How do I add gen Pokémon to my switch?

Hello

 

my question is how do I add gen Pokémon to my sword game.I already made a backup with the checkpoint and added the sd card in the pc and checked the folder in the map of checkpoint but how should I add Pokémon in it?

1. Load up your save for PKHeX
2. Add a mon
3. Save the save in PKHeX.
4. Restore the save using Checkpoint.

Can I get more explanation please? Should I download the Pokémon and drag them to the file?

You can create them, or you can download PK8 files. Your choice.

Okay thanks so I will download them and drag them to the file? Is that the right thing to do? Also which gen is possible to add in the game? I’m a big fan of gen 4

Gen 4 files (wc4 or pk4) can be added into any save from Gen 4 to Gen 8, tho Gen 8 (SWSH) will have some limitations, depending on what mon wasn't cut.

Can I do something about Pokémon that can’t be added in the game? It’s saying “it’s not in the origin game”

What Pokemon were you trying to import?

I tried it with one Pokémon (chimchar) but I get automatically an error cause of his attack(which I didn’t add but the file itself) and the error Pokémon not from origin in this game.Its not only Pokémon from gen 4 even the example Pokémon eternatus too

Chimchar isn’t programmed into SWSH, so you obviously can’t add it in.

if Eternatus gets an error in SWSH, then you created a bad hack. You can choose to ignore it and add it in anyway (ignoring the errors), or use an existing file and drag it in.

you can import previous gen PKX into SWSH saves, but they're all be illegal, as Pokemon HOME (the one and only legit way to bring mons into SWSH) isn't out yet.
