I lost my save on Emerald (GBA) due to corrupted data

My Emerald cartridge save got corrupted and i lost everything, is there a way to get the data back? I was exchanging some pokemon via gameboy advance and when i put my Emerald cardridge back into the DS lite a text appeared saying that the save got corrupted and i could only start a new save... i realized then that my cartridge was probably a copy and not an original, is there any way to get the data back??? If so i would need a step by step guide since i've only ever played on DS

Start with extracting the save file from your game.

Read through the options. If you’re sure it’s a reproduction card, use options to extract the ROM instead of the save.
