Editing Firered Origins(a romhack of firered) save?

My friend and I have been playing firered origins on our android with myboy emulator. Yesterday her game(along with the emulator)froze and the emulator stops working. It doesn't work even after reset and stays frozen. I experienced the same thing when I manually used her savestate on my device.

So I am trying to edit my own save to match her data in pokemon and trainer info. However both pkhex and A-save is not working. After editing the save, when I try to load the save with myboy or vba, I am getting save file corrupted error each and every time. Do pkhex and other save editors not support romhacks? Is there anything I can do?

save states are not save files, they are memory dumps of the emulator. hence why you can't use it on your computer, because it's not laid out for your computer/emu setup.

use the file in the battery folder.

Yeah, I know that. I'm trying to modify my .sav file atm. But it gets corrupted when I put it at the same place after editing.
