Silent Storm Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) - Greencat @ 12:34 PM Thank you for contributing Silent Storm! Your guide was so great, it had two in one. I went ahead and reposted it in two forms. You have been credited and mark up was added. Thanks again. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?p=6773 http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?p=6782 I will now lock this thread and everyone can fallow the links above. Okami Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Thank you very much for this. It's been dizzying hopping from community to community looking up information here and information there...hopefully now this will lower that for me. It's nice to have the info all in one place! A question I have, since the IV guide there is very useful for me, because I didn't know how to calculate them properly... How do you calculate IVs towards getting a certain Hidden Power type? I read the guide over on Smogon and it didn't make any sense to me.
Torte de Lini Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Yeah, I was going to suggest Hidden Power guide too :3 The calculation for HP is: HP Type = (T1 + T2 + T3 +T4 + T5 + T6) * 15 / 63If IV of Hit Points is odd, then T1 = 1. If IV of Attack is odd, then T2 = 2. If IV of Defense is odd, then T3 = 4. If IV of Speed is odd, then T4 = 8. If IV of Special Attack is odd, then T5 = 16. If IV of Special Defense is odd, then T6 = 32. Here's the table: If HP Type = 0, then the type is Fighting. If HP Type = 1, then the type is Flying. If HP Type = 2, then the type is Poison. If HP Type = 3, then the type is Ground. If HP Type = 4, then the type is Rock. If HP Type = 5, then the type is Bug. If HP Type = 6, then the type is Ghost. If HP Type = 7, then the type is Steel. If HP Type = 8, then the type is Fire. If HP Type = 9, then the type is Water. If HP Type = 10, then the type is Grass. If HP Type = 11, then the type is Electric If HP Type = 12, then the type is Psychic. If HP Type = 13, then the type is Ice. If HP Type = 14, then the type is Dragon. If HP Type = 15, then the type is Dark. http://www.serebii.net/games/hidden-power.shtml - Respective source The higher the IVs, the stronger Hidden Power is: Power = (HP + Atk + Def + Spe + Sp.Atk + Sp.Def) * (40 / 63) + 30 http://pokemon.neoseeker.com/wiki/Hidden_Power - Respective source
Silent Storm Posted April 18, 2009 Author Posted April 18, 2009 For an Hidden Power guide, this site is more useful especially for savers http://www.metalkid.info/Pokemon/OnlineProgram/Calculators/HiddenPower.aspx
Okami Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Thank you Lini and Storm. :] Currently it all seems gibberish to me, though. *Is not very good in the department of math* Let me get this straight, it's the HP value what determines a Hidden Power's type? I'll get it straight eventually. I feel like a n00b.
Torte de Lini Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 To put it shortly. Odd numbers of your IVs contribute to the type of your Hidden Power will be. All even numbers are 0 and thus will be calculated into 0s. Depending on a combination of evens and odd numbers in your IVs, you will get a certain Hidden Power type (Ice, Fire, etc. etc.) The higher the IVs are, the more powerful Hidden Power will get. By priority, you should focus on the type of hidden power you want before trying to get extremely high IVs.
Okami Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I see. Is there a possibility of your giving example for a high-powered Hidden Power for every different type, then? Just another suggestion. :]
Torte de Lini Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Yes. You can have hidden power for every type. It's a series of odd and even numbers. So 30/31 should among your IVs in order to reach the maximum strength of your Hidden Power.
Greencat Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Woah, great guide! I'm going to mark it up a bit and sticky it.
Silent Storm Posted April 18, 2009 Author Posted April 18, 2009 Updated the credits , I am also planning on adding some more stuff if I find them useful.
Greencat Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I was editing it, however, it got a little big for just one Guide. It seemed more like it was two guides. I posted two guides from this, but your name I credited at the top. Thanks for contributing.
