You're only jealous because it took 7-8% damage from a Giratina's Outrage. Mewtwo is unpredictable and can go outside his usual sweeper role and can be akin to a wall. 106/90/90 defenses? I don't think those can be ignored. Guess what Pokemon in OU has those defense stats and is called defensive. Does Swampert ring the bell? Yep... only this Mewtwo has Reflect and Will-o-Wisp to help out its physical defense. Mewtwo is more unpredictable than Gengar and with its insane movepool, he should be able to be geared in any fashion you desire. I have five different Mewtwos, each taking different roles. 2) All right. Please? Can you tell me that Mewtwo's set? Since you've asked nicely... Mewtwo@Leftovers Timid nature 252 HP/224 Def/32 Speed - Will-o-Wisp - Reflect - Recover - Taunt The general idea is to Taunt stuff that would normally intoxicate you... and set up Reflect to boost your physical defense and use Will-o-Wisp to burn physical sweepers (if it hits... 75% accuracy is shaky and misses 8 times in a row for me sometimes). That 32 EVs with Timid nature hits 334 speed, which outspeeds max speed Garchomp (unless Scarf'd, and Jolly 252 Speed EVs hit 333 Speed). The rest is to max out HP and and put into physical defense. So observe. A Scarf'd Garchomp may be faster, but it will get easily walled. A Banded Garchomp is more deadly, but Reflect and Will-o-Wisp ensure Mewtwo will survive its onslaught, even its Outrage. As for Lucario, Mewtwo is still faster. So you start Taunting to prevent a Swords Dance, then either proceed to burn it or set up Reflect. It will Extremespeed or Crunch or something... Extremespeed only has 4 PP thanks to Pressure... while Crunch, although it MAY lower Mewtwo's defense... the burn will finish off Lucario faster than what 12 Crunches would do. If Mewtwo is below 50% HP, it can start using Recover. Once Taunt's effect runs out, Mewtwo can Taunt again. Now Extremekiller Arceus... doesn't max out Speed or anything, so Mewtwo is faster, and can start Taunting, set up Reflect, WoW, Recover, rinse and repeat. Hopefully you won't get critical'd (if your name isn't wraith89 you'll have no problems with that). Hey, the idea works... If you're complaining that this thing is Taunt bait, replace Reflect with Seismic Toss (a good move to use with walls), Thunder or Ice Beam. If you insist on using a + Def nature, don't. You'll have to hit 152 Speed EVs to hit 334... and you max out HP... and the remaining EVs left will be 104, which hits 266 Def even with + Def nature. 224 EVs in a neutral nature hits 272... so just stick with the EVs put up there. I hope this shows you how versatile Mewtwo can be. In fact, some Pokemon who are normally sweepers can become something like a wall too. For example, there's Moltres. Yes, even Moltres can be a somewhat effective wall, but PLEASE get rid of Stealth Rocks first before using it! 3) Why are you using an Origin form Giratina? It sucks! It's like Ho-oh! Or does it? That Giratina can be a potent and deadly force if used right. For example, take a Shadow Force from it... while you can switch into Blissey... then Blissey doesn't like taking anything else that Giratina has. Giratina-O usually carries Substitute to scout for moves... and with Calm Minds it can be an effective sweeper. It is also not as fragile as one makes it out to be... 150/100/100 defenses anyone? That's bulkier than that Mewtwo I just put up! Need recovery? Get a Wishpasser like Blissey or something. As for Ho-oh, that's a different topic. But just because it's a rare sight in ubers... and is 4x weak to Stealth Rocks... tell me, have you ever seen it in action? Its signature move, Sacred Fire, alone is enough to break the metagame with its 50% chance of burn, coming off a STAB backed up 130 Attack. Yeah, get your Tyranitar or Swampert to come into it. I dare you. And what about its special defense? 154? You must be nuts. 106/90/154 defenses... are you sure you want that thing in OU? Its offenses isn't so bad either... 130/110 backed up with Calm Mind. So you say Heatran and Infernape can switch in... um, Heatran can switch into Sacred Fire, but can do little in return while Ho-oh can simply EQ it off. Infernape, while faster and CAN Stone Edge... isn't reliable as it can take an EQ by accident... which is never good. Most Infernapes don't carry Stone Edge anyways. Don't even think about bringing that phoenix into OU... it's too powerful for it. Just because you never see it in Uber doesn't mean it isn't Uber. I mean... look at Heracross. Do we see it in OU nowadays? It's only because of the omnipresence of Scizor people just stopped using that poor thing... but that's besides the point... BTW try Ho-oh with Groudon... you'll love it. 4) Why in the world would you bring Shedinja into ubers? Because it isn't as dangerous to bring it into Ubers as it is in OU. This applies for other Pokemon. Wanna know what one of the best counters to Kyogre is? Quagsire can screw up most Kyogres! Yes, this little slippery friend of ours is equipped with the movepool, ability and typing to deal with that fishy! So does Gastrodon, and many other water resistant mons who has the bulk and the tools to do some serious damage to fishies. Shedinja can too barring any Kyogre with Ancientpower. 5) Why is your Groudon so weak? I gave it very little attack investment. As you can see, I never expected a 212 HP/252 Def Bold Blissey to be its opponent. My Pokemon are usually the bulky variants. I like to survive hits and STILL do enough damage to KO. That is why I prefer Latias over Latios in Ubers. Latios has more power, yes... but it's overkill. He can't survive a Palkia's Spec'd Spacial Rend while Latias can... and Latias can still do something at least... I don't know. I prefer bulkier Pokemon, which is why I geared my Tyranitar to be more bulkier than the normal variants which run max Attack. 6) Why did you keep getting critical'd? Ask almost ANYONE around who uses our Shoddy Battle server. They'll tell you EXACTLY why. 7) What does Ganowon mean? Toffeuy Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 o.0 Nice Battle... This one took pretty long to read it all. Over half the battle was about subbing and walling. And most of the text you read is the damage from Stealth Rocks or the Recovery from leftovers. Lugia and Blissey sure lasted long in the battle. I like that strategy. Most people choose the higher defences to use as a wall. But those usually have a small movepool. Using moves for walling is better than relying on high defences just like how your Mewtwo did. And in the spoiler... did you have to type: 'You know I (Erhmm...) You'?

At least have a move on it >.> I think the hax went the OTHER way around (notice how I got critical'd 3 times from the SAME SOURCE while I did none in return) That Mewtwo is Taunt bait, but no one expects it until it reveals its set. It has its niche: to outstall physical sweepers. So if you're desperate for a move, replace Reflect or Will-o-Wisp (one or the other) for something like Ice Beam or Thunder.
