Swapping saves between OR & AS

Is it possible to (relatively simply) restore an AS save file to an OR cartridge, presumably after changing some hex values? Or do they store everything scrambled (with respect to each-other)?

They are the same, but some of the version exclusive flags will be unset for AS, for example you will still be able to catch lugia even if you already caught ho-ho.
