latias were given out as event pokémon in the US and Europe. My own Lati pair are from this event, and bear the "Fateful encounter" tag. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_10th_Anniversary_event_Pok%C3%A9mon
ReignOfComputer Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 I don't have the Fateful Encounter tag on my 10 ANIV Pokemon. I think Fateful Encounter didn't exist in the GBA Games?
Guested Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I don't have the Fateful Encounter tag on my 10 ANIV Pokemon. I think Fateful Encounter didn't exist in the GBA Games? It did exist, and they do keep it when you pal park.
ReignOfComputer Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 Ah. I see. So which Pokemon, from which GBA game version(s), can have the Fateful Encounter tag and from where in the game?
ReignOfComputer Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 So Patchworks, any updates on PokeRus yet?
Guest Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 The Fateful Encounter location is not to be confounded with the Fateful Encounter check. In 3rd gen, the Pokémon might show Fateful Encounter on the summary, but that is merely a location. The only 3rd gen Pokémon that should have Fateful Encounter checked are the Distant Land Pokémon and legit Mew/Deoxys. That's how they made it so Mew and Deoxys didn't obey you when hacked, since they didn't have Fateful encounter.
CNash Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I've only ever heard this called the "Obedience Bit", with "Fateful encounter" meaning that the data sheet just says "Met in a fateful encounter at level...".
ReignOfComputer Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Thanks Pingouin7. So if I have a Lati@s that has Fateful Encounter, it's hacked?
