infinityblock Posted July 5 Posted July 5 mainWas playing Alpha Sapphire and the game froze after I saved. After a few minutes I turned off the console and afterwards the game said the save file was corrupted. Would appreciate it very much if anyone could take a look to see if it's fixable, thank you.
Kaphotics Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Here you go! main Same corruption issue as I've seen in other save files, where the save blocks become misaligned by 0x1F bytes. Manually adjusting the blocks to be aligned at their expected offset => save file is recognized. Trainer data in OR/AS starts at 0x14000, but your data started 0x1F bytes early. The first block (puffs) was missing the first 0x1F bytes, so only that data was "lost". To fix the save file, I manually inserted 0x1F bytes at the start of the save file, and removed the erroneous 0x1F bytes later in your box data. I've used PKHeX's puff editor to give you all puffs rather than leave you with nothing
infinityblock Posted July 6 Author Posted July 6 Thank you so much it launches now! For some reason the game/3DS freezes once in game, even when I tested on an emulator. If I immediately open the X menu then I can avoid the freeze, but I'm unable to fly anywhere and leaving the menu freezes the game again. Have you seen an issue like this before?
infinityblock Posted August 31 Author Posted August 31 For future reference it turns out the event flags and pokedex from my save were wiped out when it corrupted; I manually set the event flags back using PKHex and the FlagEditorEX plugin and then used HxD to copy the Pokedex hex block (about 0x15000 to 0x15FFF) from a working save file to my corrupted save which fixed everything
