BlueBraviary
Why is this happening in PKHex? I tried using a save of a different size (because of the 64 vs 128 thing) and it still won't work! And why do I keep getting the white screen in VBA when trying to load saves and convert? I wish there was an easier way to edit GBA saves.

Every byte is "FF", so PKHeX cannot read it.

Anyway, consider saving the game, resetting the emulator and closing the emulator, then backing up the save.
BlueBraviary
That should have said ROM. will the VC save open if I change to 64k first?

BlueBraviary
That was the save from Visual Boy. Here's the VC save. No data there either? I'm using the instructions here. Is that the right way? https://3ds.guide/godmode9-usage.html gbavc.sav

I guess the only other way is to import it via VBA, then change the save type, save the game, restart emulator, save the game, then export out
